Living in the paddock back on the island was the normal life to her and sisters, that was until now. This was her new normal. A normal her sisters would never get to experience, that sad reality haunting her every second of every day. But she was greatful for every second of this free life that he had given her and she was going to live it three times harder for her sisters. “And look at me now! Living without restraints! You fought and fought for me to have this life and I’m so so proud”

She took a hold of his hand, squeezing it gently “I know you will and I know you are, it’s what worries me sometimes..” her words slowly trailed off. She smiled back at him, warmly and reassuringly “you’ve done soooo much for us! Do you remember when we were little? How you’d bring a new toy every time you came to see us? Or the times when me and Echo would fight and you’d tell us off?” She laughed, allowing her happiest memories take over her mind.

He had tried so hard, to keep the girls safe.  That was his only job in the end.  Keep the girls safe, and make sure that InGen didn’t destroy them.  He had fought so hard to make sure they weren’t some ‘failed’ experiment that InGen threw away.  And he hoped that he done a good job with that.  

The intense smell of the alcohol made her gag, having such a strong sense of smell wasn’t so amazing all the time… in fact more often than not it was quite an annoying feature to have. She let a deep breath out “big, maybe a little bit bigger than half the size of me big, bigger than the usual alpha male wolf big.” The memory was still blurry, even if it had happened less than an hour ago. It was just dark and happened so quickly.

The blurry memory mixed with the constant stinging pain coming from her arm caused her to panic, she tried to calm down but the shock of having just been attacked was starting to show. She looked down at their hands before allowing her gaze to fall on him after she was guided to look at him “okay. Yeah. I can do that” she spoke quickly, trying to get her breathing under control by taking deep, long breaths.

Part of the training for the girls, was to be able to control their breathing.  To be able to look in the face of danger, and stay calm about it.  And he knew that while she was panicking just a little, her training would kick in and she would be able to focus.  And when she could focus, she would be able to give him the information they both needed.

Her breathing quickly slowed as she allowed her training to take over, her panic of the moment slowly fading. Listening to him also gave her comfort that allowed her to calm. She felt like she overreacted. She wanted to know she overreacted and that it was just one off big wolf. “Yeah. You’re probably right, it didn’t look very different to every other wolf, it was just the size of it that gave me a fright and I over reacted. Right?”

Three candles that when lit together smells exactly like hot chocolate but smells like a rotting dead body separately

“You did protect us..! Every time they tried to experiment on us, or do something that even had a slight chance of harming us, you’d step in a stop them!” She sighed softly. She knew that without him and everything he did for her and her sisters, they would have been used and abused or probably even dead. “You have no idea how grateful we are for you, we learnt everything we knew from you, our human emotions and actions especially!”

There was no place she felt safer than in his arms, it was welcoming and familiar. “Dad, forget it… we all made mistakes that night, even we did. If we didn’t betray you it wouldn’t have gone so wrong… “ she shook her head slightly before continuing

“But we were so happy dad. You set us free! we weren’t locked in a cage, we were running free”

He had done so much to keep them safe.  He refused to let InGen be alone with the girls, at any time.  He hated that they wanted to do things to them that shouldn’t be allowed.  He hated knowing that they could destroy them.  So he fought for them.  He had fought for them that night too, but in the end he had made the decision to let them fight.  The wrong decision, in the end.  But he had still made it.  And he would forever have guilt over that.

He sucked in a breath at her words.  He just wanted them to have a normal life.  As normal as they could get anyway.  He wanted them to know what it was like, to be free.  To have the ability to make their own choices.  He had tried to give them that everyday, and he hoped that they had had a taste of that.  “The only thing I ever truly wanted for your girls, was the ability to live without bars around you.”

She nodded her head, keeping it on his lap. Being with him reminded her of just how much she missed him while on the island alone. It was dark, isolating and scary, something she most definitely did not want to experience again.

“Sounds good to me” she spoke with a soft smile, gazing up at him. “And if they separate us, as soon as I’m better, I’ll kill them” a slightly laugh escape her. If she had the strength to, every worker on the boat would have been killed.

The effects of the darts she had been shot with hours previous had really began to wear off. She shivered, feeling the cold air from the ocean drift in. “I-it’s getting really cold…”

He smiled, nodding back at her just a little, before letting out a breath.  He hated that this was their life.  That they were in this position because of someone’s greed.  That had to be it, right?  They wanted her for something, that would lead to more money and more chaos.  He hated InGen.

Fear slowly faded into excitement as adrenaline started to kick in. This is what she was created to do. Hunt and kill. She nodded as she listened to him, planning out a Route and her own mini plan in her head. He had taught her so so much and she was more than greatful for it, without his help she wouldn’t be able to control anything she was able to do nor keep herself safe.
