I stand beside the platform, next to Bucky, watching Steve say goodbye to Sam. I saw how the light in Bucky's eyes slowly faded as his best friend hugged him. Steve walked in front of me. He looked at me, the same way he looked at me when we met for the first time

I've been searching for a trail to follow again

Take me back to the night we met

"Again?!" I groaned. I was walking home from a diner that my date stood me up at. I heard loud pops and saw fireworks in the town square. I realized that the Stark Expo was open this time of year. I decided to cheer myself up by buying a ticket at the gate. I wandered around, in awe of the Expo Center. I wasn't paying attention and I bumped into a guy my height.

We both fell onto the floor. I rubbed my forehead and looked at the person I hit, also sitting on the ground, recovering. I heard boots and heels run up behind me. "Oh look what you did Steve. Ya' knocked over a pretty girl." A Brooklyn voice says behind me. The woman in the heels helped me up. She had brunette curls and a sweet smile. "Buck, I didn't notice she was walking." The blonde man said.

The guy named Bucky smiled at me. "I apologize for my friend here, as an apology, would you like to join us?" He flashed me a smile, one that was probably used on many other girls. "Sure, I'll tag along." I brush off my skirt and look ahead. The brunette and Bucky walked ahead, her laughing at something he said. I looked to my right and noticed the man named Steve. I looked into his eyes. "I'm Y/N," I say. "I'm Steve." He grinned back.

"I had a great time with you tonight," I said, blushing. Steve and I walked, hand in hand, on the sidewalk. Steve was blushing as well. We walked to my apartment door. "I had a great time as well," Steve said as I turned towards my door. "I'll see you sometime?" I ask him. He nods and starts to back away. I smile and wave as he leaves. When he leaves completely, I shut the door behind me, leaning against it as I slide my back down the door, grinning from ear to ear.

Later down the line, I watched as Steve joined the war efforts. I saw him leave with tear-filled eyes. "Please come back to me...alive." He looked at me. "I will.." He kissed me on the lips softly, so much passion and devotion pressed into me. I leaned back and wished him well.

'Nurses needed' signs line the street. The idea had been on my mind for a while, but I didn't know if I was ready to commit to my decision. I take a flyer from the board in the diner's lobby. I sighed and nodded to myself. 'Let's do it' I thought, hyping and encouraging myself.

When I arrived at the address that I was given, my nerves started to set in. 'I signed up to be a nurse, I'm supposed to be at a hospital.' I thought to myself. I shook the thoughts away. I walked through the shop. A woman walked and stood next to me. "My name is Margaret Carter." She stuck her hand out. I shook it back and was confused about her accent, but spoke nothing of it. She led me back into a secret laboratory. A coffin-like container was in the middle, standing vertically.

"So.. why was I called here? I thought I was being transferred to a field hospital?" I asked questions, demanding softly for answers. "Well... Steven mentioned a Y/N Y/L/N when we talked about a female volunteer to be a super soldier alongside him," she started walking down the stairs," Since you were already in our system as a nurse, we knew you would be a perfect fit." She finished. I stood there, trying to process all the information I was given. I quickly caught up to her.

"Steven? Steve is here?!" I questioned, looking around to spot the blonde-haired man. Margaret didn't answer my question. She just showed me the contraption that Howard Stark himself was standing by.

"Why hello," Howard smirked, "What's your name?" He asked me. I smile back, not affected by his charm. "I'm Y/N. I'm with Steve." Howard looked surprised. "Steve Rogers?" He whistled lowly. "Didn't know Rogers could have a girl. A pretty one at that." I rolled my eyes. "Are we going to do this or what?" I questioned, impatiently. Howard just chuckled and presented the light blue container.

"You are now going to be the second super soldier, our first female in the world. So, if you would...take off your..shirt and put on these briefs." He hands me the shorts and looks away at the instruments. I take the briefs and change into them under my skirt. I take my blouse off, noticing eyes on me.

I lay on the chamber table and Howard explained the procedure. "These vials will have needles inserting this serum into your skin. I would lie and say you'll only feel a pinch, but you're the type of woman to see through my lies." Howard chuckles, putting the last vial in the slot.

"I gotta put her in the water," Steve's voice echoed in the control room. I froze in my spot. "Please, don't do this, we have time, we can work it out." Margaret declared softly. "Right now, I'm in the middle of nowhere. If I wait any longer, a lot of people are going to die." Steve reasoned. His voice came in again.

My heart sank when he said her name, "Peggy... this is my choice." I knew he was going to say his final words, so I opened my mouth to say something, but Steve came in one last time. "Peggy..." "I'm here," Peggy responded.

My mind reeled in, confusion wrapping itself around my head. 'Why is he saying her name?' "I'm gonna need a rain check on that dance." 'Dance? What is going on?' "All right... A week, next Saturday, at the Stork club." Peggy responded, tears leaving her eyes.

Steve played into the fantasy, adding to the plans, but I tuned out the conversation. 'When did he start liking Peggy? Why wasn't Steve mentioning me?' I heard the last of their fairy tale date, "We'll have the band play something slow. I'd hate to step on your-" and the radio went silent. I heard Peggy pleading for Steve's name in the intercom, but I walked out, the last of Steve's words repeating in my head.

Years went by and I adapted to the new world as it moved on. I blew steam from my coffee and sat in front of the television.

"Good morning New Yorkers, we are ready for a rainy day in the city, with a high of 70 and a low of 62 degrees. Remember to pack an umbrella when leaving your house today. Now, on to today's top story, Does the world need Iron Man?" I turned the TV off and walked to my bedroom, sipping my coffee. Setting it down on the bathroom counter, I turned the shower knob on.

