this trend of shitting on peer-reviewed academic studies in favor of tweeting “we already knew this was happening” is so soul-crushing. not to be an elitist cunt, but we have got to open the schools again. people genuinely seem to have forgotten that their personal lived experience isn’t indicative of the larger population, AND IF IT IS…… then you need researchers to support these assertions from a relevant data pool instead of a blog post from 2013 💀

i just wanted to clarify that this post was referring to studies in childhood ptsd and the AI boom’s relationship to wealth and poverty, but it can go for literally anything, so i IMPLORE YOU ALL to PLEASE get into reading research texts bc it is the only way we’re gonna free ourselves as a community. research helps to drive policy, civic engagement, court decisions, etc. PLEASE do not disregard someone’s study just bc you’ve lost faith in humanity. not all of us live life without hope.
