Aang: 

Fluttershy because of his time with the monks he is caring and gentle. He's also a vegetarian and believes all life is sacred. Pacifist. He stresses how much the monks taught him that even the tiniest bug has great value. (Moon) ELEMENT OF KINDNESS. Aang is always going to try and sort out conflicts and his number one reaction is to be kind and giving. He struggles to stand up for himself sometimes which is why he initially struggled so much with earth bending. I also think its ironic that he’s an airbender and fluttershy is a pegasus. 

Pinkie Pie because he’s silly and is always going on random side quests instead of focusing on the main goal (seen especially in S1 on their way to the north pole). He’s ‘just a goofy kid’. He thinks about things from different angles like in Omashu with King Bumi. (Rising) ELEMENT OF LAUGHTER. He prioritizes his childhood and wishes that he got more time to be just a kid. He doesn’t like the responsibility that comes with being the avatar.

Twilight Sparkle because he is the main character and the avatar so he has this responsibility on him like when she becomes an alicorn its unheard of and he isn’t allowed to be just a normal kid with his friends like he wishes he could be. Living forever and past lives. (Sun) ELEMENT OF MAGIC. He is the avatar and he has to deal with that.

Sokka: 

Rainbow dash because he’s very snarky with his humor and can appear sharp at times. He’s insecure deep down but masks it by saying how great he is. He’s competitive like in the kyoshi warriors episode he doesn’t want to believe that anyone would be able to take him down, but sometimes he overestimates his abilities and gets forcefully humbled. Big Sports fan like in the blind bandit where he idolizes the bolder because he likes what these professional athletes represent. He also idolizes the men of his tribe and sees them as being an ultimate goal that he can reach and eventually he does get to ‘become a man’ and fight alongside them. His motivation his reason for fighting has always been to make them proud and become one of them some day, the same way that rainbow is so obsessed with flying because she wants to be along side the wonderbolts one day. ELEMENT OF LOYALTY. He would do anything to protect his friends. (moon)

Pinkie Pie because he’s seen as being comedic relief and a lot of the time they don’t take him seriously but really he’s the one who has the best plans and he just knows things a lot of the time. He’s not especially good at anything. Creative and has different ways of looking at things that always stand out and help them in the end. (Sun) ELEMENT OF LAUGHTER.

Twilight Sparkle because he is very logical and doesn’t believe in any of the curses or spirit world things until he actually sees them. Makes the plans and does the research needed for example finding the maps and things and creating the invasion plan. He doesn’t believe in predictions such as Aunt Wu which mirrors Pinkie’s ‘pinkie sense’ which Twilight doesn’t believe in and keeps obsessing over proving false. He loves science. He loves to have a good time but will never let that distract him from the main goal at hand. He’s goal oriented and has a case of ‘destination’ fever according to the nomads in the cave of two lovers episode. While his friends may perceive him as being fun and goofy, the characters they meet in passing probably find him to be very serious. He is willing to pass by on smaller details to focus on the bigger picture. (rising) ELEMENT OF MAGIC does not fit him.

Katara: 

Rarity because of her interactions with Toph especially in the chase, tales of ba sing se, and the run away and her attention to detail and fights with sokka such as in the great divide. She’s objectively very pretty and cares about being pretty and feminine so people write her off but she’s actually very strong and capable. Her parents weren’t present in the picture so she grew up being fiercely independent and didn’t get to be a kid for very long while her brother was still able to contribute to the tribe as well as keep his carefree nature. Very high strung. Takes care of her sibling. (Rising) ELEMENT OF GENEROSITY. She would give the clothes off her back if it would help a friend in need. She will never turn her back on someone who needs her. The painted lady, Haru. She is giving of her time and energy. 

Twilight Sparkle. She has that motherly energy where she feels the need to correct people all the time and guide them in the right direction. She has strong leadership qualities and is very intelligent and its obvious right away that she’s smart. If she was in school I know she would run that shit like the navy. In the desert she keeps everyone together even when they’re going through their own personal battles and she uses the stars to guide them through. She tells them they’re getting out and doing it together whether they like it or not. ELEMENT OF MAGIC she’s the one who is always giving the important speeches about hope and reaching out and helping people throughout the world. She can be seen as bossy and annoying and a lot of people dislike her but ultimately she is a very necessary component for the group. (Sun)

Fluttershy because she will never turn her back on someone who needs her even if its inconvenient or goes against the greater good of the mission they’re on. For example helping the fire nation fishing village in the painted lady. She is willing to lie if it means getting to do what she thinks is right. In Swarm of the century fluttershy hides the parasprites because she has compassion for them and thinks they’re cute even if they are destructive. She is quick to trust but once you cross her once she won’t easily trust you again. Like with Zuko or the dragon in dragon shy. She doesn’t have the same type of connection with animals but she does look out for the little guy always. Element of kindness she is kind and she always thinks what she’s doing is right because it is kind to someone else. She tries to preserve her compassion for others in the midst of a war even when everyone else is telling her that her kindness doesn’t matter. (Moon).

Toph: 

Apple Jack because of her role with Katara and the way that she isn’t afraid to get dirty she likes the dirt she likes being messy. She is rough and tumble and strong and capable. They know that they can rely on her for big jobs and she will get it done. Hard worker. She resents the idea that women have to be a certain way and because of her gender or the expectations of others she has to be feminine and pretty and quiet. She has to learn with the help of her friends though that being feminine isn’t a bad thing and she can be whatever she wants to be. Her and Katara have a lot to learn from each other in this regard just like rarity and apple jack. She’s stubborn like an earth bender and faces all of her problems head on. She doesn’t try to think of some way to make it easier for herself, she just does it. (Moon)

Rainbow Dash. She is cocky and she knows who she is. She has the skill to back up the claims that she makes and everyone knows how good she is at what she does. She is sassy and snarky and can be sharp at times and she struggles to communicate her emotions. Element of loyalty. She may seem like she’s looking out for herself at times where she doesn’t want to or feel the need to pitch in to group efforts but thats because shes so used to doing everything herself that she doesn’t understand why other people wouldn’t do everything themselves as well. She also will stay focused on the goal and put in the hard work. She’s also stubborn like an earth bender. She’s very competitive and even participates in high level sporting events. (Rising)
