someone on reddit raised an interesting question: do you think anya is more of a daddy’s girl or a mama’s girl

anya smiles as her papa gives her a kiss on the forehead. usually his affection was limited to headpats and the occasional hug. which meant she needed to savor this opportunity while she had it.

once loid stood back up after delivering the kiss, anya beckoned for him to lean back down. after he did so, anya immediately returned the favor by giving her papa's forehead a kiss of her own.

❝ but if anya asks papa, papa will say no! anya knows it! ❞

she's not exactly helping her case with that one. but she needed this! she had completed at least half of her homework so far, so she deserved a break, didn't she? and a treat to go along with it!

❝ come oooooooooooooooon! anya just wants one cookie! there are bunches of them in the jar, papa won't even notice that one is missing! ❞

anya, of course, leans into the hug as soon as she gets over the surprise of her mama's arms wrapping around her. she nuzzles her face against yor for a moment, a few happy giggles leaving her mouth as she does so.

she knew both her mama and her papa were in this family relationship for their own ends, and the day very well may come where both of them have finished what they need to do, and thus go their separate ways. dwelling on that thought for too long made anya sad.

but for now, her mama was here and hugging her, and anya would make sure to make every second of it last.

He finished tying her shoes by squeezing the bow taut enough for optimum comfort and efficiency. With the way she was running about, he was actually impressed with himself that he managed to notice her untied laces and zoom quick enough at her side to catch her.

“I always tell you to pay attention to your surroundings. That includes the ground and your shoes so you don’t trip over anything and fall. What if you twisted your ankle and scrapped your knee? You’d be a wailing mess and then limp to school for a week.” @telepathforger

anya, of course, hadn’t even noticed that her shoelaces were untied. why did shoes even need shoelaces to begin with? just make shoes that don’t have them, and then this won’t be a problem!

though the fact that she had almost tripped and fell flat on her face was a bit upsetting to her, anya didn’t really show any of that on her expression.

❝ thank you for helping anya’s shoes, papa. ❞ she kicked her feet a little as the laces were tied snugly, easily noticing that now her shoes were nice and secure on her feet. while she was about ready to go back to her playtime at the park on her own, she soon had an idea.

because she’s feeling generous, she had offered to take babysitting duties off of loid’s hands for the night, let him and his ‘wife’ have a date. she’s definitely not doing this as a way to check in on anya herself, figure out what’s taking operation strix so long. she’s also not doing this to feel that sense of normalcy she had long long ago, before everything was ripped away from her.

of course, to not arouse any unwanted suspicions, she’s in full disguise when she arrives to the forger residence. after wishing loid and yor a goodnight, while giving some fake response as to how she and twilight had knew each other, she approaches anya with a smile on her face.

“ hi there, miss anya. would you like to do anything special? ”

anya stared up at the woman in front of her with a small amazed look. this was one of papa’s spy friends... did they go on missions together, like bondman and his partners? anya could only imagine...

she was so caught up in her own imagination that she didn’t even register what the woman had said at first, and it was very clear by her rapidly shaking her head when she came back down from the clouds enough to give an answer.
