hc that he just blocked out the events of same as it never was idk
Yay! @multiisketch made me a really cool model sheet for a Kraangified 1987 Leo! Thank you so much!
The first pic is Multi’s work, the second is the original sketch that I did. And yes, I know that he’s missing some of the Kraang design elements, but since this is for 1987 Leo, I modeled him after the 1987 version of Krang!
Also, check out @getindumdums’ version of a Kraangified 1987 Leo! They did the idea first, but I didn’t actually realize that someone else had the same idea as me until after I already started my sketches.
@mkthedingus I can’t stop thinking about how a episode of 1987 TMNT has a similar plot as Toddler Mutant Ninja Turtles.
THEYRE SO ITTY BITTY HEHE!! I believe the original concept for the lost episode was based on this episode so you’re spot on.
I definitely agree with you! I do think your comic did 100% of a better job with the storyline though!

That one is actually a sort-a sequel episode of Back to the Egg!!! In this one only Michelangelo and Leonardo turn into tots!!! And they’re adorable!
Great episode! I personally liked it better than Adventures in Turtle-Sitting.
I’m glad that people actually know about and remember those old 1987 episodes!
I’m pretty bummed that Leo was a turtle tot every time. I would have loved to see an episode where he has to take care of some turtle tots; perhaps some sort of flip from Back To The Egg where Raphael and Donatello are kids and Michelangelo and Leonardo are adults.

A present for @theelvishfiddler who runs the @heretherebeturtles-comic.
You do such an amazing job on every panel of HTBT and I’m super excited to see what comes next!

