“ step right on up! yes right here, get your daily news! latest velia update! revenants are just a load of npc dicks. ” what in the world is mercutio doing? he has absolutely no idea but he’s doing great. so what if he just spent the last day and a half making this little dumb flyers that just say ‘the npcs are upon us’? he was big on this whole notion that the revenants are being controlled by hercules the npc so why wouldn’t the whole guild just be npcs? that was the true villain of velia and he was ready to let everyone know.

           tequila has come to expect odd behavior from mercutio;    he never really knows just what the hell he’s up to and he cannot tell if it is something mercutio does on purpose or if he really is as bizarre a man as tequila has thought him out to be.    bizarrely annoying,    that is.    he can deal with strange people,   annoying people are something entirely different.    mercutio walks the line between both. 

     “    interesting research,   ”     he frowns at the flyer in his hand,    then lifts it up in question,   thinking about hercules and the recent event with hela and the murdered unity boy.   he’s really getting himself into shit now.     “    sources ?  ” 

Hades had to roll his eyes. “I’ve done my part to warn the both of you. If this goes south…” Hades held up both his hands before shaking his head. He wasn’t putting it past either Tequila or Achilles that they were more than capable of winning the fight. He wasn’t going to place any bets (because that meant he would involve himself in this foolishness), but surely it would be a pretty fair fight. 

Hades couldn’t help but smirk at Tequila’s recollection of his and Achilles’ first meeting. 

“And people say I’m the unreasonable one.” He murmured in amusement (and slight fondness) with another shake of his head, finishing up with putting on his clothes. 

“Maybe one of those pair quests would help.” He continued before shrugging his shoulders. “You know what, I’m not even going to get involved. As long as neither of you kills each other, my hands are now off.” His hands weren’t off, not if he could help it, but it was nice to have them think it was. 

He was quiet for a while before raising a brow. 

“You doing anything now?” 

               “    how do you deal with his stubbornness ?   ”     tequila questions,    suddenly curious to know if hades has never truly wronged achilles enough to get him the sort of treatment tequila receives from the guild master. 

     a shake of his head,    he watches as hades puts on the last of his clothes.      “    i’ve tried that before,    even tried to give him the loot from the quest.   ”    tequila knows exactly why that did not work out,    recalling the event with a blank face.    they ended up stuck in a tree with a very angry monster attempting to leap up at them,    and they never did get the loot.      “    didn’t work,    he just got pissed at me.   ”     it isn’t the entire truth,    but it makes his point. 

      he stands through the silence,    arms crossed over his chest,    sparrow still up on the branch awaiting further instructions.    hades speaks,    tequila raises a brow in return,     “   nothing particular in mind, except maybe training.   ” 

Padme looked quite appalled. “No,” she said immediately. “Is it a girl or a boy? I’ll give them a proper name. How will it know to help you when you are calling to all the birds in the sky all the same? No, that’ won’t work. Can’t do it. We’ll fix this.” She patted his arm in what she clearly saw as a comforting gesture, while her mind already raced ahead with possible names. 

Focusing on the bird, however, was hard as she began to blush furiously. “I’m not lying!” she said quickly. She wasn’t, but she wasn’t telling the whole truth either. So Padme latched onto his offer. “Okay,” she agreed. “Point me in the right direction. Make me a better subject changer.” 

              tequila has never had a pet to give a name to until now,    so it makes sense to him why he never named the sparrow.    his ex-wife had a pit-bull dog back when he met her,    but he technically was not his.    his mother gave him a rock when he asked for a pet because joyful creatures like dogs were certainly not allowed in a household completely devoid of happiness.    well,    that’s what tequila tells himself now.    he does not mind padme giving the bird a name,    and he shrugs at her question,     “    not a fucking clue,    could be either.   ” 

David watches as Tequila steps in the path of the frisbee, deciding not to say anything the moment before he stumbles back. He looks between the kids and the guard, exchanging “whoops” glances with the prior before meeting Tequila’s glare right before the other bends down. 

Swiftly, he ducks down as Tequila stands back up, knowing there was no way in hell he wasn’t going to try to smack him. He can’t help but laugh at the overreaction, ashing before he looks over at the frisbee-sized dent in the windowframe. The hollow drum of the frisbee tilting on its sides before finally resting on the porch wasn’t loud enough for him to pretend he couldn’t hear Tequila yelling at him. 

David adjusts his trunks on his hips as he stands back up, furrowing his brow briefly as he looks at the kids. “Mate,” he says. “If you wanted to play, you could have just asked.”

                    his eyes follow the moving frisbee,    watching as it unceremoniously misses its target and hits the window frame behind d3v0id instead.    he grumbles in disappointment,    and a very honest consideration of picking up a rock comes to mind.    tequila realizes that it’s his anger whispering into his ear like a small devil on his shoulder,     and he would have listened to it if only he wasn’t trying to keep himself in check recently. 

     ptsd does all sort of intrusive things to his brain,    and rationalization is his only way to control it.      “    if i want to play,    i’ll fucking play,   ”     he grunts,    shaking his head.    it sucks,    because he really wants to throw a rock.

