The local- microwave(??)

Ok, so originally I headcanoned these three as just childhood friends, with Seymour and Beau being in a relationship and having drama bla bla. Now it’s much more complicated, so here’s my best explanation of it.

All three are from the same city and met in kindergarten. They all became friends and got into silly mischief

Coach gets sent to a boarding school for highschool that’s out of the city, so he can only see the other two in person during the summer and holidays (which is sorta complicated because his family was Muslim while Seymour and Beau were more Christian but that’s not really important). During this, Seymour and Beau realize they have a crush on eachother. Before attempting to make any moves, they come out to each other, and then later Coach.

Coach isn’t 100% aware of Seymour and Beau’s first relationship, but once he is, he’s chill with it. As time goes on, his family tries to keep him more focused on school and work rather than his own passions, so he’s unaware of all the break up drama the other two went to. In fact the three are barely talking at this point.

Seymour and Coach reunite in Fair City. Seymour fills Coach in with all the drama that happens. Coach is obviously sympathetic and says Seymour can crash at his place whenever he needs to.

After a bit of this arrangement, as well as Seymour shifting around having different performance related jobs, Coach begins to realize that not only is he bi, but Seymour is who awakened him. Coach comes out, but he refrains from admitting he has a crush because he knows Seymour isn’t really over what happened with Beau. That is until one night Coach gets super drunk and it accidentally slips out. They have a very awkward talk the next morning, with them coming to an agreement that they’ll just be friends with benefits.

Timeskip to three years after the events of the canon show (aka where my AU takes place). The two claim to others that they’re just “comfortable friends,” and they only refer to eachother as “friends with benefits,” despite it being super obvious they are way too lovey and affectionate for that. Seymour will never just admit he’d be willing to date Coach properly because 1. He’s still pretty hung up over Beau and 2. He’s convinced that he won’t be able to be the partner Coach “deserves” because of his complicated feelings on people and how he’s generally a mess. Coach won’t admit the fact it sort of hurts that the one person who feels mutual affection for him can’t fully reciprocate. TL;DR: they’re a disaster

Seymour and Beau are forced to be on a show together and it’s sorta screwing with them. They have moments where they can be genuinely friendly and enjoy each others company, but once they realize they’re becoming vulnerable again, they wall themselves off. Both of them still feel affectionate for the other, but they’re convinced the other hates them or will take advantage of their vulnerability. However, they do have moments where they subtly comfort the other. This culminates into them arguing with eachother a lot, and through these arguments they bit by bit end up admitting how they’re actually feeling. Finally, after a lot of time, Seymour breaks and has a meltdown where he ends up venting about everything he feels both about Beau and himself. For the first time, Beau completely and unabashedly comforts him back, also admitting to a lot of how he feels.

They don’t get immediate closure however because PLOT TWIST Miss Power is back. There’s so much stuff going on as Miss Power attempts to take over the city that they don’t really get to discuss properly, since Seymour and Coach are with of the rest of the villains trying to figure out what to do. Eventually, Beau gets put into a situation where he and the MIHAW kids are in danger, so Seymour goes to help save them. In the chaos, the escape, Seymour and Beau talk properly (as properly as they can), they makeup, they kiss, HORRAY. (They also get super injured and hospitalized but shhh let the gays win its pride month)

Seymour, Coach, and Beau are all hospitalized while the rest of the Miss Power shenanigans are getting dealt with. While they can’t communicate directly (both because they’re separate and because they’re in such bad condition they’d have trouble normally talking anyway), they have people carry messages to each other. Coach and Beau reconnect properly, and since they never really had beef with each other, anything they needed to deal with was settled easily.

Miss Power is defeated (Yayy), they fully heal (yayyy), and all the villains agree to be way more chill while the city is being rebuilt. Some of them outright quit crime. Seymour and Coach are sorta part of this, agreeing to not directly commit crimes, but they still help with organizing things related to the EVA. By now everyone pretty much knows just how close the two are, while they still haven’t completely reconciled.

In the meantime, Seymour and Beau are now official, and Seymour moves in to Beau’s place. They also agree to get therapists since they both have other issues they needed fixed

Despite all his healing, Seymour can’t help but feel gross with himself because even though he is happy to be back with Beau, he still has this nagging feeling of deeper attraction to those he’s close with. That is until someone explains what polyamorous means. He then explains how he feels to Beau, who says it’s fine if he has more partners as long as certain boundaries are met yada yada you get it

Once that clears up, Seymour finally goes to Coach and properly proclaims his love for him. Coach happily agrees to be boyfriends.

Coach still lives on his own in the apartment, however some nights Seymour comes over, or he comes over to Beau’s place. He and Beau aren’t really attracted to eachother, but they both acknowledge that they’re definitely more than just friends, which is where the Queerplatonic stuff comes in.