Hmm… I wonder if Raph has anything to do with that broken arcade cabinet…

Just a random idea that I had today:
A parody that I thought of would work for It Takes Two:
It Takes Three
But actually...
It Takes Two focuses on repairing Cody and May's relationship. But... what if this happened because they needed to learn more about their daughter?
Now... let me compare this to TMNT 2012. In the show, Leo, Raph, and Donnie, while they do get mad at each other sometimes, they have a sort of respect for each other. There's not really a time where one/two of them looks down on another. But with Mikey.... yeah, it's kind of bad. So bad that they repeatedly slap him, don't believe him, or treat him like a kid. While something like this did happen in 2003, there were times where the other turtles treated 2003 Mikey fairly and with respect. 2012 however, there aren't moments for Mikey to shine, or rather moments where the respect is earned and kept. Any respect that 2012 Mikey earns is usually thrown away for the sake of the episode ending with a joke (Invasion of the Squirrelanoids is the only episode that I can think of where Mikey had a moment to shine and wasn't immediately thrown away, but still, it was just mentioned for a couple lines and then boom, plot twist about the Squirrelanoids).
So... what if due to some leftover Kraang tech (something that the Kraang were working on, but never finished developing, but then Donnie ended up finding) turned the turtles (minus Mikey) into little turtle action figures? Each figure was made so that when someone is looking at them, the turtles can't move, so Mikey wouldn't be able to tell that the other three turtles were the action figures.
The materials:
- Leo is a little porcelain turtle doll. Porcelain is "highly durable, dense, and non-porous" (solid substances, such as glass, metal, or plastic, that do not allow liquids, gases, or bacteria to pass through or penetrate their surface), made by firing clay at super hot temperatures. I thought that this would be a fun reference to how Leo is a strong leader and became a strong leader due to adversity. However, "because it lacks flexibility (low flexural strength), it does not bend and will break if subjected to high impact", again another reference to how only the hardest adversity that Leo has gone through has broken him (Shredder injuring Leo, Earth blowing up)
- Raph is a little clay turtle doll. Clay has "high plasticity when wet (allowing it to be molded), cohesion, shrinkage upon drying, and the ability to harden into a rigid, durable structure when fired". This reminds me of Raph because while his anger can be dangerous, if projected towards the right target, he can be quite powerful.
- Donnie is a little wooden doll. Wood is "versatile, sustainable, and organic". Wood can be "easily cut, shaped, and joined with nails, screws, or adhesives". Wood can be used to be make a bunch of stuff, which reminds me with how creative Donnie is.
Basically, the turtle dolls now need to find some missing pieces that flew off of the machine when it exploded (but the effects didn't kick in right away so the turtles are all in bed sick). Unfortunately, they have to avoid Mikey so that they don't freeze up and potentially get damaged. However, while sneaking around, they learn more about Mikey and how bad he feels about himself, realizing just how badly they've treated him.
So... when the three turtles fix the machine and wake up... they try to mend their relationship with Mikey.
The turtle dolls might have special powers, idk honestly.
Umm....
Leo has more damage/temperature protection (but not height protection because he'll break), Raph can reshape himself into whatever object he feels like, and Donnie can change his size (because wood is from a tree, aka a plant, and plants grow).
Paramount isn't making any more seasons of Tales of the TMNT, so I decided to change that.
Here are how the four turtles developed or had their characterization written so far:
Season 1:
Mechazoid storyline:
- Leo's arc was about being able to stand on his own without his brothers.
- Mikey's arc was about learning about taking responsibility for his actions.
- Raph's arc was about struggling with not being able to protect his brothers even though he was the strong one.
- Donnie's arc was about him doing something that would later become valuable and important, which contrasts with his low self-esteem.
The Pearl storyline:
- Raph's arc was about learning how to listen.
- Mikey's arc was about learning how to be a leader.
- Donnie's arc was about learning that he doesn't have to be just like his brothers.
- Leo's arc was about learning how he should listen to his team and not just bark orders at everyone.
Season 2:
- Raph's arc was about him learning that he shouldn't try to fight his family.
- Donnie's arc was about his brothers learning that they don't value the things that Donnie values.
- Leo's arc was about him learning what it means to be a hero.
- Mikey's arc was about developing his personality, showcasing his as the compassionate one.
Now, here's how I would write their characterization/development for future seasons, followed up with the storyline I would write for it:
Season 3:
- Donnie's arc focuses on him learning how to properly communicate with his brothers despite their differences. (Plot: Donnie goes digging around in Bishop's base alone [His brothers are super busy with lots of other things] and accidentally connects his mind to one of Bishop's new robots [Sort of like Mech Cadets], becoming Mecha Donnie. By the way, he can't talk in this new form and his brothers have no clue what happened to Donnie, whose body is now unconscious.)
- Raph's arc is about him learning how important it is to be open about how he is feeling and to not hide everything away. (Plot: Raph meets Mona Lisa, who is feeling overwhelmed and alone due to her family, nicknamed the "Salamandrians", hating mutants, especially her father, who calls himself "The Newtralizer", while she doesn't hate humans, but feels like she can't tell them how she feels because they'll hate her for it.)
- Leo's arc focuses on his brothers learning how hard it is for Leo to be a leader. (Plot: Leo is constantly feeling stressed out because his brothers don't respect him for being a leader [Similar to the 2012 TMNT episode: "New Girl in Town"]. He seeks refuge in Fyumi, a magician's assistant who is ignored by the magician, Fernando. Problem is, Fyumi has had enough and hypnotizes Leo so she can show the entire world that she's not a nobody. Leo then becomes the Masked Fury [Pretty similar to 2007 Leo, but is more vengeful and sadistic [He tries to humilate Raph to no end.] [Author note: Mikey feels bad about how they're ignoring Leo, Donnie states how lately Leo's plans have gotten them into trouble, and Raph thinks that Leo's is just a kiss-up to Dad.])
- Mikey's arc focuses on him to not let others take advantage of his compassion. (Plot: Mikey comes across a group of mutants hiding underground in fear of humans. Mikey takes them in to help them not be so afraid of humans, but the mutants take advantage of the turtles' popularity to get away with crime. [The mutants are known as the Foodtanimals, and consist of characters such as Pizza Face and Ice Cream Kitty [who is more humanized in this version, not just a pet cat.])
Season 4:
- Mikey arc is about him regaining his confidence in himself after the whole disaster with the Foodtanimals. (Plot: Mikey accidentally comes across Renet and accidentally causes mayhem in the timeline.)
- Leo's arc is about dealing with the trauma after the whole issue with the Masked Fury. (Plot: Nothing happens in the arc at all. There are no bad guys, no new mutants, but Leo is so worried that something bad is going to happen that he gets stressed out and starts having panic attacks.)
- Donnie's arc focuses on him learning to not always rely on technology for solutions. (Plot: Donnie accidentally gets sent to Usagi's dimension and has to figure out how to get back home without relying on technology.)
- Raph's arc is learning about his brothers learning how important strength means to Raphael (Plot: Raphael meets Casey Jones and the two duke it out with the Purple Dragons.)
I so badly wanted to write in Karai, but I wanted to make it feel like the stories could still exist with the universe of Tales, so unfortunately, no Foot Clan. Maybe one day Tales can come back :)
Oh my! Mikey and Donnie sure look like they’re in a bit of trouble! I sure hope they’re okay- wait, a minute, what’s that on the bottom?
Points to anyone that can guess what this is a reference to. The hint is that this relates directly to something TMNT related (aka one of the shows).

I had an excuse to draw Tales of the TMNT, so…
Anyway… please bring back Tales! It wasn’t a perfect show but it was still pretty great for what it was worth! I really enjoyed watching it for the most part and I’m really bummed out that it had to be cancelled, especially after there were supposed to be 2 more seasons!

Just a little sketch of Leo I worked on today (The first picture, not the second)! Definitely the best Leo of them all :)

Yay, it’s my first comic cover! :) Made this on a whim for @sonicboomrevisited because I loved the comic so much! Good job to everyone working on that comic!
And no, I do not own the header; whoever did it for SBR does. I simply did a little editing magic to make my cover feel more realistic.
