The Books That Bind Us

Sorry I have been horribly absent from this blog.  March was a busy month for me.  I was literally only in my city for two weeks out of the month and then for the last five days I have been down hard with the flu.  So I will get back here to all you lovely people.  But here is what I read in March.  Not so much, but hey more than most Americans right? lol.

Forgotten by Catherine McKenzie

I really enjoy McKenzie's books.  They would technically be classified as "chick lit" - and I hate that label because I think it denies good books what they can be.  And I feel like McKenzie's books are in a different category than Bridget Jones' Diary.

Emma's mother falls ill and passes away.  In her Will she purchased Emma an open ended ticket to Africa.  Emma, a corporate lawyer about to make partner, goes hesitantly.  While in Africa a series of events occurs and she is gone for 6 months.  When she returns she finds out that everything believes she has died.

Emma has to start her life over and figure out if the lessons she learned in Africa will stick.

Loved this book. I read it on my snow day this week.  Yes we have snow days in the South sometimes.
