Anything that even remotely reminds him of cafes will make his head perk up and he’ll be like Cafe? Did you say cafe? Akito and I actually went to a cafe the other day. As like most days. Akito likes to find cafes that will cater to both of our tastes. Me and Akito go to cafes a lot. So he can try their pancakes. And so I can try their coffee. At the cafe. That we go to. Together. As partners. :-)

- Medibang Paint and Fire Alpaca for more cartoon style illustration

- Krita for painting

- Clip Studio Paint (not free, but often on sale and cheap even at full price) is better than PS for art and I’m about to cut adobe entirely. Even does some photo editing.

- Paint Tool SAI (again, not free but cheap) old but good, there’s a ton of hacked copies around too. Not hard to get for free.

Happy Reformation Day! Since it’s an appropriate time, I’ll show my progress for “Let’s Reformation!”, where I make the history of the Protestant Reformation more accessible by uh, turning the major reformers into anime girls…

So it’s like, a moe anime. With fight scenes sometimes… I kind of regret starting this project, but there are still reformers I want to design, and it would also be a lot of fun to link each one with a voice actress (LMK if you got ideas about that).

If your gut is telling you to cross the street or change your path, do it. Don’t risk it. Your body knows.

If you can, buy a large umbrella and walk holding it. Studies say that predators are less likely to attempt an attack on someone that could fight back. Keys around your knuckles is fine but you’ll need to get very close to do damage. Umbrellas are more precise.

Avoid wearing headphones if you are alone on an empty street. Look aware.

Again: Stay. Away. From. Walls.

Entering an uber alone? Call your father (or anyone you trust) and say “hey dad! Yep, I’m almost there, I’m sending you the route.” outloud. Then proceed to send them the route so they can follow the uber drive. This will most likely intimidate the predator.

If you see someone in an uncomfortable or possibly dangerous situation, walk up to them and say “Betty, oh my god, I haven’t seen you in so long!”. If she gets slightly confused, you can whisper and let her know you’re trying to help and that she should follow along. Walk together to another station or away from where you are. The man will most likely not follow. I have done this one 2 times and can be very helpful.

If you are unsure she needs help, you can pass her a note saying something like “hey, I noticed this man beside you is making you uncomfortable. If you’d like help, fake a sneeze right now and I will come up to you and pretend we are friends.” This is a long note, but its an example. Be discrete. If she follows along, proceed with the previous tip. This is helpful when you’re in a crowded train and you notice harassment.

- make eye contact with pedestrians. This makes it easier to recall/ identify them later

- never pull over if someone points at your car. People will come up with all types of stories to get you out of your vehicle

- don’t roll your windows down, even partially. They can be easily broken or reached through and if the person is strong enough, it won’t matter what you try to do to protect yourself

- S.I.N.G. Not musically. Stomach, instep, nose, groin. Hit all the weak points on the human body. Others include breasts (if a woman is the perp), throats, and eyes. I promise you, they will provide a quick release if enough pressure is applied

- park in a well-lit area if one is available. Under a lamp, by the door of a building, even beside a neon sign. A lot of criminals will not approach in light

- check under your car and in your backseat/trunk. People find ways to worm their way into locked cars

- lock your doors before starting your car. I drive a 99’ 4RUNNER. My doors do not lock automatically. The first thing I do when I open my drivers side door is lock the doors. I can still get out quickly if needed because my door is still open as I’m getting in, but all other doors are locked

EDIT: Scream. Bite. Scratch. Kick. Make it known that you’re in trouble. Knock things over if you can. Set off your car alarm. These things are meant for every day use but can make a world of difference in a life changing situation

Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents, your Dr’s office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across. Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and the horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.

This tip came from a neighborhood watch coordinator. Next time you come home for the night and you start to put your keys away, think of this: It’s a security alarm system that you probably already have and requires no installation. Test it. It will go off from most everywhere inside your house and will keep honking until your battery runs down or until you reset it with the button on the key fob chain. It works if you park in your driveway or garage.

If your car alarm goes off when someone is trying to break into your house, odds are the burglar/rapist won’t stick around. After a few seconds, all the neighbors will be looking out their windows to see who is out there and sure enough the criminal won’t want that. And remember to carry your keys while walking to your car in a parking lot. The alarm can work the same way there. This is something that should really be shared with everyone. Maybe it could save a life or a sexual abuse crime.

P.S. I am sending this to everyone I know because I think it is fantastic. Would also be useful for any emergency, such as a heart attack, where you can’t reach a phone. My Mom has suggested to my Dad that he carry his car keys with him in case he falls outside and she doesn’t hear him. He can activate the car alarm and then she’ll know there’s a problem.

This may save a life!
