"riordan literally jumps onto the archdemon. like i’m sorry but half the bracket can argue about sword forms and spell schools all they want; this man saw the blighted dragon god flying past and went “yeah, i can probably get on that.” he did die, obviously, but he also forced the thing to land, which is the only reason the final fight can happen properly. death is temporary. style points are forever."

"He’s a veteran Warden rogue with Duelist training, which means he’s probably relying on speed, accuracy, footwork, and knowing how to survive against enemies that swarm, poison, ambush, and never get tired."

"I think Riordan deserves way more credit as a combatant because Origins uses him as plot support so late in the game, but everything around him implies he is extremely capable. He’s a senior Warden, Duncan’s contemporary, trusted enough to be sent alone into Ferelden as an advance scout, and still immediately useful after Howe captures and tortures him. Then during Denerim he goes off by himself, cuts through darkspawn, tracks the Archdemon, and makes the single stupidest/bravest leap in the game. He was fully prepared to take the killing blow himself if he could get there first."
