#she is

she repeatedly called javadi a nickname that javadi said made her uncomfortable/she didn't like! she even mocked her for it- pulled the classic, "it's just a joke, but if YOU think it's mean i won't *sigh*." she made it seem like it was such an inconvience that a girl she barely knew wouldn't understand her humor.

she WAS making mistakes [in season one] that would've been prevented if she had presented to a senior or the attending first. YES, i understand that she didn't feel comfortable presenting to langdon, BUTTTTT collins was ALSO a senior that she could've presented her cases to.

she DOES bring her baggage to the job, like mohan said in season one.

she has a very abrasive bedside manner, which is easily perceived as rudeness.

ALSO, yes, she is also undeniably kind and loving. she takes whitaker in, despite barely knowing him. she lets him live rent free and eat her food, purely because she thinks its right.

she extends an offer of friendship to mel, who is kind of alone and awkward.

however, that DOESNT override her negative traits, like so many of you think. in the same way that her negative traits don't override her positive ones.

she IS complicated. she IS rude to her colleagues at times (more in season one than season two). she CAN BE unlikable. she DOES love so strongly. stripping her of any of that strips her of her HUMANITY. humans are complicated and messy. she is mean and kind. she is unlikable and loveable.

she's difficult and acknowledging that isn't inherently misogynistic. it's who she IS. it's why she's so interesting, it's why she's so compelling. it's also why she's so tragic- she's clearly a loving girl who was so bright and outwardly nice before what happened to her as a teenager.
