Basic somewhat idea around this being in the 30s, with detective and slight supernatural elements mixed in from many things I'm taking inspo from. (I thought of this after watching Spider-Noir, very good show)

Keith is a (secretly) half demon and human hybrid who's struggling in his mystery business before suddenly dabbling in the mystery fire that burned the Joey Drew Company years ago and somehow finding a living toon, Evelyn. They both team up to figure out what other mysteries the company was hiding while also figuring out other mysteries, Keith's hybrid origins, and what really happened to the company those years ago.
