I think one thing I haven’t seen people talking about when it comes to obsession is the fact Bear was going to cheat on Nikki even after he forced her to love him. In the car when he is talking with Sarah at the park, he would have kissed her before Nikki came in. You could feel the tension, the set up, and Bear would have cheated on Nikki in that moment, right after she had just begged him to kill her and end it. So even though he was “in love with” (I.e obsessed with Nikki) he was still willing to cheat on her.
Bear is a coward and a pathetic man. He made every horrible choice at every turn, and he would have cheated too.
