For those who need it and not on the discord here is the update for hivemind directly from the discord message along with a image snippet of the message itself!
I wanna make it clear just incase there is any confusion, I am not affiliated with hivemind in any other way than just being a system that uses the app and want to share it!
Okay so before I go into my first impressions, and new pros and cons list ect. I'm prefrencing by saying studio still isn't out yet this is just a look into v1.1 more specific my first impressions of the update, what I see is still buggy, what we are glad is changed, and what we hope to see in the future of the app. We want Hivemind to succeed and the fact the dev is taking a break now that 1.1 is out is a good thing!
Now, onto the review!
One thing we noticed is if you had the unfortunate hassle of your phone denying to update Hivemind and this needing to reinstall it completely, the import data only imports things like members (with their information), sub-systems, tags, custom fields, and journal entries. Our system info/profile and tracked relationships didn't transfer and unfortunately it is a bug with no real fix besides redoing it. To us that's not that big of an issue, it didn't take us that long to put it in but for those who have a lot more in system relationships than we do it could be a problem.
Now onto the pros and cons!
Pros:
β’ All of the pros listed in last post! (Linked at end of this post.)
β’ Lightmode now works on a majority of the app! (It is still buggy on part of the subsystem area but words are at least legible unlike before.)
β’ Tags are now folder like and you can see who is apart of that tag!
β’ There is now an optional toggle in settings to see alters in groups on the members page rather than a long list. (Though as of right now it is only sub-systems.)
β’ More cohesive front tracking with mood tracking.
β’ Inner chat now has rooms! You can have different chat rooms for organization.
β’ Images in inner chat now show!
Cons:
β’ Still no sub tags. (A planned addition though.)
β’ Now when making a new alter profile/editing an existing one tags are listed alphabetically instead of how they were entered. (A work around for now that I have found is numbering them like so - 001.{tag name}... 002.{tag name}. The 0's are there as buffer and are needed if out have more than 9 tags otherwise you 10 will me next to 1.)
β’ Tags and custom fields still aren't sortable and this still need to be deleted in order to edit the way they are listed.
β’ Members list is now broken down into pages rather than a flowing list. (Not the end of the world list mildly annoying for us with a larger system. We hope to see a toggle option for that at some point.)
β’ Journal area is still cluttered if you have many tags.
β’ Inner chat is still having sizing/display issues on some phones.
β’ The app is still private but that is to be expected.
A lot of these were just our own grievances and should be taken as subjective. The problems we have you might not see as problems. As your system will most definitely work different from ours.

So we've been using hivemind for a bit now and would like to make a little update review thingy. Currently as of making this v1.1 is not out tho is planned for the end of April start of May IIRC from the discord. Now onto my thoughts and grievances.
Overall we are loving the app as a whole as it stands. It gives the best of the features we loved from Simply plural, Octocon, and Ampersand.
Pros:
β’ Inner chat.
β’ Image markdown support.
β’ A dedicated area for journaling.
β’ PROFILE BANNERS!
β’ Sub-sys tacking via a tree.
β’ Relatively easy relationship tracking.
β’ Ability to archive alters/members.
Cons: (Most of these are bugs or features that are simply missing but have been planed or talked about with interest)
β’ Currently the app is private and thus you cant as of right now have friends or share your front with others through the app. (This is a talked about feature that as far as I'm aware the dev is willing to look into a little later.)
β’ Light mode, while works on most of the app, doesn't work in the profiles. (A known bug that is hopefully to be fixed with the next update.)
β’ Images in the chat area don't show. (Also a bug as far as Im aware, I am however unaware if it is going to be fixed with the next update.)
β’ The chat feature has a sizing problem on some phones. (Also a known bug.)
β’ The journal is a little clunky and cluttered if you have a lot of tags.
β’ No sub tags/folders.
β’ Custom fields and tags can't be reorganized without deleting them and reentering them.
β’ When transferring from Simply plural, folders are transferred over as subsystems. (We got around this by manually transferring over tho unfortunately we still aren't done with it yet)
Now a lot of these are subjective and other people will find things that I like aren't for them and that's fine, this is just our opinion based on how we like to customize, organize, and share our system. Once v1.1 is out we will likely be buying studio which is the version with more features and well do a post like this about that one to give our honest opinion of it but as it stands with how we love Hivemind as is I'm sure we'll be raving about studio in no time!

Since hivemind doesn't currently have subtags we figured we'd show how were dealing with it as a large system. We personally didn't like how the SP to Hivemind data transfer is handled so we've opted to manually transfer. Of course we understand that isn't an option for everyone but considering the data transfer shifts sub folders from SP to sub-systems on Hivemind that just wasn't going to work for us so under the cut well detail out how we are moving over our folders, sub folders, and sub-sub folders. (Yes, we organize that much.)
Two things first!
1. Out Hivemind is set to light mode, no you do not have to use light mode, this can be used with dark mode as well!
2. You'll notice in the image examples we use a special font, no the font is not necessary to the layout we just like the look of it!
For this we'll use the terms "parent tags" and add "sub" if were talking about a tag that we consider a "parent tag" that needs to fall under a different parent tag.
The way we use "parent tags" is nothing will actually be in them on Hivemind, they are just used for organizing. Layer one "parent tags" will get a name layout similar to this:
Side note if you was a color scheme to what I have we use hexcode #ffa0d4. *side side note if you use dark mode with high contrast you'll have to shift the color slightly as this hexcode skews super light.*

With so many Plurality/System friendly apps shutting down we want to post something, plural kit , Ampersand, and octocon(for good reason with what information about octocon has been reviled) shutting down there are not many places to transfer to, so we are sharing what we came across with hivemind, from those coming from simply plural it has a very similar setup and markdowns that can be used for customization, while also having some same features that were praised in ampersand, you can transfer data from tupperbox, pluralkit, and simply plural, be warned however that previous logs will not be saved and some things will have to be transferred over by hand. but it is worth it. there is so many features that I have not mentioned that really makes hivemind stand out and we recommend checking out their linked site and discord. Hivemind is Compatible for Android, IOS, Windows, and Linux, we hope this finds other systems and helps them. - Traveler ΰ»κ±
From what we have seen hivemind is a really good offline alternative and from what we've heard they are also looking into going online but we are not entirely sure about that so plz don't quote us on it. Also has of currently reposting this the discord server invites are paused *if anyone as success with it please let us know we want into the support discord*

If y'all haven't heard, Simply plural is being discontinued. It's a sad day for us as that was our primary app. However we have switched over to octocon and it seems... Okay... I'm not a fan of the lack of customization and no chat feature but I can look past that for now, as far as Im aware octo is still a relatively small thing ATM. Here's to hoping we get image markdown and more customization abilities to octo soon, I need my blinkies, banners, and emojis on my folders.
Edit: I want it to be known we are still going to make our silly little graphics! They have never been only for sp, octo is planning to add markdown support, and we really love making the graphics! So nothing about our Tumblr is changing!

"This {noun} isn't a {noun}! Do not treat them as such!" userboxes using terms kid/sys-kid and little/middle. These are heavily self indulgent but we figured maybe someone else could also use them! (the reason there are "kid" variants is because we as a system use that term more than sys-kid when referring to child alters, similar how we just use teen instead of sys-teen. It's just a preference so we made "kid" as an option just like the sys-kid variations! And because not all our kiddo altars are littles/middles and vice versa)
