The ginger man's eyes widened when he saw a young boy lurking around some of the more isolated paths of the Oulwell Basin. He wasn't a local, that much he could tell, for they usually didn't go through those paths. Not everyone liked going there, and he couldn't blame them. It had been the lair of a rather viscious monster but that had been a long time ago. Still, that's where he had been raised and where he had grown along with his monstie, a Gravios.

Both him and his monstie were running towards Nata however, as there was an Ajarakan coming for him.

— HEY! GET TO SHELTER! — Quasimodo yelled as both man and monstie hurried to the rescue.

QUASIMODO MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH

Alright here comes a little bit of a headcanon? More like a compilation of thoughts that will impact the way I roleplay as Quasimodo. This is inspired by my own research, my interpretation and inspiration from both the original novel from Victor Hugo and the Broadway Musical.

Let's start with the obvious, Quasimodo, despite being really good acrobat, still has some difficulty to move around often having a limp due to the deformity of his spine. He feels pain, but this being his normal since birth, he doesn't complain. There are days where it's worse than others.

He is physically stronger than most because of his profession as a Bell Ringer, they are heavy and you can see him doing that effortlessly throughout the movie (that and the whole breaking chains thing).

His vision is compromised by the deformity on his face, his left eye being less effective than his right. On his left eye can only percieve changes in lighting, being basically blind.

Speaking of things being compromised, Quasimodo has loss of hearing because of the loud sound of the bells and the fact that he is so close to them (different from the book where he is 100% deaf). Because of that, he has become good at reading lips and knows partial sign language, only very basic things because Frollo would only teach what he thought was strictly necessary.

Mentally, he suffers from Maladaptive Daydreaming. It's a trauma response to his isolation and overal trauma. That being said, a lot of things he sees are most likely not there or real, one of the most obvious things being the Gargoyles. RP wise I will not mind if a character can speak with the gargoyles or something of the sort, I'll leave that part open to partners, but it does affect how he sees and interacts with the world, as he for example, would not think talking animals are strange or something of the sort.

0.1 This is a roleplay blog for Quasimodo from Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, with influences from the sequel, the Broadway Music and my own headcanons.

0.2 No godmoding will be allowed, the same goes for powerplay. If there is need for godmoding during a thread, please ask for my permission, discuss about it with me please, so both sides can agree and no one is left unhappy about the plot.

0.3 Please don’t assume prestablished relationship with my muse without talking to me, the mun, first. Of course that it doesn’t apply much to canon characters that have interacted any of the characters displayed here. Even in these cases, it’s important to contact me about it because we might have different views of how they would interact with each other and it’s always good to have these things clear.

0.4 DON’T RUSH ME OVER REPLIES. Understand that I’m busy and this isn’t my only blog. I roleplay for fun and relieve stress. Sometimes I need to take breaks or drop threads and I deep apologise for that.

0.5 Don’t assume your character knows anything about my muse unless you have discussed it with me first or my muse has told yours something about them.

0.6 This blog is PRIVATE. Which means I'm picky with who I roleplay with and will write only with mutuals. Sadly ADHD brain is a thing so I might be picky with threads and replies!

0.7 I ask to others not to reblog my threads and/or headcanons. Of course that if you are the person I’m roleplaying with that doesn’t apply, but if you are a personal blog or even another roleplay blog that isn’t the one I’m interacting with, DON’T REBLOG THEM.

0.8 I’m OC friendly. However, that doesn’t mean I will roleplay with every OC that follows me. I’ll take a look on the blog, read the about, headcanons etc, (note: if I can’t find the about or any basic information about your muse, no I won’t roleplay with you) and if I don’t feel like there is a way we can interact, I won’t follow. Of course that muns are always welcome to message me in private if they have any ideas for plots that could happen, I’m always open to that.

0.9 I’m open when it comes to crossovers between fandoms.

1.0 I don’t have english as first language, so I ask that people keep the grammar as accurate as possible to help me understand what you are writing, of course that I understand if english is also not your first language.

1.1 I write in the style I grew up with, being Brazilian Portuguese, using — instead of "", with speech being colored. If that format is hard for you do read for some reason (I was told can be bad for those with dyslexia), you can reach out to me and ask to write differently for our threads.

1.2 I also ask you use pontuation I won’t roleplay with people that write something like: smirks Hi (this is more out of personal preference and exceptions can be open for crack threads between mutuals)

1.3 I don’t do ’submit your reply’ kind of thread. If you use the submit to send me your reply over and over again I’ll delete over and over again. Have in mind that this annoys me very much, so please don’t do it.

1.4 SHIPPING I’m multiship! That means that each ship developed here exists in it’s own universe and they don’t clash. Ever. But that doesn’t mean I’ll always roleplay with two of the same muse. I also ship chemestry, so unless A) Our muses relationship is well developed or B) Me and the mun actually talk a lot about that.

1.5 NSFW content will be put under a ‘Read More’. A reminder that it doesn’t always means smut, but also subjects such as torture, selfharm, and etc. I will not be roleplaying smut with Quasimodo unless it leads to that naturally.

1.6 While I know it's not possible to match the length of a reply every single time, I do expect to at least get more than a couple lines response if I make the effort of writing more than three paragraphs. If you do that.... chances are I will lose interest in replying to that thread and/or other threads between us really fast and might even drop them without notice.

1.7 Following, unfollowing, soft block and blocking: I usually follow both people I want to interact with and people I just want read threads (because I like their writting), but that also means I may unfollow without notice. If I don't wish to interact anymore chances are I'll soft block without saying anything, mostly because I'm too anxious to do so. If you make me unconfortable in any way, it's a hard block.
