âNo, of course not,â he scowled, though he downed the rest of his punch a little too quickly. Noah made a face, looking at the offending cup, âWell, youâre a girl. Girls are allowed to be short. Itâs cute on girls,â he grumbled, though he hadnât meant to outright call her cute. It wasnât like she wasnât, but he didnât want to embarrass her at a party. He smirked slightly when she took a drink, and he took her cup, pouring the rest of hers into his, âEasy, killer. Itâs supposed to be more fun with alcohol, but everyone in this house is underage, Teddy. If weâre caught drinking, weâre dead for,â he pointed out, despite the fact that there were a few 21 year olds in the building.
âDid you?â he smiled as well, thinking about how much money heâd stashed in his pocket before heâd left the house. Noah had scrounged together something that his father had lying around. âTeds, thatâs the point,â he grinned, looking at the punch bowl. âNo one knows whatâs in it. Apparently it was regular fruit punch at first. Then it turned into add some vodka, a little bit of rum, some sprite. Not sure what else, but itâsâŚan acquired taste.â
Teddy shrugged her shoulders when he looked back down. âYou seem plenty tall to me,â she offered, trying to encourage him a bit. It was a habit she had picked up from the first time he let her try to help him with the tutoring in earnest. âBesides, I can hardly tell the difference in height between you and the rest of them from way down here.â Teddy could feel her cheeks burn red when he said short was cute on girls, because there was, sitting there being short and a girl.
When Noah took the rest of her drink after sheâd had a measly two sips she felt a little indignant. She probably wouldnât have finished the entire cup, that was true, but she tended to get a little frustrated when people took her options away from her, like her mother so often did. But she couldnât react, not without having to explain. The thought made her quick to make sure her old scar and device were covered by her braid. âWell, now itâs all yours anyway.â  Likely, it was for the best. She hadnât drank before, even a few sips of her motherâs this or her fatherâs that, and she honestly had no idea what the alcohol might do in conjunction with her heart medication. Despite that, she heard herself ask, âWell, is there something else to drink then?âÂ
