Mizisua represent the curse of having another half. The problem with real, honest to god soulmates
Mizi is human (well, kinda. thanks zomst.) And that humanity puts her self-preservation instincts forward. She wants to live, to fight, "to crush and not be the one who gets crushed" for a change. In alnst, she doesn't fight Sua on her plan of self-sacrifice, and in zomst, she grows distant from Sua through her career. Her very being itches to continue onward, and she'd rather take a step forwards at the risk of becoming a husk of herself, than potentially fall backwards. In the first rounds of both alnst and zomst, Mizi is a victim of the circumstances that befall her, and she becomes trapped in a system despite having prior knowledge to evade it Sua is the prime example of love turned to obsessive devotion. She isn't secure enough in herself like Mizi to save her skin independently, nor does she have a combination of that and her love, pushing to find a way through together. If she had, she wouldn't have been rehearsing her death in alnst, or she might've continued pursuing her kpop dreams after Mizi's debut in zomst. No, instead she faces her death head-on. Mizi's salvation at only her expense? Surely that's a price worthy of being paid. And, in the case of zomst, when Mizi falls from grace, Sua is right there waiting for her no matter how much she was mistreated or ignored. She makes sure Mizi bites her, makes sure they stay together, because that's all she wants now, really They are each others' everything, which inadvertently makes them a victim of the other. The Karma heart scenes put it best: they are complete with each other, but they are only complete with each other. Mizi rightfully puts herself first, lacking Sua's obsessive dependency, but this in turn hurts her more. Sua's presence might have grounded her, but she finds herself alone. Sua stays truer to the joint nature of their relationship, but consequently loses any agency of her own. Mizi consumes every aspect of her life, even at her own detriment Even if they are both happy for a time, no one wins
