Something I have noticed from watching interviews with Aisha and Nikohl is that they have a great mutual respect for each other.

Aisha really respects and admires Nikohl you can see it when she listens to Nikohl speak, or when Aisha talks she always looks to Nikohl for reassurance or as if to make sure she is on the right track.

Nihkohl always seems to laugh with Aisha and smiles when she is talking. She will look at Aisha with real fondness and it's beautiful.

In the 2018 Atx Bold Type interview hearing both of them talk about how they met before they started shooting and looked at pictures and did research for their characters, it is very clear why to me Kadena have the most chemistry on the show. They have a genuine bond and connection that really translates on the screen.

If I am honest it is one of the few couples I have watched that actually feels like a real couple and not just overblown romance, they are telling a truthful love story, as painful as that is. Even in the show the other couples are okay but they don’t shine as much.

My fellow Kadena shippers and to all the Kadena fanfic writers I know I times seem a little bit rough right now with our ship bit in the words of Gladys Knight we must Keep on keeping on. So I have a few did prompts that I would love to see turned into fanfic. What better way to get through this period of ish then to bury yourself in fanfic.

PROMPTS

Highschool AU: Kat and Adena are on the high school Newspaper. Kat is the president and Adena is the photographer, they are constantly bickering to the annoyance of the other members, Sutton, Jane, Alex and some others. Kat is very friendly popular liked by everyone, Adena is also popular but seen as the edgy, rebellious one who has no issues with anyone but Kat.

Drunk Wedding in Vegas AU: It's cliche I know but Kat and Adena wake in bed together in Vegas and discover that they are married. Adena is heartbroken over her break up with her ex and Kat just wanted to let off steam from being the billionare founder of a global multimedia company. They want to get either or a divorce/annulment but Kat's board of directors do not want the scandal and say they have to try being married for a year. Kat despite not doing relationships is a great wife and is very laid back. Adena is very cautious and very reluctant. (Sorry that one was long).

Divergence from cannon after 1x05 Adena managed to get things somewhat back on track with Coco and so Kadena never pursued a relationship. It did not stop Kat from realising she was deeply on love with Adena. It's 2 years later Adena and Coco live in New York and Kat realising she is bi has been with many different people women and men. They are very close like best friends. It begins with Coco and Adena gettimg engaged. Also Kat is adamant she will not do relationships.

One more thing I loved what Adena was wearing in the kitchen seen before Kat went off to do the do with uber girl.

And I absolutely love everything Kat has been wearing this season. I think all the different blazers, what she wore when Adena tried to distract her about body counts, the gold blazer when they were in the club that gold and black dress at Jane's award, the red jumper and white jeans when cooking breakfast for Sutton, the jumper thing she wore in 2x07. Wardrobe have been killing it for Kat.

One thing I wanted to mention was how great the acting performances have been for both Aisha and Nikohl throughout this season but we really saw it on the last two episodes.

In 2x06 the way that Aisha delivered Kat's confession (yes we all hated that she cheated) but the nervous blurting, the panic and then combine that with Nikohl's reactions, her body language and her facial reactions it was so painful but so stunning to watch. The lack of music in their scenes just their performances to really set the scene. It was spectacular. Then in the scene where Kat comes back to talk with Adena, the stillness Nikohl uses to play Adena and the breathlessly anxious way Aisha plays Kat. It was heart breaking and yet absolutely gorgeous performances.

With 2x07 I know people have strong feelings about the episode but when I focus on the performances of Aisha and Nikohl it was beautiful. The lunch table scene the way they played that awkward tension was fantastic we were coming into the middle of their convo and could tell this was awkward. The slightly nervous but determined way that Nikohl played Adena, that Adena was trying to come across unaffected but you could still hear and see the hurt. Then I loved the way Aisha played Kat she looked terrified of what Adena had to say, I genuinely think Kat thought Adena was going to suggest a break, the confusion on her face when Adena suggests an OR and she even drops her fork. It was superb. The bewilderment.

Then later the kitchen scene where you can tell Kat feels awkward and very nervous as she sets up the hook up and the way Aisha plays the slight reluctance and anxiety I loved. Then the way Nikohl plays Adena understanding Kay's position all the fans do not and despite the situation they are in the love Adena has for Kat shines through and he complete trust Kat has is very clear. Again brilliant performances.

Finally, the last scene I know many of you think a lot of things but I actually found that scene quite breathtaking, firstly the lack of light and the way their faces glow. Then the nervous and separate way Aisha plays Kat wanting to talk to Adena which to me is very sincere, the softness at which she talks to Adena, when she talks about it this seems the most comfortable Kat has seemed all episode. Then when she asks Adena for validation, it is clear she really trusts Adena with everything. I love the way Nikohl plays Adena's reluctance that turns into devotion, she loves Kat without a shadow of a doubt.

I mean honestly these two play off each other so well, you can feel the incredible chemistry that they have. You can tell they have put in work to get these characters just right.

I think Kadena will break up 2x09, they come back from road trip and either Adena is gone maybe with a letter or she says that they should be on a break. I think Kat may try and get her back but fail and I think season 3 will start with them broken up and Kat being with lots of women no attachment maybe out of heartbreak, who knows.

Yeah please don't start attacking Aisha, she is just doing her job and I have already seen an awful comment on You Tube. Please get a hold of your crazy and don't unleash it on her.

I have seen this before and it doesn't end well.

Also, those of you coming for the uber girl's looks need to get a grip, it is not okayntomtalk about her like that.

I could sit down and analyse Kadena and the situation they are in right now but I will wait till the end of the season to understand the arc of storytelling that's happening. I feel that when you look at things on an episode by episode basis you miss things. I will say I loved Aisha's acting in the open relationship convo with Adena. Her whole demeanour where you saw how nervous, confused and scared she was was brilliant. Also I know many of you are mad Kat wanted to tell Adena but I think some of you needed to stop villanising Kat and victimizimg Adena, rightly or wrongly they are both making decisions here that will probably be detrimental but nobody is forcing anyone. What is implicitly clear is how much Kat trusts Adena with everything and how much Adena loves Kat. Everything else well I will reserve my comments for the end of the season.

One more thing this is a TV show, they were bound to have something come in between Kadena, it is TV and it happens to almost every couple. You can only have fluffy times for so long. The point of representation I thought is honesty and reality.

Another thing, Nikohl continues to kill it, I really love how well they play off each other, real skill.
