To me, the "It's Hell, they're supposed to be assholes" argument stopped being an argument and more like an excuse when I realized that Moxxie exists.
Moxxie has the worst upbringing out of all the main characters, but he's still the nicest one..if you ignore Unhappy Campers.
Moxxie treats other demons with respect, compliments them, rarely curses or insults people, and is an overall gentleman. Compare him to Blitzo or Loona and you'll see who's more appealing as a character and not by physical looks.
If Moxxie is able to become a nice demon to be around regardless of his upbringing then Loona, Blitzo, and even Stolas have no excuses. They're choosing to be assholes while Moxxie chose to change. .
It's also weird that the character that's bullied or shat on the most in the series is the nicest character while the characters that are looked up to and even praised are the characters that are assholes.
Madeline Maye said something about this in their Helluva Boss critique that being "It's a bully's world where the bully gets rewarded". Something along those lines.
