This is not a new piece, I did it a few yrs ago, but I found it again and the paint on the Polaroid in the middle scratched off so I repainted that bit with gesso and then pen. Probably will include it in a gallery showing in may if I can find a nice way to display it, the paper edges kind of curl up so I thinking of looking for a frame? But I don’t know if it will look weird in one because of the odd edges and non-square shape. Still like this one

Um I said I’m taking a hiatus from posting my art online yesterday but I was working on this with a friend 2day and the pics she took of our setup is cute n aesthetic so I’m sharing it for that --also tumblr doesn’t make me feel as miserable about posting art as instagram does but I need to still take a hiatus from the whole thing so I can discover the feeling of making art just for me again but LEMME JUST MAKE THIS EXCEPTION ITS CUTE OK I NEED TO GO BYE!

Hello! I been a bit quiet for the past month on here… so recently i realized for the past decade, I’ve posted 90% of the art I’ve ever made.I can’t start on art anymore wthout thinking about how it will come across as a post, including my comic. This has started to paralyze me,I start something and abandon it quickly when the fear of perfectionism sets in over how it could be perceived by thousands. it impacts my view of everything I make, depending on a posts ‘success’. I’ll feel proud of what I made but if the post doesn’t do as well as another, I 2nd guess myself. It’s making me feel stunted & what I want to make vs. what I think ppl want me to make is all jumbled up in my head, I can’t separate it at all anymore. So, i think need to take a hiatus from posting my art. Im not sure how long, I just need to try for the art that I keep stopping myself from making& for my own mind & understanding my identity again. I will still be reachable/taking commissions over my email during this time tho, so feel free to reach me! Truthfully I’m afraid of even trying this, itll be hard because I’ve literally posted almost all of my art since I was 13 RIGHT here. I’ve never not shared it. But I know it is the right thing to do bc it’s impacting my ability to create more than it ever has. I keep getting burnt out quicker & quicker with shorter stretches of creative output and longer burnout periods. I need to make things without thinking of the “grade” Instagram will give it, to make bad art in private. It feels all a bit dramatic I know, but it’s what I think I need to do. I know you all will understand&I love and appreciate the courage yall give me to focus on my mental health when I speak about it. This has been a long time coming I feel. Ill be back I promise. I know it’s not bc of the people here, bc I love the community I have on here. it’s just the way socialmedia game-ifies all our passions into some grind, to never feel good enough,& to make us a machine that pumps content instead of people who connect thru sharing. thank you everyone for lifting me up and being here for me over the past decade <3 It means everything to me
