I was gonna make a â"genres of monstersâ posts but upon thinking about it I realized that â"genres of monster fansâ has actually been more interesting to think aboutÂ
Anyways genres of monster fans and enthusiasts are off the top of my head
-âMy monster dad can beat up your monster dadâ
- The folklore historian
- Wants to be a zoologist but for fake animalsÂ
- Caring about monsters being treated well more then the actual humansÂ
- Believes in all cryptids and just wants monsters to be real more then anything else
- In it for the sex appeal
- Monsters as abstract metaphors for the human suffering in film and literatureÂ
- Just really likes HalloweenÂ
A category I foolishly overlooked
anyone else pissed about how choking is way less hot in practice than it is in fantasy?
i mean like, shocker! actually being strangled isnât as much fun as it looks! news at eleven! i know, i know. thing is like, i do enjoy breathplay! when itâs done right!!
unfortunately!! nine out of ten times itâs some dumbass hookup who i just met and who did not ask permission first and who also, coincidentally, doesnât know what the flippin heck heâs fuckin doing!! so heâs either actually crushing my got dam windpipe(!!) or like, stupidly trying not to put any actual pressure on my throat by instead leaning his entire phuckening body weight on my collarbone
and stopping this dumbfuck to sit him down and explain where the fricken carotids are kinda kills the mood, wouldnât ya know!
please my dudes. please. breathplay is not something you can just figure out as you go. do some got dang research before you hurt someone.
Itâs edgeplay, itâs dangerous, and you owe it to your partner to mitigate that danger as much as possible
also ask first assholes!!! how you gonna take a stranger out to some shady ass car-sex venue and expect them NOT to freak out when you start strangling them out of nowhere?!?! lucky i didnt break your nose serial killer lookin son of a bitch
I had a sudden strike of inspiration again for making a generator! Hope someone finds it useful :) Drag or screenshot!
Note: I encourage to pick 2-3 times from the additional/special abilities squares. Also to just take the body type square as a inspiration and not super strictly. â¤
I donât want to give people the impression that Venom (2018) is like a Thor: Ragnarok or something.
A lot of what the critics are saying is true - about the plot, the pacing, theâŚeverything really - and yet
When a sweaty Tom Hardy tears open a bag of frozen tater tots and just starts pouring them into his mouth, while an alien symbiote screams âHUNGRY!â and then makes him eat chicken out of the trashâŚ
Iâm sitting there feeling like yes, 10/10, movie of the year, give that man an Oscar
Finally, a protagonist who represents the people.
when he just sits in a lobster tank and goes âalright, iâm okay nowâ like thats such a mood

werewolves stink like wet dog and shed all over your furniture and are probably really really needy around a full moon and wake u up all the time with questions about morality but on the other hand vampires are like âøh hĂŤllĂś thĂŞrÄ vøuld yoĂź lĂŻke to help me Ăśrganise mai evening vear closĂŤt for the third time this veĂŤk :)â so really you cant win
So the illustrator of this comic, Esad Ribic, made this cover as a joke to see if the editors would notice it. They didnât. (Also note the placement of the beer bottle)
vacuum help?
Hey, anybody following me secretly a vacuum repair guru? My roommates used my brand new Hoover Power Drive Pet Bagless to vacuum up solid chunks of paint from a door they were stripping. It looks like itâs melted into the actual plastic in places. The filter inside the bin is covered in it.
Any tips for un-fucking my baby? She still runs, but I know thatâs going to affect air intake and Iâm half afraid that if I turn her on sheâll catch fire. She was a housewarming gift from my dad on top of everything and I really donât want to declare her totaled over this. I havenât even had a chance to vacuum the stairs with her yet!
if you want to seduce me, bring me skulls, teeth, pelts and skins as well as interesting rocks and cool bits of wood

