elliott then immediately confessed and we live happily ever after

I’m headcanoning that in The Sheep Detectives Lily’s parents were killed on the road and after witnessing it she chose to forget. That’s why she has a traumatic response to it. (Along with the beautiful metaphor it represents for grieving together and crossing the road into a new phase of one’s life despite the change being terrifying.)

y'all know one of the recurring themes of sheep detectives is "remembering hurts" right? y'all also do realise that Lily isn't the only one who lost someone she cared about? y'all do realise Tim has to now live with the fact the man he thought actually believed in him? The man who thought he could solve this case, who said he could be a hero, who called him "Officer Hero", brought him breakfast, stayed by his side, was probably one of the only people who he really liked and really liked Tim too, is a lie? y'all do realise Tim will be consistently questioning himself "god, was it real?" y'all do realise anytime Tim sees a bloody camera, he'll remember Elliot? y'all do realise anytime Tim sees bloody yellow, he'll remember Elliot? y'all do realise even if he did try to move on with Rebecca, he'll look at her and think of Elliot because Elliot/Peter is her brother? y'all do realise Tim might see Elliot again in prison and Elliot will look right back at him and Tim might see nothing but coldness and hatred and Tim will look and try so hard to find the softness that was there? the smile Elliot gave him, only him? y'all do realise Tim will try to forget about Elliot/Peter but Denbrook will probably talk about the murder a lot that he never actually forgets? y'all do realise Tim probably needs major therapy? y'all do realise Peter might actually walk free because fucking hair dye isn't enough of circumstantial evidence? y'all do realise....they might meet again?
