{ kingsley }:
“It was.” Although, it wasn’t just because of the book, like he’d made it sound. Emrys coming back had really shaken him - it was great news, but it was weird, and he couldn’t stop thinking about how it could have happened, and how he’d gotten away now of all times. “Oh, it was one of those weird journals from a couple hundred years ago… you don’t want to know.”
“Don’t wanna know, got it.” Ted chuckled slightly, raising his hands on either side of his head. After a bit, he lowered his hands and sighed. “I’m guessing you’ve heard about Emrys then? That he’s back.”
{ gilderoy }:
“er, no,” gil shook his head in confusion, “it’s literally just a greasy circle of cheese, lad. sorry to disappoint.” he chuckled.
“You wound me,” he said, raising a hand to his own chest. “Pizza is one of life’s best comfort foods, and you’re telling me you don’t like it?”
{ andromeda }:
Andromeda hadn’t meant to avoid him. With the stress of her berothal, she’d just – pulled away a little. She wasn’t entirely sure how to react to it. When he’d owled her, Andromeda wasn’t sure if she should go – but she knew Ted would be able to take her mind off of it. Things always seemed to be easy with him, despite the fact they had to hide their friendship.
She’d made her way to the kitchens, the corners of her lips curving up into a smile as she saw him. “Not on purpose, I promise,” She murmured, a sigh escaping her lips as she moved towards him. “I– I’m just stressed, is all. My mother decided that I ought to be betrothed.” She admitted, tucking her hair behind her ear. “To my ex’s cousin. It’s not been an entirely pleasant few days. I apologise for not coming to see you, though. I’ve missed our chats.”
He smiled a bit easier when she smiled, but her next words caused it to fall. “A...A betrothal? ‘Dromeda, I’m...I’m so sorry, I know this can’t be easy.” Ted glanced around the hall bore opening the door to the kitchens, placing his hand between her shoulder blades once he stepped closer. “I feel like it’s going to be a ‘hidden stash of alcohol’ kind of evening. Come on, we talk about this inside, yeah?
Ted had at seen Andromeda in a while and he was starting to worry about her. He figured she was okay, but he couldn’t stop the nagging voice in the back of his mind that told him to reach out. That evening, he’d sent her an owl, telling her to meet him in ‘their spot,’ something that couldn’t be known unless she had told anyone. That night, he’d shown up outside the kitchens, waiting for her to round that corner and allow his heart to stop beating so quickly. Soon enough, he’d gotten his wish, but the beat of his heart didn’t slow down. “I was beginning to worry you were avoiding me,” Ted said with a half-smile. “You don’t have to stay long, I just wanted to check in and see if you were okay.”

{ elise }:
Elise paused as Ted made eye contact with her, having had stumbled over the whole situation by complete surpise. “Wood-fired pizza oven?” She repeated curiously, stopping to think about it. The whole idea didn’t sound bad. “Would the elves even know how to cook with it? Actually- don’t they already have it?”
“Ah, ah, ah,” he said with a smile. “They have an oven--probably because some muggleborn wanted to cook with it--but not a wood-fired pizza oven! We all love pizza, don’t we, it’d taste so much better than now!”
{ gilderoy }:
gilderoy sneered as he was called out, rolling his eyes. “and what’s in it for me? a greasy circle of cheese?” he scoffed, the thought of it making him laugh. “i’ll take my chances, thanks.”
“Greasy circle of cheese?” Ted’s eyes widened a bit and he shook his head. “Pizza is so much more than that, mate! It’s like pure joy in a meal!”
{ mary }:
“You literally had me at pizza, not going to lie,” Mary laughed. “I would definitely sign that petition, nothing better than home-made wood-fired pizza.”
“Perfect!” He smiled widely, holding out the petition to her. “Just one little signature and we’re closer to get that pizza, Mary!”
{ regulus }:
Regulus normally didn’t mind the Gryffindors. He’d lived with one for much of his life, and he’d never had any issues. However, after a long day, the last thing he wanted to hear was a loud Gryffindor yelling about something. He’d finally gotten up to leave, glad that he was done eating and didn’t have to deal with it anymore… but somehow, when he was looking at him and trying not to roll his eyes, the other caught his eyes. The brunet paused for a moment and frowned, only now realizing what he’d been on about. “Couldn’t the elves just transfigure the oven to make it be a wood-fired pizza oven?”
“They could yes, but the magic would be taxing, wouldn’t it?” He shrugged slightly. “It’d be so much easier for them if they already had the means rather than having to create and oven each week just to cook dinner for all of us.”
{ xander }:
Xander raised his eyebrows at the other and stopped in his tracks where he’d been passing to get to the slytherin table, glancing around before pointing at himself. “Me?” he questioned. “If you want to talk pizza, wouldn’t it be easier to use a regular over rather than a fire one?” he asked, shrugging his shoulders. “I’ll sign the petition, but I’d suggest a regular oven. Quicker, aren’t they?”
“Yes, you!” Ted laughed a bit and shook his head. “Quicker, yes, but pizza just tastes so much better being cooked on a wood-fire oven. It’s all about the way something is cooked that makes it better.”

