"Sorry to burst your bubble, but Zuko paid more attention to Katara as a genocide survivor than Aang ever did."
people expect those affected by the fire nation's crime to be perfect victims while zuko's active participation and his family being directly responsible for katara's trauma so taking accountability on his part is literally necessary, like this is equivalent to saying zutaras paid more attention to zuko as an abused child than they ever care about aang or katara as genocide survivors (but it's facts) lol
Aren’t you the one who mocked an Iranian Zutarian last week while she’s been under bombardment for months
The first time you’re mentioning Iran btw
How many times do I need to mention Iran before I can call out zutaranti?
Hell…at least once but even then you’ll still be calling them out on something they didn’t even do.
"I love Zuko more than I fear you"
it's Maiko week on the other app so enjoy this quick art i did of adult Zuko and Mai ♡

If Aang can't care about Katara because of his trauma, then he shouldn't be in a relationship with her, perfect victim or not.
And I'm glad you're admitting now that it's necessary for Zuko to care, because the line is usually that he's "corrupting her" by doing things like helping her get justice for her mother's murder and kataangers usually say that he should just keep it to himself.
Also, analogies don't work when you say stuff like "how would you like it if I said this thing, which is true." I thought you were trying to prove the original statement wrong?
this is equivalent to saying zutaras paid more attention to zuko as an abused child than they ever care about aang or katara as genocide survivors
Except the part your quoting is about how the characters behave. We're pointing out what is written into the show and the attention the characters give to each other. Why wouldn't the show runners want Aang to give more attention to his Lady Love and her deepest pain than her "most hated enemy" does?
That's the point being made.
Your counter point has nothing to do with the show and everything to do with fandom, the fans and how we engage with the show. Yeah, I happen to care more about Zuko's history with his father than I do Sokka and his issues. Sokka is someone else's favorite. That's not my responsibility. Yes I care more about Katara and her struggle reconciling being a survivor at the cost of her mother than I do about Aang and his toxic positivity, barely bottled rage that he unexpectedly unleashes on those around him whether or not they deserve it. That's my prerogative as a fan of a fictional cartoon show. He can be someone else's favorite character. He doesn't have to be mine.
Do you have any argument that come from within the context of the show about how Aang cares more than the rest of the gaang about Katara and what the war has taken from her, especially since he was affected in much the same ways?
Or do you just want to try (poorly) to make zks look bad by making empty, flat statements about real people and who their favorite character is completely disconnected from the conversation at hand?
BEAUTIFUL! TWITTER NEVER DISAPPOINTS!
EVEN MORE BEAUTIFUL!
STAY ON TUMBLR WHERE YOUR ECHO CHAMBER CULT BELONGS BECAUSE YOU WOULDN'T BE BRAVE WHERE EVERYONE HATES YOU !!
Imagine only having motion on Tumblr of all places. Zk’s have resorted to posting thier schizo takes here (and on reddit) cause they know how badly they’d get dragged on grown-up apps

In Defense of Maiko
Some people, namely Zvtarians, say that Mai x Zuko's narrative function was to show the audience and to Zuko himself that he doesn't fit in the Fire Nation's imperialist regime. In book 3 Zuko comes back to the Fire Nation. It's everything that he's ever wanted, but it doesn't bring him peace. And Mai is his girlfriend during this time. So she must be one of the reasons to why he's so miserable, right? It's an understandable argument. In fact, it's one that I used to believe in when I still shipped Zvtara. But do I still stand by that take? Well, no.
I believe that Mai's narrative function during the first half of book 3 was to give Zuko someone to vent to. Iroh is in jail, Azula can't be trusted, and Zuko and Ty Lee's relationship is nonexistent. Mai was the person Zuko went to to seek help and to share his frustrations. To support this, let's have a look at the Nightmares and Daydreams episode.
In this episode, Zuko:
Spends all day at her house.
Vents about not being invited to the war meeting.
Vents once again after the war meeting didn't go as he expected.
And Mai was being supportive all the way through. Please note that when Zuko vents to Mai, that's how the show vocalizes his internal struggles. That's the narrative function of their relationship. Mai is Zuko's safe space, even if it doesn't always seem like she is.
(Edit: I also forgot to add Zuko confirming that Mai wasn't a part of the reason why his time in the Fire Nation was miserable):
But yeah, we need to address the elephant in the room. Mai and Zuko's relationship isn't always fun and games. They fight, they don't know how to make each other happy, they aren't perfect. But now that we've established that their narrative function is to be each other's safe space, all of these moments of toxicity ultimately boil down to just that. Moments. Like a real couple. Real couples fight, real couples sometimes don't know how to make each other happy and real couples aren't perfect. The imperfections of Maiko is what makes them realistic. And that's what I love about them.
I’d also like to briefly touch on the way people lazily interpret Mai’s “I hate the world” mindset and assume she’s somehow sucking the life out of Zuko because of it. Both Mai and Zuko grew up under a militaristic dictatorship, but unlike Zuko, Mai has had very little exposure to life beyond the Fire Nation, leaving her worldview extremely limited. How can she truly hate the world when she has barely experienced it? Isn’t it far more likely that her disdain is directed toward the oppressive environment and social structure she’s been confined to for most of her life?
There are plenty of popular characters who share this world weariness and emotional detachment similar to Mai (Wednesday Addams, Raven, Katniss Everdeen) yet no one seems to reduce them to sociopathic, soul sucking monsters— perhaps it’s because they aren’t the canon love interest the fandoms most revered male character, but what do I know?
Happy Halloween👻🍬🦇

