More Than A Warrior

Sokka’s mouth dropped open, though the grin fighting at the corners of it ruined any chance of him looking truly serious. He reached forward to take the block from her fingers, squinting at it like he’d somehow forgotten what he’d written.

“Oh, wow. Crazy coincidence.” His voice was thick with badly hidden amusement as he glanced back up at her flushed cheeks. “Out of all the blocks in the whole tower. What are the odds?” He leaned back slightly, the smug look on his face cracked into something softer at the sight of her trying not to laugh at him. “You did agree to the rules, Suki. A warrior keeps her word.”

There was that spark in his eyes again then; that playful challenge she always managed to pull out of him so easily. “Unless,” he teased, dragging the word out, “the great Kyoshi Warrior is already backing down after one block?”

— | | 𝐇𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐋𝐘 𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐋 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐎𝐒𝐓 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐂 𝐖𝐀𝐘 , and Suki loved him endlessly , but | | this | | had to have been something else . Was he aware ? He had to have been , seeing as he looked at her with that glint in his eye that told this little block was | | mild | | compared to some of the others that awaited them .

❝ Is it a crazy coincidence ? Or , did you know | | exactly | | where you placed all your blocks , and this one was exactly where you wanted it to be ? ❞ Suki asked with a tilt of her her head as she watched him take the block from her grasp and discard it with his . If this was how he wanted to play , then who was she to stop him ?

❝ No , no . You're right , rules are rules . And , a Warrior . . . ❞ her fingers found the hem of her shirt then she pulled up , exposing her chest binding , with the rest of her torso bare . ❝ . . . Never breaks her word . ❞ She threw her shirt | | somewhere | | in the room , then leaned back on her hands as she looked at the tower with her own playful smirk dancing across her lips .

❝ Your turn , Mr . Warrior . ❞

Sokka sat cross-legged on the floor beside the carefully stacked tower, turning one of the wooden pieces between his fingers with a grin. “Okay, so the rules are simple. We take turns pulling pieces out without knocking the tower over. Easy enough, right?” His eyes flickered up to Suki’s, amusement warming his face. “Except every piece has something written on it.” He tapped the block lightly against his palm. “And whoever pulls it has to do whatever it says.” A crooked smirk pulled at his mouth.

“Could be a kiss on the cheek, taking off a piece of clothing, or...” He leaned back on one hand, “And before you ask, yes, I made sure they get hotter the more unstable the tower gets.” He slid the first block free with exaggerated care, holding it up between two fingers before leaning in to place a lingering kiss behind her ear.  “Your turn, @thatfcngirl.”

He had set up this game perfectly , every piece lined up without any flaws . She'd played it before — taking one piece from the tower , ensuring that it never faltered , or else there was a loser . She didn't mind the game , but Sokka seemed to have changed the rules , and it made her eyebrow raise .

❝ You wrote on every piece in the tower ? ❞ She asked , watching the way his piece | | rolled | | within his calloused fingers . ❝ How long did it take you to do this , Sokka ? ❞ She laughed a little , but she knew that smile . That smile of his , the kind that waltzed between charm and mischief , told her that the tasks on those blocks were | | anything | | but innocent .

❝ Whatever it says , huh ? Alright , I think I can keep up with this game . ❞ Or , so she thought . . . Until his lips lingered against the sensitive skin behind her ear , and his voice purred in such a way that it made her eyes flutter . ❝ As you wish . . . ❞ She then looked at the tower and gently pushed a block until it wiggled loose on the other side . She carefully pulled it , then read the words , her cheeks deepening as she held it up to him .

❝ | | Sokka | | . ❞ She playfully groaned as she looked at the little block that said , ❛ take off your shirt . ❜ She held it up to him , tilting her head to the left . ❝ Really ? ❞

I was feeling bad about the last (unposted) suki drawing i did, so i did this scene trace/redraw.

Suki smiled gently as she looked up towards the stage , something in her resolve softening as she laced her fingers with Sokka's . ❝ I'm sure she's nervous . It's not every day she does something like this . ❞