{ molly }:
Molly loved baking and cooking, and trying out new things in the kitchen was part of the fun. And when she heard the other mention a wood-fired pizza oven, she realized she never even tried that. So quickly, a grin spread on her face. “I’ll only sign it if you show me how to use it once it’s there.” She replied. “Do you think it’ll work though? It’d be fun to have one but would they allow it?”
“Of course, Molls!” He smiled widely. “You know I’d love to have a buddy in the kitchen with me! I love cooking by myself, but it’s always nice to have a friend to talk to and spend some time with.”
{ kingsley }:
Kingsley let out a heavy sigh at his question, shaking his head a bit. “It was just a book, but it was written almost a hundred years ago… and I can’t believe some of the things they really thought were true.” Kingsley admitted, shaking his head. “I don’t particularly like coffee, but I need it today.”
Ted chuckled and shook his head. “Must’ve really been a sleepless night if you need coffee.” He flashed Kingsley and smile. “Though, it does have more caffeine than tea, so I don’t blame you. Well, now I’m curious--what exactly did you learn?”
{ @finestra-starters }
“I’m just saying,” Ted said, gesturing wildly with his hands as he stood to the side of the Gryffindor table. “If the kitchens had a wood-fired pizza oven, we’d all be a lot happier, and I could make pizzas for everyone around. Now! If that sounds like a good idea, start by signing my petition. You there--” As he made eye-contact with someone, he smiled-- “How about you sign my petition for a wood-fired pizza oven in the kitchens?”
{ kingsley }:
“Someone has to stop me from reading old literature and journals before going to sleep. Last night I read something… interesting, to say the least, and now I can’t get the image out of my head. I barely slept at all.” Kingsley admitted as he sipped at a cup of coffee - not his usual drink, but, like he said, he didn’t sleep much.
@finestra-starters
Ted glanced up from his breakfast, smiling slightly before he gave him a curious look. “What exactly did you read that kept you up for so long?” He glanced down at the coffee and chuckled. “I’ve very rarely seen you drink coffee.”
{ emmeline }:
“…and really, no one even talks about how important it is to have a female in power! We’ve only had males in charge for decades and look where that’s brought us.” Emmeline finished her tirade, her cheeks a little pink from the lack of air during her speech. She deflated slightly when she looked at the person across from her. “Oi, were you even listening?” She asked with a frown, leaning back against her chair and crossing her arms.
@finestra-starters
“Of course I was listening,” he said, holding his hands out on either side of him. “I was just processing it before I added anything to the conversation! I think you’re right though. A woman in charge would give a much needed perspective to a lot of our prevailing issues, honestly.”

{ andromeda }:
“I just flat out refused,” Andromeda laughed softly, shaking her head, before letting out a sigh. “Feels like I am,” She admitted, before a small smile crossed her lips. “Mind if I join in making them? It’s been a while since I’ve been in the kitchen making things for myself. I kind of miss it.”
“Sounds like you.” He chuckled, turning to search for the last couple ingredients. “Want to start measuring the flour? ‘Dromeda, you know you can always steal me away to cook or bake if you need to. We both know I can never say no to you.”
{ andromeda }:
“Yeah, the stares get a little much at times. It’s like people are waiting for you to just break,” She sighed, running a hand through her already unkempt hair. She was sure she looked a state and her mother would be less than pleased, but she didn’t feel the need for false presences around Ted. “Oh, she’s tried with me, I think she gave up years ago,” Andromeda admitted sheepishly. “I- I don’t know. I’m exhausted and I’m worried about my family and Sirius won’t talk to me. I just constantly feel like I’m screwing up, like I can’t do anything right.”
Ted nodded, knowing she was under more of microscope than he was. He had his own societal problems to deal with, but he hadn’t had to worry about his own family not approving of him like she did. “Maybe I need to take a page out of your book and figure out how to get her to let me stay.” He smiled softly, letting her know he was just teasing until he heard her next words. “You’re not screwing up, ‘Dromeda. Usually--” Ted moved back to the cabinets, searching for a few ingredients-- “When I feel like I’m screwing everything up, I make pancakes. If the distraction doesn’t help, usually eating something does.”
