Hi guys.. Im back! Its been a little while, And.. Im doing emergency commissions !! ( ꩜ ᯅ ꩜;)⁭ ⁭

This isnt really the way I wanted to come back, but I got laid off from the job I’ve had for 4+ years earlier this week. It was really shocking and I feel like im still processing the surprise of it all, it was my safety net. But in the meantime I can work really hard on my art and see where it takes me, even though I am nervous and unsure of myself.

Regarding my hiatus; the couple months break I took was really good for me. I painted, spent time with friends, Prioritized community, took vending opportunities, and got a new cat! ^>⩊<^ I probably wouldve went on with it longer if I didn’t lose my job, but now I have all the time in the world to focus on art again, so I’m gonna take that opportunity to grow even though I’m experiencing a loss at the same time. I was working hard to fix my mental health during my break too, because I’d been struggling unmedicated with bad depression and anxiety for the past 5 years, too stubborn to get help. I finally decided I needed support again, so im working on that, and I honestly do feel better than i have in a while with the help of meds. I’m not as terrified as I always felt before, and not as irritable from hopelessness. It hasnt been that long but im feeling really hopeful. scared but im hopeful at the same time.

This is not a new piece, I did it a few yrs ago, but I found it again and the paint on the Polaroid in the middle scratched off so I repainted that bit with gesso and then pen. Probably will include it in a gallery showing in may if I can find a nice way to display it, the paper edges kind of curl up so I thinking of looking for a frame? But I don’t know if it will look weird in one because of the odd edges and non-square shape. Still like this one

Last minute Rei ayanami closet cosplay for a convention I kind of (?) successfully snuck into today / slight fit change to see 1tbsp tonight

#I got into the actual convention center easily but you had to continuously flash your badge to get into artist alley #or panel rooms etc #I ended up leaving cuz I’m a cheapskate but I saw some really cool cosplays today #me
