Almost two years ago Afra learned the basics of handcrafted jewelry and since then she created her own studio at home. Her designs are so fine and all made of real silver and gold. Meet Annalies van Eerde, feltdesigner and owner of label ‘ZachtAardig’. Annalies is specialised in felting rare and undyed woolspecies from Europe. Instead of using the coat of a dead sheep, Annalies only uses the wool from sheperds she receives after the sheeps have been shaved. She cleans, combs and cards the wool by using hot water and organic soaps. Because of this routine, which is based on Mongolian felt traditions, the wool is starting to felt; the fibers are becoming one big piece. 

The collection of Annalies is just wonderful and with lots of different kinds of qualities and colors, it’s hard to choose which one is your favorite..! The felts are big, warm and just imagine you have a big, bright living room, these felts would look amazing! Maybe you already saw it on our facebookpage or instagram, but we’re very happy we’re representing Eco Felts in our Pop-Up Store. Next Sunday we’re organizing an exposition with the most beautiful felts of Annalies her collection. Will you be there? Sunday 16 march, 14.00 - 18.00h, Jan Evertsenstraat 4-8, Amsterdam.

Hippie style

Wow! This is a nice example of using a material in an unique and ecological way. Woody Skateboards are skate- and longboards made of trees from Utrecht which had to be cut because they where sick or just standing in the way..  Initiator Bas van Druten found an innovative way to recycle these trees and give them a new function. The boards have a vintage look and are all handmade and unique. Funny fact: every board is named after the street or place where the tree originally stood. We can’t wait till the sun is shining and we can ride through the city! Are you still in need of a skate- or longboard? Or do you want to extend your collection? From this saturday, Woody Skateboards will be sold at our Pop Up Store at the Jan Evertsenstraat 4-8, Amsterdam!
