The Harvester

White: "Why thank you for asking, I have one of them right here! Volt worms are- stop biting me - volt worms are troublesome little creatures that live in the walls of most facilities that produce electricity, which is what they feed off of by squeezing between contacts or chewing on wires. They also eat the sediment that flakes off of mica, and solidify it into tiny shards of purified crystals that are very hard to replicate in a laboratory! This new species I discovered can take higher levels of electricity than any previously discovered specimens, and could be the key to developing a more electricity-resistant silicate carbonite blend that could withstand super cell storms and protect against certain types of emp attacks! Yellow's been trying to figure that out for centuries!"

Blue: "Mmmm okay so I wasn't GONNA answer even if you asked me, buuut-"

"-since you have great taste and know how to flatter a legend like myself, I guess I can let your little infraction pass."

"........ But I mean you weren't entirely wrong, Yellow and White would be more into the sciency stuff, I just wanna know-"

"WHY did you send animals up there??? That's messed up, man."

White: "Fascinating, But you are still using burnable fuels, which cannot be good for the longevity of your galactic exploration programs... I am more impressed such a primitive species managed to get to their moon."

Yellow: "I do not have the time nor resources to keep an eye on Earth. And there is no 'plan'. Our deal with Pink assures that we never have to make contact with that planet again. And we're keeping it that way."

Blue: "Oh so ya ask Sparky and Priss about it but not ME?"

"Nah nah I get it. I'm just the entertainment Diamond, who cares about my opinion?"

White: "While studying a sapient organic species like humans would be a scientific first for gems..."

"Interacting with Earth is strictly forbidden, by Yellow's laws. And, none of us are willing to risk running into Pink, or appearing like we're planning another invasion."

Blue: 'Use one as a punching-"

"Whaddya take me for? A monster?"

Yellow: "... I don't care for them."

What made you decide to do the whole make a galactic empire with you leading it?

cuz from how you described it in your early years you basically had no clue what you were capable of and had to learn everything manually unlike how gems are now

What was the whole catalyst for you 4 at the start that made you realise you can build an empire

Heck did you even know your essences could make other gems in the beginning? Bet that was a fun surprise

While were at it what WAS thee first gem you created intentionally or unintentionally?

Yellow: "Well to start, we didn't emerge simultaneously. Each of us took our own time. White was alone for an unknown amount of years before she found me at the emergence site."

White: "I can not forget the look you gave me when we met, you thought Homeworld was alllll yours."

Yellow: "I had no reason to think anyone else was there except me!"

White: "Aside from the me-shaped hole in the rock."

Yellow: "Observation is a skill you forge, not a stars-given talent."

Blue: "Okay those two are getting nowhere. We started making gems because we wanted to see if we could. And we were bored."

"So. SO BORED."

"Then we started getting too busy to do things we wanted, so we wanted to start designating tasks to new gems to make our lives easier. So we tried to make more Diamonds like us by shoving our residue crystals in the ground. Didn't work. I started trying to tame the wildlife to entertain myself."

"It only worked a little."

"White saw some crystal carriers and their little colonies they had, with a matriarch and a bunch of smaller workers, and we thought we could do the same thing. So we stopped trying to make Diamonds, and tried to make something smaller. Our first successful gems were quartzes."

Yellow: "..."

"As close as two gems like us... were allowed to be."

Blue: "Eeeh, I don't really do the whole romance thing either. Seen a lot of it. Overrated, if ya ask me."

"If I'm gettin' attached to anyone, it's cuz I have fun beatin' them up in the Coliseum or goin' out for drinks and swappin' stories."

Yellow: "... Love is. A subject I don't care to discuss."

Blue: "C'mon Sp-... Yellow. It's been so long."

Yellow: "... If, I were to fall for someone-"

"They'd have to have met my highest standards. They'd be a gem that could keep up with me in all manners. Quick feet, with wit to match, and a weapon as sharp as their tongue. Someone loyal, true, and honorable. And..."

"They must be able to make me laugh."

"I hope that answers your question."

Yellow: "I TOLD YOU-"

"... Not to. Mention it in front of White, I suppose. She has forbidden us from talking about it. I wish to respect her wishes, and hopefully Blue will as well."

Blue: "... Yeah, nah. I'm not touching this one. Nobody likes being reminded of their biggest mistakes... especially White."

"We all did stuff during the war that we're not proud of."

[[OOC: Homeworld and the gem empire are ABOUT the same size as they are in canon SU! We usually posit Homeworld is fairly bigger than earth, and the capitol is about the size of the USA, if it was square. Now, on to the Diamonds!]]

White: "..."

"Ah. I. Seem to have left some tea boiling in the other room. Excuse me."

Yellow: "Oh dear."

"Ah, thank you for your question. Please don't mind White. The answer is simple- we do already have gems like this. Each of us have special operatives that were designed to handle larger amounts of different kinds of tasks, as opposed to a purposed gem like a Hackmanite that handles mostly one type of task. They manage gems, schedules, send paperwork to us, make smaller-impact choices on their own, etcetera."

"We usually call them 'Generals' or 'General Advisors'. They're the highest rank a gem can receive aside from a Diamond themselves."

"For example, General Topaz, if you know of her, runs a colony off-planet that's acting as a sort of... test, for a few concepts we're trying out. She handles the choices needed to keep her colony running, but, if she, for example, wanted to expand into the natural area around her colony, she would need to get approval from me. This is how we keep gemkind manageable."

So do you have special labs and zoo like areas where you keep your most unique and special specimens or do prefer to do research like that in the field and see how they react naturally?

White: "I tend to only keep delicate specimens in my laboratories, ones that would be in danger if allowed to roam free. Or, ones that would put the environment in danger."

"But if you are asking for my preference..."

"There's nothing more exhilarating than field research! Getting to see nature in its rawest form, to witness the dark and mysterious ecosystem that gem ecology has formed over millenia, it's intoxicating! Any chance I get to be out of the office, free among the wildlife is SUCH-"

"Ahem. Apologies. That was unprofessional."

"Field research tends to produce more natural results in some areas of study, but. Laboratory studies are generally more accepted and time efficient, which is what is. Most important to a busy gem like myself."

White: "Nothing like I expected, but everything I hoped for."

Yellow: "... Challenging."

Blue: "The most fun I've had in centuries.~"

"It certainly hasn't been easy to work with them... but."

Yellow: "As usual, Blue is running late, but she should be along in the next few days. Her paperwork is still unfinished."

Hema: "Hey! Things seem a little more hectic on Earth since the last time I was there, I hope you're all hanging in okay. It's good to see you guys again."

That means I'm finally back online and ready to dive back into projects like @the-harvester and @gemsontherocks ! Missed you guys, but I had to LOCK THE FUCK IN.
