— Happy pride month!

I’m gonna start recommending queer movies that I’ve seen to kick off this queer as fuck month. Like them or don’t, that’s not my problem.

Here are three for the first week of June:

1. Pais Is Burning (1990) — A documentary, a classic. A must watch for queer persons alike, and your cis het friends too. An important piece of queer history. Goes over ballroom culture, drag in that era, racism and poverty. All things considered, watch it. Culture yourself. Learn about the community that came before you.

2. But I’m a cheerleader (1999) — please do yourself a favor and watch this. It’s campy, it’s fun, it’s something you should watch with your friends. Cast is star studded, you won’t regret sitting down to watch. Bonus points if you’re wlw, sapphic, or something in that category.

3. Too wang foo (1995) — something I genuinely watch every pride month. It’s campy, it’s queer, it focuses on arguably some of the strongest people in our community - drag queens and trans women, and drag queens who are transwomen. Very important, culturally significant, a feel good movie that will make you laugh and cry.

Musical bonus :

The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) — if you haven’t watched this, what are you doing? Embrace the other, embrace the weirdness, embrace the fucking camp of it all. Sometimes you need a musical about self expression, sexuality, and just overall weirdness.

All disrespect, because some of you deserve that, you guys suck. And when I say “you guys,” I don’t mean the followers or the askers who have been kind and entertaining to interact with, I mean the the other mods who are genuinely awful people.

Someone has to make a post like this every other month. It’s exhausting. It’s so fucking draining to have to say “be a good person” over and over and over again only to fall on deaf ears. You guys are eighteen to twenty something year olds and you act like you never left highschool. It is, frankly, super fucking embarrassing.

How many good people have to leave the app before you start treating other people like people? Some of you are so rotten that you have to tear other people down in order to make yourselves feel better. You slut shame, harass, and look at anyone who is multifaceted as a threat. You speak big game about showing up for people and making this community better, but you ice out anyone who doesn’t fit into the model of what you think a “good” OC should be.

You should be ashamed of yourselves. You really, truly should. It should keep you up at night. It should make your stomach hurt. You are grown adults bullying each other to the point of making people leave the app. I hope and pray this community fixes itself because right now it is inhabitable.

Ocs can’t be different nowadays. You can’t portray autism because then your character is just rude. You can’t be bubbly because then your character is just annoying. You can’t be sought after because then you’re a whore. Where is the line drawn?? You expect people to go along with your plots and narratives without ever even asking them if they would’ve liked to join. You step on toes and you play the victim when you’re in the wrong. It’s stupid. It’s so fucking childish and self entitled.

Roleplay used to have etiquete. It used to be fun. Now all we get are the same three copies of the same three boring character types with no arch, no overall plans, no real thought put into them whatsoever. All this platform is to you is “fun layout, relationship” and it shows.

I guess this is me putting in my two weeks. The Pitt fandom was nice in the beginning but it’s become this cesspool that eats at you whenever you interact with it. My ocs will become fandomless, and my canon characters will be retired. I don’t know if I will be deleting my CC blogs, but that’s to be determined.

For a lot of you this may seem out of left field, but I have been feeling this way for months. I have watched too many people feel like they are hated, not as their character, but as the mod. And I’ve had enough of it.
