Just to be clear, all of the characters on the Troll Moses do have classes and aspects

But since most (if not all) of them are adults at this point, the majority of them are fully realized.

So there might be flashback sequences where we see character development that is more in-line with their classpect’s journey, but most of the character development we see from the present point onward is at the tail end of all of that.

She’s one of the bitches that was with us from the beginning. Like, the BEGINNING beginning. Like, back when we lived in the fucking caverns.

All I know is he’s pretty quiet most of the time. Nobody can really tell what he’s thinking. All that we know is that he has some kind of batshit conspiracy theory about dream puppets and Alternia driving trolls insane. Or something. I only know THAT much because Tybian and Merser make fun of it, but it didn’t seem like they were making it up.

Honestly I think he kind of proves that you don’t need Alternia to be nuts, but that’s just my take. He just...gets WILD sometimes. Like, goes crazy goes stupid. Gets too excited during Uno or whatever and then just fucking smashes his chair and honks. But he always seems kind of embarrassed about it afterwards.

I think he’s actually really sweet.

You asked in points so I’ll answer with points

Yes, all trolls have grubscars, they’re the same color as their blood

On Alternia trolls have six-letter first names and last names. There’s basically no system and it doesn’t correspond to anything. Your kid also doesn’t need to have a six-letter name. If you want your kid’s name to mean something, that is always valid. You can also name them Sloomple or Fuckwad or some shit. Doesn’t matter.

Honestly dude the troll language is just the font Oblivion upside down and backwards. Don’t ask me how I know that. Also your kids won’t know how to speak it if they didn’t grow up around it.

There’s really not a lot of difference between the troll diet and the human diet. Uhhhh just a sec...okay so Luxane says that after they come out of their cocoons they will need food, a bath, some clothes, and LOTS of rest. Busting out of that shit is really hard. She also says that their first meal should have lots of protein? So like...nuts and meat and shit.

Trolls and humans share a lot of the same anatomy. Just think of your kids as humans, but with stronger bones and sharper teeth. Also your violet kid is gonna have gills on their neck and fins around their ears but that’s about it. About expressing emotions, trolls hiss when angry or upset. Other than that it’s basically just the same bullshit that humans do...we have the same expressions and we cry and stuff. (We do cry in our blood color for some fuckshit reason that I couldn’t tell you)

So, the kids closer to the red and green end of the spectrum will be weaker, less violent, and more...breakable than the ones closer to the blue and purple end of the spectrum. Trolls closer to red and green also have hotter body temperatures, which means that they will get cold easier. Your Violet kid will be much happier and healthier with access to water, but they don’t, like...need it to live. They have lungs and stuff. And they’re also so high up on the blood spectrum that they’ll live for a stupidly long time anyway. These are the differences you can expect - but it’s going to be really important that you love them all equally.

Only a few of the troll castes are even capable of being psychic. I know Luxane posted this whole Guide to the Hemospectrum, so if you’re curious about any of your kids, you can look under their blood color. But I’ll give you a quick rundown of what the typical power sets are anyway: BURGUNDY trolls are telekinetic, BRONZE trolls can commune with animals, GOLD trolls can do a fuck ton of weird shit but mostly just blast things and throw shit around, LIME trolls can sense, manipulate and soothe emotions, CERULEAN trolls can read minds and, in more extreme cases, control people, and PURPLE trolls can hypnotize and influence people, usually through dreams. Also, yes, some trolls are more powerful than others. I know you have a Lime baby and a Cerulean baby, so I’ll let you know that weaker Limes can only soothe emotions without being able to, like, sense them, and weaker Ceruleans are only able to read minds without controlling them. Also you know your kid’s psychic when they start using their powers, that’s about all I can tell you.

Uhhhhhhhhhh honestly the whole, like, definition of a mutation is that they’re pretty rare and unique. Sometimes you’ll get a weird blood color, sometimes you’ll get an extra eye, sometimes you’ll get wings...most of the time you can tell before they like...cocoon up. So I don’t really know what to tell you. Also, most mutations are caste-common. Only Golds can get voidrot, only Jades can become vampires, yada yada yada. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Gotta say, we aren’t exactly...careful with children on Alternia.

So first of all, I would like to sincerely thank you for bringing up some hitherto unaddressed concerns. I hope that you’re grateful that you live on a planet where this sort of consideration is natural!

The reason I was so concerned earlier was because cocoons on Alternia are rarely low-hanging enough to be jostled. And in our first attempt at a grub sanctuary, where we didn’t have stalactites, the children in the cocoons that fell or were moved too much...didn’t turn out very healthy. Usually by the time that they emerge, they are sturdy enough to handle things on their own - though we do always have a couple of young trolls in the brood who end up with scrapes or bruises from getting down.

About your kids, they’ll be able to get out of the cocoon just fine on their own. You can help them out if you want, I guess...it is an arduous process, but we typically leave them alone for it. Helps them grow stronger.

he managed to stick right to the lightbulb, and im not sure what i should do. its the light right above the kitchen table. should i just leave the coocoon be and not use that light for a while or is there a way i can move him without harming the coocoon? im fine with leaving him there and not using the light, i just want to know if thats the right choice.

First of all the whole crew is fucking dying laughing right now so thank you.

Provided the lightbulb is tightly screwed in and the fixture is secure, that should be just fine. Do keep in mind that his coccoon will actually increase in weight throughout his metamorphosis, so I would reccommend making sure that the light fixture can bear that much weight.

In all seriousness, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MOVE HIM. Avoid bumping into the coccoon or jostling it in any way. I would actually recommend moving the table from underneath the cocoon and eating somewhere else for a while, just to be safe. Your child is developing very rapidly right now, and the position that he is in physically is the only one suited for his development. You CANNOT let him fall - his brain is extremely vulnerable in this state, and located right at the bottom of the coccoon.

Warnings aside, I’m fairly certain that everything will turn out fine. He is of a very durable caste. But do be alert when he emerges - young trolls will typically try to go “out and up,” and get their bearings while perched on their stalactite. Indigos are quite sturdy, but your light fixture might not be.

Hello! Luxane here. Sorry for the delay, it’s been, uh.

This is an EXCELLENT question, first of all, so thank you for allowing me to answer it.

Grubs pupate very soon after they are born - about a week, though there are always some who are ready sooner or later than this. You can tell its happening when they start to look around for a stalactite to spin their cocoons on. If you don’t naturally have stalactites where you live, try to find some alternative, or make one. On the Moses we’ve been working hard to make artificial stalagmite rows and fasten them to the ceiling. But if you have a small enough amount of grubs, it might be sufficient to hammer some nails through a table, and let them build on the underside.

Expect pupation to last for about a week. The cocoon will start about two feet long, but grow to three feet throughout the process.

The young troll that emerges will be about three feet tall, with a bipedal four-limbed structure and two pairs of grubscars along their ribs. (These are the remnants of their grub legs, and will be the same color as their blood.) After pupation, they will be very hungry and in need of a bath - not to mention some clothing!
