I’m Trying My Best

Thana walked through the forest nervously, clutching her journal tighter. She’d told Luci what she was doing and she had her communicator but last time- no. She wasn’t thinking about it.

She looked around and intentionally stepped on a stick. When the child turns towards her quickly, she raised her hand and waves. Stopping, she scribbles down something in her book and holds it out to him.

The child immediately jumps at the sound of the stick snapping, wings instinctively folding tightly against his back. Thankfully he seems to calm down slightly at the sight of Thana, although he still looks a bit on edge. He hesitantly slides off the boulder and comes closer to read the book.

Studying him, Thana figured he probably wouldn’t hurt her. She turned her attention back to the book and writes something else.

Leo shakes his head.

He perks up at that.

Leo frowns slightly as he tries to think of any games he knows.

Thana smiles and writes something in her book.

He grins at that as he starts to flap his wings excitedly.

He starts to bounce in place, eyes practically glowing from excitement.
