Trail clubs seek beer fest volunteers
Want to volunteer for the trails by drinking beer and having fun? (Okay, there's a wee bit of work involved.) Grapevine in Baxter is having their annual Beertopia Festival on March 9th and is in need of more help behind the bar. The Baxter Trail Club is coordinating volunteers for the event as a fundraiser, and if we provide volunteers, we can earn $75 per person to fund Tega Cay Trails activities!
From Charlie Lieske of Baxter Trail Club:
Grapevine, one of Baxter Trail Club's strongest supporters, has offered us a fund raising opportunity; working at Beertopia! Saturday, March 9, is the date of their annual Beertopia festival, which is held in the parking lot beside the shop. Beertopia has grown into a rather large, and very successful, event requiring more and more man power to run.
We are looking for 25 volunteers to work a variety of jobs before, during, and after, the event. From 10:00-7:00 pm, March 9, we will pour beers, deliver ice, take out trash, monitor enter and exit points, etc. You're commitment is for the full 9-hours. You'll get to enjoy the music and energy while working hard! The taps open up to volunteers after the event!
The trail club will provide each volunteer a long-sleeve Trail Club logo shirt to wear at the event and then keep. The club will use the money raised to further its mission.
Grapevine will also be providing shirts for all volunteers (so you're easy to spot), as well as food and drink for all volunteers at an after-party.
So, it requires a good bit of time commitment, but you get free beer & food, and 2 T-shirts, and the Trails Committee gets $75. It's a win-win-win-win! Email us to let us know if you're interested.
