Note: All of these OCs exist within a single in-game universe, known as Worldstate Dirvhenan, which is a Dragon Age canon jointly created with @sunshinemage. As such, many OCs occupy unique roles as companions or supporting characters, rather than protagonists in their own right.
OCs are listed below according to the game in which they feature as a companion, or the game in which the majority of their personal story takes place, if they're involved in the events of more than one game. No, I don't have any companion OCs for DA2, not sure why. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For the record, I do think the DA devs intended Alistair's hair to be reddish blond from the beginning. Hold on, stick with me, I have a point to make here, I promise.
However, it's also an objective fact that his hair and skin tone were made progressively lighter throughout the life of the franchise. In DA:O, in most lighting conditions, his hair is what I would call a light brown or maybe light reddish brown. His skin is if not a light brown then definitely olive or tanned; he is noticeably darker than his half-brother Cailan, for example.
Then we have DA2 where his hair is closer to a strawberry blond and his skin takes on a kind of yellowish undertone. But frankly all the skin tones in DA2 are pretty weird (elf skin tones in particular get weirdly washed out and grey) so I don't think it's a good point of reference.
Next we get The Silent Grove comic where the flatter coloring style makes his hair a fairly unambiguous ginger. His skin is shown as noticeably lighter than Isabela's (not going to get into her varying depictions across the series; that's a whole other essay) and about the same as Varric's, even though in DA2 Varric was definitely lighter-skinned and had a pinker undertone than Alistair.
Given the fact that David Gaider wrote The Silent Grove, I have to believe that he also had at least some input on the visual depiction of his characters. That, together with the fact that colors in a comic book are a little easier to control than colors under dynamic video game lighting, makes me believe that the way Alistair is depicted in Silent Grove is probably how Gaider wanted him to look all along. Hence why when we get to DA:I his hair is even lighter, now a light ginger-blond, and he is at most a white guy with a very slight tan.
In DA:I, I think Alistair may actually look closer to what Gaider imagined from the beginning, but his looks have deviated so far from where he started in DA:O that he's literally unrecognizable. I'm sure I'm not the only one who remembers seeing the first DA:I trailer and thinking the guy in the Grey Warden armor must be the Hero of Ferelden. The idea that it could be Alistair literally never crossed my mind.
In what world are these two pictures of the same man, Bioware?
So basically what I'm saying is, yeah, I think the devs at Bioware always intended for Alistair to be a white ginger dude. But by making his hair and skin tone lighter and lighter over time to the point of looking like a completely different person, they also kind of invalidated their own canon depiction of him. You can say that these are two pictures of the same man all you want, but when anyone with eyes can see that they look nothing alike, you have essentially handed over the interpretation of that character's appearance to whoever is playing the game.
Which, naturally, makes for a whole lot of problems within the fandom.
In the end, I think Alistair can be interpreted "correctly" as either a man with brown skin and brown hair or a man with white skin and ginger hair. If DA:I was the first Dragon Age game you ever played, I can understand why you might see that Alistair as the "correct" Alistair. But I also think that even if you see Alistair as white, you must be willing to admit the fact that his hair color, his skin color, and even his eye color were all significantly lightened between his appearance in DA:O and his appearance in DA:I. Whether you want to call it whitewashing or not, it is an objective fact that is not up for debate.
I personally do consider it to be whitewashing, because my friends who are folks of color have said that they see it as whitewashing, and that's good enough for me.
As for my own interpretation of Alistair's looks? Yeah, despite the fact that I think Gaider always wanted him to be a red-headed white boy, I'm sticking with mixed-race, brown-skinned Alistair. Why? Well, here are a few reasons:
Even if David Gaider wanted him to look like a white redhead in DA:O, he simply Does Not. DA:O Alistair has light brown hair and light brown skin, especially compared with his color palette in later appearances.
I played DA:O waaay back when it first released, and for me DA:O Alistair will always be "The Alistair." I straight up cannot reconcile the Alistair in my head with whoever the heck that dude in DA:I is supposed to be.
Alistair is canonically mixed-race in the sense that he is half-elven, and since he is visibly darker than his half-brother Cailan, it makes sense to me that his mother may have also contributed her darker features to his appearance. (Not going to break down the debate about Fiona's canonical skin color; again, that's a whole nother essay.)
As I said, my friends of color in the fandom feel strongly that the "lightening" of Alistair's features is an act of whitewashing, and as far as I'm concerned that is far more important than whatever design David Gaider had in his head when he first wrote Alistair. DA:O has very, very few characters of color to begin with, so taking one of those few and deliberately ginger-ifying him is a racist act and a statement to any person of color playing those games that they don't have a place in the world of Thedas. I refuse to accept that.
I really didn't intend to go on a diatribe with this post; I started out just jotting down some thoughts after seeing a fandom poll about Alistair's hair color. But since I'm already here, I'll add a few final words for anyone reading this who prefers to view White Redhead Alistair as the "Real" Alistair. Specifically, my fellow white fans who prefer White Redhead Alistair.
The reason why the topic of Alistair's hair and skin color is so contentious in the DA fandom is because of racism, but not in the way some people think. The issue at the crux of it all is not "what is Alistair's exact canonical skin tone and hair color," but rather "what does it mean if someone chooses to advocate for one interpretation over the other?"
If you choose to view White Redhead Alistair as the "Real" Alistair, is that simply because you played DA:I first and that's the version of Alistair you see in your mind, or is it because a white man is more appealing to you as a male love interest than a brown man? If someone tells you that you drew Alistair too pale, and you respond to them with defensiveness or hostility, is it because you're really deeply concerned about accuracy and preserving David Gaider's original vision for the character, or is it because the idea that white privilege might contribute to your interpretation of Alistair's identity feels uncomfortable to think about? Are you able to recognize that regardless of your interpretation or the devs' original intent, DA:I Alistair is depicted with much lighter features than DA:O Alistair, and that this is part of a broader trend of whitewashing in media?
And maybe the most important question: Is asserting your belief (whether right or wrong) that Alistair is canonically a white red-headed man more important than ensuring that our fandom space is one where folks of color feel not only safe but enthusiastically welcomed and loved?
Because at the end of the day, that's what we're all here for. To build a community with one another. And in an ideal world, maybe posting about why Alistair has to be canonically a white redhead wouldn't mean anything beyond a simple fan theory. But that's not the world we live in. So just try to remember, that even though you're not obligated to agree with the interpretation of Alistair as a man of color, there is a reason why people feel so passionate about it and why some people view artwork of white redhead Alistair as an act of deliberate racism.
Fans of color don't have the luxury we have of playing in our escapist fantasy world without having to think about "real life problems." The least we can do, if we want to be allies, is to take these issues seriously and do some self-reflection about our fandom views.
if i were a respected british actor with any principles at all i would simply not agree to a project whose earnings will have material consequences for trans people but maybe i'm built differently