$25 SKETCH COMMISSION - More. Arm. Hair. On. Women.
An addendum to my previous post-
I am disabled, but my disability is not visible, and as such my opinion on the matter is secondary to people who are visibly disabled and thus potentially bothered by the âclassicalâ definition of the term.
if you are visibly disabled and want to share your opinions on the definition of teratophilia, not only will i not fight you behind an ihop on free pancake day, I will defer to you on this matter and give your feelings thorough consideration.Youâre welcome to talk to me any time, Iâm actually very chill I promise.
conversely, if youâre someone who wants to keep the classical definition because youâre into that
block me
why are you even here
this is a wholesome monster fucking blog
what in gods name made you think i had anything you wanted
Oh also if anyoneâs curious about my opinion on the terato/exophilia thing, Iâm sticking to the term teratophilia. Language is fluid and has the possibility to change. Words change meaning constantly.
Plus Iâm to attached to my url.
I feel the same. While the original connotations of the word are... you know I was gonna go polite and say âunfortunateâ but fuck that. its nasty objectifying ableist bullshit. But weâve successfully shifted the definition enough that pmuch anyone who has heard the term before knows you mean fantasy teratophilia/intelligent non human monsters. Anyone who hasnât heard the term before, i just tell them its about intelligent non human monsters and let them live in the nicer world where the other thing doesnât exist. It sucks that every once in a blue moon weâve got to sit a bitch down and explain that no weâre not talking about disabled people please stop, but hey consider it an opportunity to educate folks about how not to be gross towards disabled people, who frankly experience enough objectification as it is without adding sexual objectification on top of that. in case you couldnt tell, I was less than happy to learn the classical definition of teratophilia and kind of disappointed in humanity that it even exists. But hey, what better way to deal with that then just to replace that fuckin definition entirely? sorry, that gross shit doesnât exist anymore! now it means bangin werewolves and i will fight you behind an ihop on free pancake day if you tell me it means anything else.

Some words on Venom (2018)
bringing this up both because Venom has been every other post on my dash for a while and I wanted to talk about my feelings on the movie, and also because of some of the reactions Iâve seen from both fans and critics.Â
Venom, while deeply enjoyable, was also hugely technically flawed.
It can be both of those things! Iâve been seeing people getting a little too rabid defending it as one or the other, from people who think it was bad saying the only people who liked it were yaoi fangirls, to people who think it was good accusing the haters of being homophobic. Like, guys, rein it in a little. You can like a thing without it being perfect, and dislike a thing without being ideologically opposed to it. Venom has issues. Objectively speaking, it has serious problems from a basic film making perspective.
The pacing is poor, the tone is super inconsistent. Venomâs motivations are thinly established and thereâs no demonstrable basis for Venom and Eddieâs relationship, which the movie canât decide if it supports or not. Anne has nothing to do and she and Eddie have no chemistry. Most of the actors seem to be struggling to find their characters. I get the sense that there were a lot of issues with the script/rewrites by people with very different concepts for the film and that the director was probably floundering a bit. The villain is a cartoonish caricature of Elon Musk and Steve Jobs whose motivations are even more of an enigma than Venomâs. Riot is a plot device who might as well be an Iron Man suit for all the personality itâs given. The story gets super thin in the second half after overloading exposition in the front, and basically becomes a series of one line objectives strung together by action sequences. Also, and this is just me, but I really liked Jenny Slateâs character Dr. Skirth and I was disappointed by the way she was sidelined and killed. Esp because for a second there I thought she was going to host the blue symbiote and become awesome. But thatâs a personal grumble, compared to the major construction issues the rest of the movie had.
All that said! I really enjoyed the movie. Despite itâs glaring technical flaws, itâs still fun to watch. Like a really ugly home made cake that still tastes amazing. It looks good overall, the cg isnât bad, the action scenes are unmemorable but well choreographed and easy to follow, which is something I tend to be picky about since bad action sequences make me nauseous. Tom Hardyâs acting is weird but entertaining and carries a lot of the film. There are a handful of great, hilarious moments. The movie is at its best when it drops the serious facade and PG13 edge and lets itself be funny. There are hints of something fantastic there when it cuts loose and stops trying to justify its goofy premise. I think a big part of the appeal is just in the potential that it has, even though it never quite lives up to that.Â
There are plenty of reasons to like Venom despite its issues, but never any reason to be an asshole to people over their opinions on a movie. Try to remember that you can like a film and still be critical of it, and that you can dislike a movie without being disrespectful of everyone who enjoyed it.Â
Thatâs it in a nutshell, but if youâre interested in more in-depth criticisms (including where I think some of them originated and how I would fix them) theyâre under the cut.Â
