I've said it before, but I'll say it again. White people in the 1970s ~ sigh ~.

Back in 1984 you could actually hear Billy Squier's career crumbling to the ground. Squier's "dancing" was once compared to a French pastry chef whose souffle had fallen. Some facts to consider: 1) Billy Squier was on top of the world at this point in his career 2) two of his opening acts during the early 80s were Def Leppard and Ratt and 3) this video was silently added to the rotation, it was an MTV World Premiere complete with weeks of advance press. The result was disastrous. Watch for yourself for proof.
Politics really is showbiz for the ugly.
Proof why 13 year old boys should never be in charge of product marketing. Ever.
You will not believe your eyes!
This Claymation version of President Jimmy Carter lipsynching along to Ray Charles' Georgia On My Mind actually aired on the first episode of the ABC's 20/20 way back in 1978. I'm practically speechless.

My recollection of this mid-70s show, Holmes & Yo-Yo, is so vague, I figured it had just been a weird dream. It was most likely a nightmare to those involved in this craziness.
Jimmy DeRamus, owner of Silver Dollar Pawn and star Cajun Pawn Stars, has the best hair on television. Period.
Legend has it Phyllis Diller raided Liberace's closet for this appearance.
Television has brought back murder into the home - where it belongs.
- Alfred Hitchcock
He's solid gold, he's got the goods.
David Naughton performing ... I mean lipsynching ... the theme song to his short lived series Makin' It. The song was a hit, but the show wasn't - it lasted less than one season. Based on this video, if the song was a hit, then the show really must have sucked.Β

Here's the intro the sitcom Working Stiffs that I posted about a few days ago. Watch and enjoy this terribleness!
"If it weren't for Philo T. Farnsworth, inventor of television, we'd still be eating frozen radio dinners."
-Johnny Carson
Promo shot from the first Cheers spinoff show, the Tortellis focused on the lives of Carla's ex-husband, played by Dan Hedaya and his wife, played by Jean Kasem, the real-life spouse of Casey Kasem. I couldn't care less who played the kids. Surprisingly, this thing lasted a full season on NBC.
Still shot of Michael Keaton and Jim Belushi from their short lived sitcom, Working Stiffs. This monstrosity lasted 3 whole weeks on the air.
Here's to feeling good all the time ...

My eyes! My eyes! This is almost too ridiculous to believe, a five-minute disco medly from The Brady Bunch Variety Hour. Here, the Bradys attempt to dance and sing along with special appearances by Tina Turner, Milton Berle, and the King of Bad TV, Rip Taylor. Is there anything more cringe worthy than seeing Taylor with his arms around Ann B. Davis?
It's the "Lose Yer Wig, Polka!" Anda one, anda two!
Wunnerful, wunnerful!
