ok so you know how certain cultures have very colorful traditional wear? I’m Indian, for example, so I’ll use that. When I wear traditional clothing, it’s always very bold, and the cloth will be like, cyan and red and fuchsia with a peacock feather pattern. But it’s cohesive somehow, and it works.
From what we’ve seen in the Shadow and Bone show, Zemeni clothing is also very vibrant in color or pattern or both. so when Jesper dresses the way he does, in the outrageous Barrel flash, maybe it’s because he’s used to such colorful fabrics, and that’s the best translation that he can have for what he might wear at home.

I genuinely want to know if Jesper`s way of acting when he`s about to make an important step in his relationship with Wylan was Kit`s input or a writing/directorial choice. Because it`s bloody brilliant.
His eyerolls and sighs before saying words that he believes will make a difference in what happens between them are basically an equivalent of a deep inhale one makes before jumping into freezing water or plunging from a cliff. He`s scared of what could happen next, and I don`t think he`s sure himself which option scares him more - Wylan`s rejection or acceptance. By creating these pauses he`s kind of stalling but also trying to gather the courage to make that leap.
But once Jesper makes it, his eyes turn to Wylan and don`t look away anymore. On the contrary, he`s trying to take in as much of Wylan as he can. It`s almost like he`s telling him, 'Here, I laid my cards on the table. Would you lay yours?' Jesper is still thinking about the situation he`s in in terms of a gambling game - but this one matters so much, and he feels it with his whole being.
However, in the scene below it`s different:
Here Jesper still retreats inside himself for a moment - but it`s more to find the right words that to gather his courage. I believe that in this moment he`s so happy to have Wylan back that pretty much all worries about vulnerability and saying too much fly out the window. Pretty much but not all - he still goes for a metaphore about 'Daturma Ox things'. But Wylan gets him anyway - and that`s what matters, right?😊

So I thought I'd actually write something as a starting point for ways to watch and discuss Good Omens 2.
To be honest, if I had my druthers, Good Omens 2 would be released daily or weekly. There are mysteries and things to work out and speculate upon that build episode by episode. There are things to think about before the next episode begins.
I do not have my druthers* and when Good Omens 2 drops on the 28th it will drop all at once. Which is good news for people who want to binge and don't want to talk about it until the end.
But there will be people who won't want to go online and have people who watched the whole thing spoil or discuss or reveal. There will be people who will watch Episode 1 and puzzle and hypothesize and imagine. And then, when they are ready, watch Episode 2, and ponder and suppose and so on.
So I'd suggest that the G02 fandom think about ways to be able to discuss episodes up to a certain point. That there's an episode 1 group, and episode 2 and so on, with spoiler warnings, taking you through episode 6, by the end of which most of your questions will have been answered.
I'm throwing this out in a post for people to discuss, come up with suggestion, ignore or reject. There may be ways to make it work, there may not.
Mostly I want people to be able to talk and guess and trade their ideas without being squashed by those who have seen it and without squashing people who are not up to that point.

She would get a little cabin between Ravka and Fjerda, living by herself (as she cannot handle losing any more people) and just… existing. She grows her own food and tends to a garden, probably has picked up any skill possible and works to perfect it, and has little memorials for each of the Crows.
However, eventually she gets found by a group of children from a nearby town. They first come hearing rumors of a corpse witch, and seeing the cabin they dared each-other to get closer. Nina notices this and decides to mess with their mischievous acts. She gets the skeleton of a rat and manipulates it to crawl towards them… This freaks out the children and they run off.
Of course they don’t stay away. They return a few days later and see Nina outside with her garden. One brave soul creeps forward and asks her to show them how she controls the skeletons. So, she does after some hesitation. She feels the ground and rises the bones of a few rodents, showing the children her powers. They aren’t scared, and instead are in awe.
In the next coming days, the children keep returning to watch these “puppet shows,” and occasionally brought others. It was then that Nina turned from being a witch in the woods to being a small adventure for children to go see. As the years go by, they keep coming back. As teenagers, these children begin to bring gifts to Nina, and she accepts them. But she accepts them knowing her heart would end up breaking.
And it does. As she watches these children grow to teenager and then adults, as she watch some move away and some remain, watch as she was invited to weddings, as they got married and had children… as those children went to visit Nina… And then as they all eventually passed away. The seasons changed and yet Nina remained still.
She attended their funerals, of course. But she couldn’t stand hearing their dead whispers or feeling her power curl around their bones. So she went back to her cabin and grew a stranger once more to the nearby towns. She made sure go scare all that came near, made sure to keep her own immortal soul protected.
…
At least until six brave (or foolish) teenagers decided to have a heist on her cabin with their own curiosities… but that story would be for another day.

I've been very excited about Good Omens S2. And since I was already perusing Neil Gaiman's blog ( @neil-gaiman ) for extra info on the GO world, I decided to start throwing answered Asks on a doc. It was mainly for me and my friends for reference, but I finally decided to post it to here, too.

