Para 2
Excitement bubbled up in Teddys stomach as they fled to the backdoor. An adventure waiting to happen, even if it was on a trampoline. As soon as Lennon grabbed Theodoreâs hand, his first instinct was to take it back. His conscious told him it was a friendly gesture, Cam would love that theyâre basically best friend right now. So he held on. He looked down at it as she led the way, glancing at her backside once or twice before the chill air danced on his skin. The boy smiled with his entire face, when she looked back him. He searched the backyard, music floating in the air, with the stench of coverages. Teddy scrunched his nose at the smell, reminding him of his grandfather, once a heavy smoker. The boy opened his eyes when his hand fell to his side, noting sheâd let it go. âYouâre fine,â he lifted his arm and let her hug around it. Loving the warmth of her body pull to his, he helped steady each other forward. When Lennie called his name, he was all ears. A huge grin plastered his face at her secret. He knew exactly the same feeling. âDo you really? I was thinking the exact same thing.â Teddy looked down at her jade eyes and smiled again, his face pulling at her. âCam, doesnât seem like sheâd be much fun to party with. At least lately she isnât, sheâs quite boring.â Theodore chuckled at his honest words. He ran his fingers though his hair and noticed they were face to face with the trampoline. Looking at the girl he noticed it was half her size, so he went to one knee and laced his fingers together, palms up. âIâll help you. Jump on.â It was a childish act, something he always did, since he was always the tallest. Once Lennie was on, the boy rolled his body on the black platform that made his body rise a bit. He raged in a fit of giggles looking up at Lennie. He stood on his feet, feeing like a newborn deer, springing to life. âI donât think Iâll make it up here. Iâm pretty drunk now, oh shit.â Falling to his bum, chuckling, he caught his head. âFuck, Iâm ditzy. Letâs crack that bottle open then jump, what do you say?â
âBoringâ you could say that again,â Lennon snorted, flicking her hair off her shoulder. Of course she loved Cammie, she was her best friend. But even Lennie had noted that recently, Cams had calmed down quite a bit. Whenever Lennon and the other girls wanted out, Camile took up the excuse that she didnât feel well, or she wanted to hang out with her boyfriend instead. Admittedly, Lennon wasnât a fan of Teddy when sheâd first heard of him. She blamed it on natural-best-friend-instinct, the quick judgement coming from a rooted belief that her best friend was too good for everyone. But when Lennon had finally met Theodore, sheâd quickly changed her mind. He was quickly becoming her new favoriteâ unbeknownst to Camile. Gripping onto the trampoline with one hand, Lennon eyed the contraption. It was about half her size, and she could barely walk on her own two feetâ how was she to hop on? Until she heard Teddy from her side, glancing over with a surprised expression as she saw him kneel down with his fingers laced together, palms facing upwards for her to step onto. âReally? Thanks!â she replied happily, nodding quickly before tucking the bottle of alcohol and cups under her arm, stepping her shoe onto his laced hands and hoisting herself up onto the trampoline. âWhoa, shit,â she mumbled, met with the bouncy material as she crawled onto it haphazardly. She glanced back at Teddy with a wide grin, her cheeks tinted from the cold and the drunken state of mind she was intoxicated with. âDonât hurt yourself,â she laughed loudly, hand set on his shoulder as he fell down, steadying him with herself. âHell yeah,â she nodded, tucking her legs underneath herself as she quickly unscrewed the cap of the bottle, handing over his cup and setting hers between her knees to grip. âYou never told me much about yourself, Teddy,â she commented as she poured them both some liquor, glancing up at him before screwing the cap to the bottle back on. âWhat you study, and stuff. I wanna hear about youâ like, you-you,â she smiled, setting the bottle down beside her as she tucked her wild, silky waves behind her ear. âWeâre bonding, you gotta tell me more about the great Teddy,â she added in a fit of giggles.
Setting himself down on the black bouncy platform, he brought his legs up resting his elbows on his knees. Teddy covered his face momentarily letting the alcohol set in more. It started to seep in his skin and in his veins, making him ditzy. He smiled when she mention the time they were spending together, he liked spending time with her. Even if it was only the second time. âThe great Teddy,â The boy repeated. âWell, I live with my best friend, his name is Daniel. He had like seven cats.â He laughed at the thought of his best friend of his feline friends. âWhenever he invites girls over, theyâre suddenly mine.â Teddy chuckled looking at Lennie as she moved the bottle of alcohol around. âI donât have much friends because I work most of the time. Or study. I go to school for basics as of right now.â He nodded at the thought of school spending all his time. âCamila is my first girlfriend in almost two years.â Feeling weird from bringing up the forgotten girlfriend, Teddy shrugged and tried to focus on Lennieâs green eyes. In the torchlight that lit up only the right side of her face, it was like night and day. One eye was green orange, and the other almost black. Her wavy hair flowed down the side of her face, almost covering her eye. Teddy leaned over and grabbed the lock of her, moving it behind her ear. His fingers lingered there for a second, running over the softness of her pink shade cheeks. âYouâre really beautiful, Lennon.â Teddy smiled at her and removed his hand, placing his elbow back on his knee. âYou know, I didnât think Iâd be comfortable with meeting you at first. But Cam was so pushy about it.â Glancing back at Lennie, he chuckled again. He leaned in again and grabbed the cup she had filled with alcohol. âIâm excited I bumped into you today too, otherwise Iâd probably be sitting on the couch by myself. Probably staring at you.â He pressed the cup to his lips and swallowed it, warming his throat and face.Â