         *:･ﾟ✧*:･ﾟ✧ cordelia wanted nothing more than to slap the facial hair right off of him but she knew that he made a fair point. she needed to train and level up if she was ever going to make it back to the front lines and beat this game for good. “ works for me. ” she said as she looked down at her staff. the dark wooded object wasn’t decorated like many other mages. her’s was littered with a plethora of different scars, much like her.

             “ so, ” she began. “ where is it ?? ”

                 tequila decides to give her a handicap,    so he does not reach into his inventory for his brawler’s gloves.    he begins stretching,    craning his neck sideways,    taking steadying breaths in preparation.    when the question comes,    his eyes look to her,    but his mind has already engaged in battle;    his eyes are calculating and disconnected from everything that does not help his body move with strength and grace.

     he sends the duel request,    watching it pop-up between them.    “   right here.   ”    

“It’s a fucking game in a virtual world with endless possibilities.” She sputtered out at the fact that he thought it wasn’t possible for her to do so, so many ways it could be done. “So many ways.” She echoed her thoughts to him, caught off guard, dumbfounded by his chosen ignorance. From that alone she wanted to by pass him, let him be because to her in that comment alone, he didn’t seem to be the smartest. 

Blaq stepped forward peering over him like a curious crone, gauging him. Jock, she thought. Cute, burly, probably slow and obviously not so bright. She crept closer, pulling out a dagger, the butt of it first. “It’s an endless sandbox here, dude, I could definitely move you.”

             tequila does not move nor does his head turn to look at her again.    he keeps his eyes closed,    breathes calmly,    uses his few ounces of patience to put up with the circus member.    he could get up and fight her...    but that would mean he moved,    and now it’s about the principle of the matter.

     “   well,    i'm waiting,   ”     he says,    remaining relatively passive despite being on high-alert.    the red sparrow does not move from his shoulder,   it doesn’t detect any discomfort from him to seek flight and instead blinks up at pteroblaqtyl curiously.    “   less talking,    more moving.   ”

Killmongur shook her head, as they looked over the object in her hand. When she saw the switch to turn it on. When she did, instead of bright white light blinding them. It was a bluish-purple glow, causing her to squint as the light messed with her bionic eye a bit quickly turning the light out of her face as her tech readjusted to the darkness of the alley. 

             this isn't his first rodeo with killmongur.   he has witnessed plenty of times how quick things can begin to turn sideways if you don't play your cards right.    still,    information gathering quests are not tequila's territory--    he tends to hang out in the dungeons.    so,    logically,    his attempt to solve this comes from his experience in such.      “   only one way to find out,   ”     he shrugs,    because his typical way of handling these situations is to poke them with a stick and see if something comes out. 

      “   did ya get the key to his home yet ?   ”     he questions,    brow raised.    if he can expect to receive exp by the end of this,    he does not mind following killmongur for what remains of the quest.     “   either way,    ya get something extra,    or we fall into a trap and have ourselves a jolly good time.   ”    he grins, keeping the npc down. 

location: floor 49. cursor: green

stupid. stupid, stupid, stupid. she’d been absolutely stupid. picking a fight with a giant snake was one thing. she could handle that. she’d done it plenty of times. the main issue came from the fact she hadn’t taken any anti-paralysis potions before starting her hunt. one graze from the snake had left her with her back to a tree, that annoying lightning bolt shaped paralysis cursor in the upper left hand corner of her vision. the snake may have been dead, but she was as good as if any of the other forest creatures got their teeth into her.

the sound of footsteps had panic rising in her chest, her fingers very weakly clutching one of her daggers. not that she’d be able to do anything with while she couldn’t move. but if she was going to die, she’d die swinging. she was ready for that, up until the point she saw a pair of very human eyes looking down at her. her fear of monsters shifted to a different kind of fear, gritted teeth making speaking.. more than a little difficult.

“j-just gonna stare or are you gonna h-help?”

              “   don't believe those are my only options,   ”     his steps slow,    a brow raises,    he grins lopsidedly at the sight.    he knows exactly what’s going on,   and his hell brain immediately goes to the most annoying,    hilariously immature thing he could possibly do.    this must be his luck skill coming to fruition,    and while he'd love to have a dagger to pull out just to chuckle for a bit,     he opens his inventory and locates something much,    much better. 

   he keeps the item hidden in his sleeve.    his feet continue to move forward.    his eyes catch the gleam of the weapon in her hand but he's more than positive that he can dodge faster than she can swing.    he halts a foot before her,    pulling the black marker into sight.    his grin widens,    there's malice behind his gleeful eyes.     “   what do ya say to a little make-over ?   ”

Players: d3v0id & open Location: Floor 49, his new cottage

David’s got a hammock on the porch of the cottage he reccently acquired. Currently stretched out inside it with a smoke, he almost doesn’t hear the people passing by. Comfortable background noise. 

