To this day I have no idea what protagonist and antagonist means bc ppl say protagonist but mean main character, but I was taught that the protagonist is the character with a goal and the antagonist is the character trying to stop that goal and the protagonist can be the villain, and the antagonist can be the main character because the character with the goal doesn’t have to be good and that goal doesn’t have to be good. And also that the main character doesn’t have to be good. So idk what it means anymore bc I was under the impression they mean “the character that has the main goal driving the story vs the character opposing that goal that drives the story” and it had nth to do with if they were the main character or their enemy but now idk