Getting back into tag games between writing (hopefully), so thank you @davrinsleftpectoral and @rooks-dagger for the tags, sublime choices!
Get a screenshot of your OC's eye colour and surround it with 8 things that are of the same colour.
Here be Eris' board:
Originally I was going to give Eris brown eyes, because I adore a deep shade of brown so much, but being #uninspired, I made them grey like my own. The shade changes quite a bit with lighting (and for writing purposes, her mood).
Just going to slap down my taglist here. Again, there's never any pressure:

Sometimes the best fic you’ve ever written isn’t on ao3. It’s in 50 frenetic discord messages sent over a fifteen minute span where you and your friend yes and each other into a perfect story that will never actually be written.
also what do you mean neve and lucanis go to stand in the same spot after walking out during the pre-tearstone/pantry scene. what is this, rook fumbling contemplation corner?
My immediate reaction to finding out TES6 will be set in Hammerfell: Okay, so how "woke" has Bethesda gotten in the last 15 years and will the gamer bros be cancelling TES6 due to the main story having too many Black people in it?

a rough timeline of events (from memory, there may be inaccuracies, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)
Cambridge professor of sociology Jason Arday is accused of plagiarism by another academic
the accuser is a "race realist" who believes that in a true meritocracy all university professors would be white. this is somehow not acknowledged much during the entire ordeal
this leads to several days of media coverage demanding an investigation, or that Arday is expelled from his post immediately
somehow this accusation that has no effect on the lives of 99.99% of the population becomes FRONT PAGE NEWS in all the newspapers for multiple days, above anything else happening in the UK or the world at large
following intense media scrutiny, Arday resigns his post as a Cambridge professor
today, august 14th, days after resigning, Arday is found dead at his home in Battersea
the British tabloid press remains, and will always be, fucking evil