Driving my car, my music stopped as a phone call came through. "Miss L/N, we need you in my office immediately." Nick Fury's voice filtered into my car. "I- uh, ok. I'll be there ASAP sir." I ended the call. I pulled into the parking lot, scanned my ID card, and rode the elevator to the top floor. "Fury, what is so important for me to be here instead of my office?" I asked. Fury waved his hand to a man in the chair in front of him. The familiar man and I locked eyes.

"Steve?" I said, at the same time he said my name.

"Y/N?"

"OK. I'll go with Cap and you'll find the tesseract. Then, we can get the hell out of here and go home." I told Tony. He nodded and we went our separate ways. Steve and I walked the halls of the facility until we both heard the conversation in front of us.

"You've never seen the woman and these two men before?" "No, but the three of them looked fishy." The woman and the two men were walking towards us. "Can you describe them?" "Well, one of them had a hippie beard."

I snorted, reminding myself to repeat that to Tony. The woman and security guards walked closer until Steve pulled me into a nearby room. I looked around the room until I noticed it was an office. I heard the small group walk by and turned to open the door. "The coast is clear now Steve, we can le-," I stopped my sentence short when Steve wasn't paying attention, and instead was looking at the glass that seemed to be a window to the other room.

I looked back at the door and realized whose office we were in. "Steve?" I tried to gain his attention, but Margaret captured him. "Steve, we have to go." I pulled at his arm. He set the photograph I didn't even know he was holding back onto the desk. I opened the door of the office and walked out as normally as possible.

Steve tore his gaze away from me, and backed away, taking the suitcase and himself to the platform. "How long is this going to take?" Sam asked. "For him, as long as he needs. For us, 5 seconds." Bruce counted down from 3, and Steve disappeared into the quantum realm. We waited five seconds, and when Bruce pressed the button, Steve didn't appear. I stared straight ahead, hoping and praying for Steve to reappear on the platform.

Sam vocally expressed his concerns for Steve, until Bucky called out, "Sam." Bruce, Sam, and Bucky looked at the old man, sitting on the bench. I knew it was Steve, but I didn't bother walking over when the others did.

When they had their backs turned, I walked in the opposite direction of the platform and climbed onto my motorcycle, took off, and never looked back.

Staring at my tablet, they showed the damage caused on Earth. "Princess Y/N, you're needed by King Tho-," I heard a maid say, not finishing when she saw me watching the news. "Princess Y/N, you know the news is bad for your mental mindset." The same maid mentioned while cleaning up my vanity. "Oh alright..." I put my tablet down on my nightstand and stood.

I wiped my sweaty palms on my dress and walked out the door to head to the throne room. Loki was also walking out of his chambers. His face lit up in mischief. "Hello sister, do you know what this oaf wants?" "No, Loki, I do not, and don't call him that, you know he hates it." I said calmly, with a bit of humor.

Thor was pacing back and forth, frantically, might I add. "Ahh..you're finally here." He announced clapping his hands. "Brother, what is needed from us?" I asked after I curtsied before him.

"Well Y/N, I need you to go to Midgard and help with the damage." He stated." Ok.. and why is Loki here?" "He is needed by Doctor Strange for some multiverse issues." Loki rolled his eyes, but underneath, I knew he was pleased by being needed.

"Alright, you ready to go now Loki?" I asked him, with a smirk on my face. I transformed quickly into trendy midguardian clothes and started racing Loki to the Bifrost bridge. I made it there first, Loki showed up seconds later. "Princess, Prince." Heimdall bowed.

He turned the sword and Loki and I were transported to Midgard." Alrighty, Thor is sending me to the Sanctum in Greenwich." I sighed. I turned to look at Loki and hugged him. "Be safe and don't do anything I would do," Loki said as he returned my hug and kissed my forehead.

"You too brother. See you soon." I said. I took out my phone that Thor gave me before I left. I put in the address "43-25 43rd St. Long Island City, New York." Not wanting to attract attention to myself, I decided that walking was better than teleporting.

*20 Minutes Later*

I looked at the building, or what was left of the building. Noticing the fire, the rubble, and the lack of civilians, I got to work. I closed my eyes, my palms out, and called my magick forward. I felt the surgery of power flow through my veins.

I started removing water from the lake nearby. I put out the fires easily, despite the resistance of my magick collecting the water. Looking ahead, I chose not to rebuild the building. I put the remaining rubble in the lake, thanking the element for allowing me to control it.

I called my magick back into me, keeping it secured. I saw a shadow in my peripheral. It was blue and red. The colors were easily recognizable. Peter! I thought. To assure myself that it was Peter, I called out his name.

"Peter! Hey Peter!" The figure quickly turned around and swung toward me. "You-you know my name?" He asked, looking confused. "Um yeah...you're Peter right?" "Yeah, I-I am." He chuckled.

"Why were you confused?" I asked. "It's a long story." He explained. I looked at my phone. No calls from my brothers. "I have time." "Oh-uh, ok. Well, my apartment is a couple of blocks away from here." I followed him back. We reached the complex, found his loft, and unlocked the door with his keys.

He allowed me in. I took in the simple aspect of the small space. I walked over to his desk, noticing the sewing machine and scraps of his suit. I looked closely at the coffee cup, "we are happy to serve you" it said.

I looked behind me, noticing Peter standing there with a pained look on his face. "So...what happened?" I asked, getting straight to the point.

He poured everything from the government accusing him, to his aunt passing, to now a world not knowing that Peter Parker exists. "Oh, Pete," I said, not wanting to cry. "Anyways, how do you still know who I am?" I wiped my eyes before the tears could fall.

"I wasn't on Earth when this happened. I was up in Asgard after the final battle." "Oh." He said simply.

We sat in silence, until my phone went off, signaling that Loki was done with his mission. I looked up at Peter, who was lost in his mind.