His favorite thing is the view of the water, even if he doesn’t necessarily feel like swimming. It’s an excuse for him to hang out without a shirt on, as his uniform had been getting more wear than ever and he was tired of it. Finding an hour to himself was a blessing, and the warmth of the floor kept him comfortably sleepy. It was almost perfect, until some kids threw a frisbee that bounced off a pillar and into his lap. “What the fuck,” he says under his breath. “Careful with this thing!” he shouts, sitting up.

He walks over to the wooden railing and throws it back. He’s about to roll his eyes when he realizes he’s finally become that old man who tells kids to get off his lawn. Fuck.

              it zooms close in a red whir of movement.    tequila only realizes it's coming in his direction when it is half a second away.    his feet stumble back,    he attempts to block the attack too late;    it hits,    he freezes,    the red object falls to the ground and then he sees that it's a damn frisbee. 

     his eyes immediately shoot up,    annoyance prickles in every corner of his brain,    and then he spots shirtless d3v0id.     “   ah, you fucking...   ”    he's too preoccupied with vengeance to truly consider that as he bends down,    grabbing the frisbee and then tearing it back through the air,    aimed directly at d3v0id.

David steps closer to the sword, eyeing it a bit before declaring: “Elektra’s inauguration gift.”

The coronation (and memorial) was soon. Though he hadn’t touched it, just looking at the metal and shine of the details he could tell it was high-powered. The two must have grabbed a warriors’ quest, but that was neither here nor there. The gold was enough for them to split and still have found the quest to be worthy of their time; it’s not like it was hard.

               the amount of times that tequila has gifted loot items to anyone in velia is about...    zero times,    so the idea causes his eyes to roll.    he watches the shine of the blade,    feels the weight in his hands,    imagines its worth.    the quest was completed easily enough for two high-level guards,    but he knows that there aren’t many who can so capably trample through it. 

    he takes a breath in,    obviously considering it.    everything points towards it being a high price in the market,    but then again,    if any warrior was to have this sword,    he would prefer it would be one in blood oath,    and who better than their guild master ? 

Padme opened her mouth to ask–didn’t that bird die almost a year ago–but she quickly shut it. “That’s wonderful,” she managed, patting his arm, proud that he’d let anything close to him–even a zombie bird. “What was his name again?” Maybe if she kept him talking about his own life–which had been her intention all along–he’d forget about what she’d said of Hades. 

“Yes–yeah. Yeah. Of course. We are. Big family. It was great to have him back. It is great. So happy,” she agreed. “Lost a couple of people to Hercules, but who needs traitorous scum, right?” She smiled–perhaps a bit too brightly. 

               tequila furrows his brows,    wondering if he ever gave the sparrow a name.     it takes a moment of consideration for his head to turn towards her--    he shrugs,     “    it’s bird.   ”   

           cordelia groaned loudly as she used the last of her spare energy to take out the mob monster on level 47 with tequila. she’d been at this since the crack of dawn and now it was close to dusk. “ you’re going straight to hell once we get out of… well, hell !!! ” she snapped angrily. “ i’m sick and tired of you pulling me out on these useless quests for the sake of getting some money from the townspeople. ” she explained, tiredly as she pulled out a drink from her inventory that she’d gotten from one of the guild’s healers. “ you want some ??? ” she asked, pushing the drink towards him. her charity didn’t mask her anger, though. She was tired and pissed. (@teqvilas·)

                cordelia’s outburst does not come as a surprise,    but it does not annoy him any less than the last one.    he keeps a straight face as he comes around to sit atop a resting place.    he waves away her offer,    pulling out his own cantine of water.

      “    ya need to learn to shut up,   ”      tequila warns.    he throws his head back as he gulps down several mouthfuls,    wishing he could reach for a teleportation crystal and end the discussion there.    with an exhale,    he wipes at his chin,     “   quests level ya up,    dumbass.    ya just get some coin along the way.    you’re tired ?   ”     he twists the cap back on his cantine, placing it in his inventory.    “   i don’t give a shit,    i’m tired too.   ”    they rested for about two minutes,    and it is only what tequila is willing to allow after hearing her complain.    “   come on,   get up,  ”   he knocks his knee against hers,    coming to his feet,     “   you’re gonna get some exp from a duel,    since ya hate quests so much.   ” 

“   assume all ya want,   punk.    it’s clear that you’re blind to the most obvious thing about me.   ”
