A year ago when I wrote expectations for each course in the Internet Marketing program, I had no idea what to expect. I am a Music Producer so when I was looking to further my education at Full Sail I looked through the Master’s degree programs and thought knowing how to market online would really boost my edge as an online free-lance Music Producer. When I predicted what I would learn in the final course, I had predicted to learn things I had already learned in the program. I had researched marketing campaigns and real-life scenarios a few months ago. I also optimized my traffic in a mock marketing plan a few months ago. The last goal I had for this course was to choose the best internet marketing campaign for my business. When I started this program, I had always intended on using my knowledge from this program to promote my Music Production website and my career in music. I have written a few mock Internet Marketing Campaigns for various objectives. This final month’s IMP included elements from all of the courses in the program. It was challenging to remember how to design aspects of the IMP because the course was so fast paced but with a little refreshing, I was able to produce an impressive plan to improve a lot of aspects of my mock company. I feel confident going into Marketing that I can solve client’s problems with the marketing techniques I have learned in the past year and this final IMP will be a great reference for my future work in Marketing.

    In the Internet Law course, we were shown and told the realities of Cybercrimes, including but not limited to crimes like Illegal Spam, Identity Theft, and read many Court cases where defendants struggling to survive after suffering as a result of Cybercrime. The final thing I expected to learn in this course was to, “understand the components of a legal and successful Internet Marketing campaign. I would agree that after this course I understand boundaries and legal obligations concerning the use of the Internet. In the future, I will be sure to consider these and clauses when using the Internet to promote companies and artists.

It is important to remember humans are the subjects of our jobs. Other human’s feelings and worth shouldn’t be diminished because we are “just doing our job”. It as important to me to remember compassion as a Marketing Agent, as it is important to law enforcement agents. Mercy will sow great rewards for the merciful.

When I was coming into this course I wanted to learn how to handle a disgruntled consumer professionally in an online environment. I knew from previous customer experiences that I cannot change the way a disgruntled customer feels but I can handle the situation in ways that have varying outcomes. In this course I learned how important customers are to the online reputation of a company. It is vital to handle customer complaints before they even get the chance to show up online. If they do show up on line, it is important to have filtering and monitoring software to catch these kinds of things. The second and third things I wanted to learn coming into this course were strategies to build communication with an online audience and to see if PR was an area of Internet Marketing I would like to work in. I would say I definitely learned strategies to communicate with the audiences like I wanted. As for determining if PR is for me I say yes. Even if I do not specialize in PR, it is an important concept to understand and implement when marketing a company.
