Regarding that asker who said something about new gens being "annoying" (not at you, mod), I think it's kind of...silly to expect every fan to be able to keep up with Sage's work? I see a lot of newer people who read through the bios and comments but still miss a ton of information because—shocker—keeping up with a series that has lasted over a decade including scouring through even older betas and prototypes through Sage's old Deviantart, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, and every interview they've done (some of which I'm pretty sure weren't entirely recorded if they were live streamed because we still can't track down where some of those are). The comic itself is over 400 pages. It was a hassle for me to read through every author's note and browse through each page (most of them have 100 or 200+ comments on average) to see what little things Sage might have said in the comments when I was still in highschool reading this. I can't imagine how difficult it is for newer fans who have even more to catch up with.
Like, inherently, new gens are GOING to be confused; this is information that spans nearly two decades and has a lot of platforms that contain information. That makes sense. I've been reading for almost seven years now and I still find new tidbits that slipped under my radar. It's a pain! XD
Not to be rude to the asker who sent that, but if you genuinely miss the old fandom enough to be agitated about the newer fans not knowing nearly as much about this series, then I really recommend trying to maybe share some of the content that might be harder for them to find. Have a link to a recorded interview of Sage's? Post that in the main tags. Have a link to or screenshots of some posts of Sage's that might have neat notes? Post that in the main tags. Do you notice some comments from Sage that might be interesting? Post that in the main tags. Even if you (understandably) don't want to go trail down years of information, if you HAVE that information in your mind, feel free to just type out some random fun facts about TGS that you've garnered for the fans to read.
The new fans are eager to learn and very happy to consume content—that's why they make those theories about TGS in the first place. They genuinely love the series and WANT to share their thoughts with others who are equally passionate. If a theory of theirs is something that has already been confirmed in the past, maybe reblog the post saying that. Not "Hey, this has already been confirmed. No reason to theorize." but something like "Hey, it's cool that you had this theory because I found this screenshot confirming it a while ago! It's impressive that you managed to deduce this on your own without this side note, good job!" Y'know?
Try to encourage new gens to actually feel good about their observations so that they will actually be motivated to keep the fandom alive and discuss openly. That's how you let a fanbase grow. Sorry for the tangent, I didn't mean any of this in a hateful manner, I simply wanted to point out that expecting new fans of a series this expansive is unfair and that it's good to help introduce them to previous content without judgement. I get that it's frustrating, but it'll do far more good for the community as a whole.
Much respect to new gens! 💕 Keep talking, keep exploring, keep theorizing, and always feel free to make posts asking for resources if you want! I love hearing what you guys have to say and it makes me happy to know more people are still falling in love with the story as much as I have! :)
