A Goodbye
2013 - 2020Ā ā„
First of all, I have to say that Iāve been putting this out for a while now, and even trying to revive my old passion for this blog, but, even though I donāt think anybody will actually read or care about this, itās time to close this chapter a little bit more respectfully than just hiding my blog away until I figure out what to do with it... So here we go.
Next month itād be 7 years since Iāve first started on The Barksy. At that time, the film of Les MisĆ©rables was still fresh in my head and my interest on Samantha grew, filling up the space in my heart I saved for very few artists I knew. Just like it happened to many people at the time, I basically fell in love with her. I loved her personality, her voice, her charisma, I watched every interview, read every tweet, listened to every song and searched for hours for everything that I could find and share with you guys here. But right now, if Iām going to be completely honest, those days are gone and they have been gone for a while now. I still respect Samantha Barks a lot and will probably still watch her career from afar and root for her, just not here anymore.
I was still a teenager when I made this blog. I remember it being a very difficult year for me mentally, but as I became more attached to this little corner of mine on the internet I was a little happier. Running TB distracted me and alsoĀ fueled my passion for photoshop and editing in general (even if poorly). No matter how bad or alone Iād feel in a day, I knew I could come here and edit for hours and hours and then be proud of the result as the notes on my posts would grow and for that I have to thank all of the 2k followers of this blog!
Iām feeling a bit silly writing this right now, Iām not gonna lie, because at the end of the day who cares... But this text is more for me to look back on the, not always great, but definitely fun times I had here. There are some things that Iād change, specially in the beginning, with me being way too defensive on issues that I thought Iād have no problems with, but other people clearly cared about... Maybe if Iād been more understanding of those things instead of dismissing them asĀ āsillyā then I wouldāve avoided some petty fights as well as well as some snarky remarks. I guess those are the dramas of youth though and, as time passes, we grow older and wiser and at the end (or right now, if we consider this anĀ āendā of sorts), weāre all fine and kinda over it Iām guessing, Iām hoping.
In the end I just wanna thank everyone. Like I said, I donāt think anyone will actually be reading this and I didnāt think Iād write that much, but clearly The Barksy was a very dear place to me and I owe a lot of that feeling to everyone who followed, rebloged or left a message of encouragement to me, thank you very very much!! Also special thanks to Allison, Rachel and Andrea! We ran different blogs that were parallels to each other and you guys arenāt even here anymore, but, if you ever come to find this, know that youāve made i huge impact on me and Iāll be eternally grateful even if our paths never cross again, thank you for everything!
Lastly, I thought really hard about what to actually do with the blog. Should I delete it? Should I give it away to someone whoāll actually make good use of it? Should I delete it????? For now Iāve decided to keep it as it is, maybe Iāll come back to it one day, who knows. Until then, though, this is a goodbye.
You can still follow me on briarosie and on twitterĀ if you wanna talk, I donāt promise to be that entertaining though!Ā Once again, thank you for everything, Bruna ā„
