It was Wednesday night and an unusual day for Mads and Nathaniel to have their movie night. They would usually meet up on Fridays , watch a movie and talk and rant about their job. However this week Friday was a no go and keeping the family tradition was a must. Nathaniel was both Madelyns little brother as well her best friend. The whole family was tight knit , but the relationship she had with her brother throughout the years was a bond she could never have with anyone else. Looking at the clock she was a bit bothered that the chinese take out came to her door before he did, but told herself he most likely had work to do or maybe got caught up at work. Maybe he had some tests to grade or it was simple as traffic. She was not worried about him not showing up, more about the food getting cold. Mads placed utensils down and some glasses before sitting down on the sofa making sure the movie would be ready to play when he got there. A whole ten minute passed as she door rang and she lifted her small body and made herself to the door “There you are, I hope you like cold eggroles” she joked letting him in with a big hug.

Truth be told, few things brought Zehra as much peace—and joy—as taking her lunch in the park. Even with the constant distractions, the raucous laughter, and the occasional frat boy whose frisbee coincidentally landed a little too close to her bench, the woman couldn’t feel more Zen with only the slightest hint of tzatziki sauce at the corner of her lips and the sun beaming down on her. With a content sigh, Zehra stood, wiping the remnants of her lunch away with the back of her hand before she started collecting her belongings. The task, though, halted when she overheard a loud conversation and her gaze fell on the cutest, furry sight. “Hello!” She called out, the greeting directed at the pup’s extremely stressed owner. Maybe not the best time, at least based on the other woman’s demeanor, but Zehra could hardly control herself. “Your dog? Are they friendly?” She waited with bated breath—only slight exaggeration—eager for an answer that didn’t come. When all she got back was a wave, Zehra had to assume her inquiry was not heard and she stepped a little closer, although still cautious, in the unlikely case that she was approaching an undercover hellhound and repeated herself, only a little slower and louder. Years on the West Coast and Brooklyn still jumped right out of her if she wasn’t careful. “Is your dog friendly?” She asked, nodding in the direction of the canine. 

Milo loved humans, you could give the dog one look and he would assume you are his best friend so it was no surprise that the small Yorkie was waving his tail letting his whole bottom follow when the woman slowly approached. “Yeah..yeah sure, he already already loves you” the petite brunette knew pretty well that her demeanor might not seem to be the friendliest right now. She was tense and it was pretty obvious she did not have a pleasant morning. Watching her furry friend having the time of his life with the stranger managed to make Madelyn give out a small smile. “His name is Milo..” she said hoping that would make her seem a tiny bit more loose and not too intimidating which she was sure was the way she presented herself in the first place. “I am sorry if I ended up ruining your lunch or something.. I can be quite loud when I speak”

San Francisco always was a busy place. It was uncommon for any place there to be unoccupied. Daniel loved it. It gave him more opportunities to get to know people. He was not the most social when he was younger, being too focused on his studies and providing for his family so now when he was older and got everything under control he wanted to make up for all that time. “It is nice to meet you Madelyn, i’m Daniel” he smiled politely “I hope whatever is going on with your work will sort itself out, what do you work with? if you don’t mind me asking, maybe I could help you out?”

Usually Madelyn would back away in situations like this, but there was something about Daniel that made her feel safe. He seemed genuine and didn’t really give off that creep vibe that some guys would give.” I got my own interior design company and no sadly you can’t, I wish I could ask for your help, have some random guy take care of the drama, but sadly not the case” she chuckled. She was frustrated and could go on for hours about the issues she got with her work at this moment.

It was one of Daniels free days of the week. He had no appointments , but even so he was up early for his morning run. He liked circling the parks in San Francisco since they all was so beautiful. He was just taking a turn as he heard a woman seeming annoyed with a loud groan. He felt awkward when she waved thinking that the woman might of felt he was starring when he shouldn’t. “You okay there?” he asked still catching up with his breath from running across the park. “Do you need help with anything?”

Hearing the manly voice startled her even though it shouldn’t. It was common for people to be in the park especially around this hour exercising. This further proved how caught up she was in her own mind. Work was really not going her way lately. “Oh no it is fine, it is just work being a bit of a mess” giving the male a friendly smile she shook her head running her hand through her brown hair. “ Thank you, but I am fine, just got to deal with this in my office I suppose, i’m Madelyn by the way” she was not sure the male was even interested in knowing her name, but felt it was the polite thing to do.

Natalie had been on a tight deadline recently and she had about two days to get her column finished and sent off, whilst also being a single mom it was difficult at times but it was okay. She had decided to come to the park to get some fresh air whilst writing, she was keeping an eye on Lucas who was having fun playing with the other kids on the park equipment. Whilst she sat there typing on her iPad for her latest column, she heard a girl sigh, she looked up realising the girl was closer to her then she had thought which is why she was able to hear her. She locked her iPad, a few minutes not doing anything wasn’t going to delay her more then she was already behind. She looked over at the girl after making sure Lucas was till playing nicely, “Sorry, are you okay there? You seem like you need a coffee or something to take away from what sounded like a stressful sigh.” 

Madelyn looked up surprised that someone was around, which she shouldn’t be. Dolores Park was always filled with people. “I need a trip to Bora Bora if I am going to be honest” she chuckled “ I am sorry if I bothered you with my...groan” Madelyn looked down at her small dog making sure he was okay before turning her eyes on the woman again. “But you know what, I do need that coffee, I should go get one”

It was usual for Madelyn to get phonecalls during her free time and most of the time she had no issue answering them. She have not managed to get a free day for herself in soon two weeks which was her own fault being the workaholic she is, so when her phone bussed during her morning walk with her dog Milo the one day she had the whole morning free frustration ran over her. She could easily ignore it and call back later, but for some reason her mind seem to work on their own and answer without really thinking. Getting calls for new clients was always fun and would most likely calm her down from her frustration, but lately the only thing that seem to be happening is that something gone wrong or something not adding up to plan. “What the hell do you mean no one is there? are they answering their phone?” at this point she let her dog sniff around as she ran her hand over her forehead with a small groan. “Well, if they do not answer and is not there then leave it, I will try to get in contact with them, hopefully it is just a mishap” as the woman closed her phone she groaned one more time to herself or she thought she was. The noise that she made caught attention of someone else in the park. She gave them a small little wave with a sigh feeling her day was absolutely ruined. @tbchqstarterblog​