“Congrats to drugs for winning the war on drugs” is a phrase that is simply not true at all when you look at what the purpose of it was.
It was not to prevent the spread of drugs, it was to funnel Black people into prison and permanently curtail voting rights, to keep a provisional Jim Crow that could deflect criticism long enough to get the average white moderate to accept it, and to make the average white liberal’s dreams of “reform” still include the same framework.
Felons can’t vote because certain drug crimes were labeled felonies, because those drug crimes could be pinned on Black people and passed by or reduced to a misdemeanor on whites. Because you could cite the amount of (drug) felonies in an area (Black neighborhood) and assign more cops, militarized cops (why it was called a “war”), because you could claim random searches of suspicious individuals (Black people, including children) were necessary. The war on drugs worked. It was never about the fucking drugs.

With vanilla extract being a meme, I wanted to share some black history of Edmond Albius a black slave who revolutionized vanilla pollination.
He used a technique he learned of pollinating melons to polinate the orchids to create the vanilla beans. Vanilla was rare and a luxury mainly due to only being able to be pollinated by its natural pollinator in Mexico.
unfortanely, he didnt receive any money for his discovery despite being called the main man who revolutionized pollination, he died in poverty...
everyone say thank you Edmond

How to write liars
Liars make stories twist, characters clash, and readers question everything. But not all liars are created equal. If you're writing one, ask yourself: what kind of liar are they? Because there’s more than one way to deceive…
Many types of liars
the one where you know they are lying
the one where you never know that they are lying
the one who lies about everything
the one who lies to themself
Writing Tips:
Know why they lie
Every liar has a reason. Is it survival, manipulation, shame, love, power, or habit? Understanding their motive helps you shape their behavior and emotional responses.
Use subtext and contradictions
Liars rarely say "I'm lying." Instead, they contradict themselves, dodge questions, or over-explain. Let their words and actions subtly clash.
Let the lie shape the plot
A good lie should ripple through the story. It creates misunderstandings, false alliances, and dramatic irony. Use it to mislead characters and readers.
Use silence
Sometimes the most powerful lie is omission. What a character doesn’t say can be just as revealing as what they do.
Play with perspective
Use unreliable narrators or shifting POVs to blur the line between truth and fiction. This keeps readers guessing and deepens the mystery.
Show consequences
How are characters reacting to someone lying to them? What happens if people find out a character lied?

Remember when y’all was hating on Olandria for calling out Huda infront all them people and Huda pissed and cried like Olandria had betrayed her and stabbed her in the back…..
Nah boo.. SHE JUST DONT PLAY ABOUT CHELLEY💖🤷🏾♀️
Huda wrote that card about Pepe liking and missing Hannah over Grayson and that hurt Graysons feelings rightfully so because it was mean and messy and UNSOLICITED.
Because really, Huda is still sour that Pepe never chose her so she aired out his dirty laundry. She did the same to Iris over Jeremiah.
How did Huda even know about that?? UNLESS… Chris told her in secret🎯DING DING DING
Chris was over here fake acting mad at Olandria KNOWING damn well that he helped Huda instigate the Pepe and Grayson thing. He’s a loser. Hudas secretary at best.
AND THE AUDACITY ON THIS NÎGGA TO come for Olandria thee stallion’ in defense of Huda knowing she needed that. Because he knows that Huda is fake and not a girls girl and instead he has chosen to be messy along with her because he’s bitter over Chelley and he knows Huda is jealous of Chelley.
Both Chris and Huda fake af and messy
