Absolutely. After living in the rather cramped capital city all my life, this place reminds me of my home village. It feels more familiar than not.

I uh, went out again. To the forest. Not as deep this time. Found this cool spot. Maybe I can make a hide out there. I'd have to clean it out though. But it would be cool, no?

I have a small map of the forest in my head, containing all the places I've found so far yet. Taking the back of my house as a reference, the cottage and the mushroom rings were in the far north. To the east is the small lake outside my window, and to the west, it's just a lot of weeds untill my neighbour's yard starts. There's forest to the north of that as well.

I didn't go far north, but I went a little northwest and found this place. I've been tying red ribbons to trees to mark my way. I should probably start using different colours to differentiate places and directions...

Why am I doing all this? That's a great question. I have no fucking clue. I thought I might find at least ONE of them that abandoned the book, but I chickened out when I saw that creepy ass cottage. Why can't they just live in organised colonies like in India? It's stupid. I don't want to explore abandoned looking cottages and get covered in spiderwebs. Sigh.

I was a fan of his genius and used to have a crush on him when I was younger, haha. I was a silly kid. Nowadays, I genuinely thought that he was a myth. Not anymore, apparently.

Well what do you know. It's raining again. I don't mind, really. It's just stranger here. Rain back home came like relief after a hot week, fresh and cool. This... this feels like some force is trying to drown the country in constant downpour. Maybe it's just the weather for this week.

Man, I wish I had someone to ask about all this stuff. My neighbours look at me strangely. They have a kid around my age, and, he isn't interested in talking to some random kid that moved into his neighbourhood. Well, fair enough. I hope it's not some form of racism or something. Last time he saw me walk into the forest and uh, he probably thinks I'm a freak. Oh well, I wouldn't know. His opinion doesn't matter in the end anyways.

If not, I hope the students at least leave me alone. The principal told they had one of the biggest libraries in the whole district? If that's true then perhaps I don't even need friends! I'll just hole myself in there every free period. Do they have free periods is Irish schools? I dunno. I probably should've asked.

What did I tell you! A mushroom ring! Well, fairy ring. Multiple, actually. It's so cute. And the forest is beautiful! Oh, I love it so much. There's a lot of clay by a pond. And dried hay and stuff. Maybe I can make a cob oven from scratch. That would be very fun, I think. My equivalent of a 6-year-old finding it fun to play in the mud. I swear to god if it rains again.

I haven't begun going to school yet! I still gotta get my books and uniform. I'm probably gonna start next week, maybe?

I like the view from my window.

Wow. That felt nice to say. An actual window. One that can let in natural light and fresh air. No more of my stale room at the back of the apartment complex. Maybe shifting was a good idea?

I'm going to miss my colony. I don't think there are any above ground in Ireland. I'll have to try their traditional methods to contact them... Well, time to go research Irish mythology on fairies. If I can find the time...

I have a feeling that this school year will be very difficult to adjust to. I don't speak English as often as I write it. Oh, well. It's just a matter of activating the speech center of my brain, no? I already know the language just fine.