It’s the middle of the night when Jesper gets home. He’s shaking. The place he ended up at kicked him out an hour ago and he’d wandered the streets of the Barrel like they were new, unfamiliar, like he had never seen them before. Once, that place had been home to him. Now it was just another reminder of his mistakes.
He’s broken, he knows this, some part of him is missing. Something he will never get back. He still hears the sound of the Makker’s wheel spinning when he’s trying to fall asleep.
Selfishly, he hopes to find Wylan asleep, unaware of how late Jesper stayed out, unaware that he came home bruised and broke, as he often did when he still lived in the Barrel. He’d just hit a hundred days without gambling. He counted every single one. Maybe it was that number that scared him. Maybe when Wylan told him he was proud of him, Jesper had wanted to crush that feeling now so it wouldn’t hurt more later. Or maybe he just wanted to gamble. He can come up with an endless list of reasons for why he’d done it, none of them matter. He wanted to gamble so he did. Simple as that.
Wylan’s in the kitchen. Jesper’s heartbeat picks up when he sees him. He almost expects Wylan to look different, but he doesn’t. He’s wearing the same clothes he was wearing when Jesper left. For a moment, he just stands in the doorway. He wants to cross the kitchen and crumble into Wylan’s arms, beg him to talk about this tomorrow, just so he can have one more night before Wylan kicks him out for being a fuck up. He doesn’t deserve that, though, he knows this.
“I’m sorry,” he says but it comes out garbled, different, like he hasn’t spoken in days, so he clears his throat, tries again. “I’m really sorry, Wylan.”
“I was worried,” Wylan tells him. He sounds tired and almost calculated, like he’s picking his words very carefully. Jesper wants to look at him and can’t bear to.
“I know,” it’s a stupid thing to say. Jesper’s never been the smart one. What will he do when Wylan no longer wants him? Will he go back to Novyi Zem or the Barrel? Will it matter?
“Do you need anything?” Wylan asks and Jesper startles, turns to frown at him in confusion. “Like a medik,” he explains, motioning to Jesper’s face. The bruises must be obvious, then. Jesper didn’t have the courage to look at his reflection after. He shakes his head. He wants it to hurt. He needs a reminder.
“I need you to forgive me,” he tries, instead. Too quiet. Maybe he’s hoping Wylan doesn’t hear him. Maybe he wants to pretend he’s above begging. “Or at least give me until morning.”
“What?”
“If you’re going to kick me out, please don’t do it tonight,” he says. He’d go back. He knows this. He’d sell the clothes on his body and anything else he could find.
Wylan crosses the room to him. For a second, Jesper imagines Wylan pushing past him, telling him to pack his things and leave. Instead, Wylan’s hand finds his.
“I’m not going to kick you out,” he says. Soft. Softer than he should be. Jesper blinks and then blinks again. Swallows. In front of him, Wylan stills, patient, waits for his words to settle.
“Why not?”
There’s a long moment of silence and then Wylan tightens his grip on Jesper’s hand and pulls him towards a chair in their kitchen.
“Saints,” he mumbles as he directs Jesper to sit down. “Do you really think I’d kick you out after one mistake?”
“I’m a fuck up. The mistakes will keep coming”
“You’re an addict,” Wylan corrects, firm. “And we’ll deal with them when they do.”
“But-”
“No buts, Jes,” he interrupts. “I’m going to make you tea and we’ll go to bed, okay?”
“Okay,” he says, but when Wylan goes to move away, Jesper doesn’t let go of his hand. “Just another moment,” he whispers. Wylan nods. Without thinking, Jesper leans forward against him, rests his forehead against Wylan’s chest. “I know we need to talk about it.”
“We do,” Wylan agrees, his other hand coming up to rest on the back of Jesper’s neck. “But we can do it tomorrow.”
“Before I do this, I need you to know that I have always loved you,” Jesper says, turning to look at Kaz. There’s something in his eyes, something like excitement, like a thrill that Kaz doesn’t get.
“You’re saying this now?” he asks, unable to hide the surprise in his voice. Jesper shrugs at him.
“Never found a better time.”
“There were plenty-” Kaz starts but gets cut off by Jesper placing his +4 uno card on the table. Beside him, Inej gasps.
“Really?” she laughs and Kaz watches Jesper turn to wink at her.
“You’re an asshole,” Kaz tells him and leans forward to draw the extra cards from the deck. Jesper’s still smiling. “And we’re talking about this after the game,” he adds.

Unsure if you are aware of this update, but apparently someone got into the Twit api and believes that the "rate limiting" is actually a cover up by Elon bc they accidenlty pushed an update DDOSing their own site, which is why he says its "temporary" in his tweet. Not sure if Elon is actually trying to cover-up, or if the DDOS is an unintended side effect of the change

As far as I can tell, the folks advancing that theory have it perfectly backwards. The rate limit isn't an effort to address the self-DDoS situation: the rate limit is causing the self-DDoS situation.
In a nutshell, when you load up Twitter in your browser, two things are happening:
In response to your initial request, Twitter's server sends your browser the information it needs to construct the website's user interface (UI).
Once the UI has been constructed within your browser, it instructs your browser to dispatch a separate request, via the Twitter API, requesting content (i.e., tweets and ads) to fill itself with.
(It's actually a little more complex than that, because the response to the initial request may come pre-filled with a portion of the required content in order to speed things up the first time you visit your dashboard, but that's the gist of it, anyway.)
So, what happens now that the rate limit is in place?
Well, the rate limit doesn't affect the first request – it's not using the API, so your browser is able to construct the Twitter UI just fine. The moment you try to scroll your Twitter dashboard, however, that triggers the Twitter UI that's been constructed within your browser to ask the Twitter API for more content so you can keep scrolling – and that request is subject to the rate limit.
If you happen already to have exceeded your rate limit, that request is going to receive a response along the lines of "Error 429 – Rate Limit Exceeded". Here's the trick: while Twitter did update the UI to reflect the addition of a rate limit (i.e., they're not complete idiots), it turns out they did an incomplete job, and certain dashboard widgets don't know what to do with an error 429.
Now, the fun part: apparently, what the affected Twitter dashboard widgets are coded to do when they receive a response they don't recognise is simply to ignore it and try again. Further, nobody thought to impose a delay between attempts, so they retry immediately upon receiving the unrecognised error 429. For users with snappy Internet service, this can result in their browser making multiple attempts per second to retrieve content for the affected Twitter dashboard widgets, receiving (and ignoring) the same error code each time.
And that's how Twitter ended up accidentally ordering its own users to DDoS its API.
