Was talking to my dad about how the new live action Moana flopped hard and he mentioned supergirl flopping in theaters. It triggered my ‘I know exactly why that is’ mode and I explained that general audiences (majority men) for superhero movies usually dislike solo female superhero movies and he was like ‘yeah I see that’ and when I went into a really vague synopsis about the film and was about to talk about why such a story doesn’t resonate with men he stopped me when I went to the “basically she hunts down and beats up these traffickers” and says “see you had me until that point. Super heroes fight the big bad super villain- trafficking rings isn’t really a super hero thing to deal with” and I just stared at him like 🧍‍♂️😐. Wtf does that even MEAN??? You’re proving my point!

AC in the house broke at some point so we’re using the emergency box fans to at least push the air around but they’re loud and the cat is so, so scared of them and she’s sitting in the hallway crying her heart out. Reading through world war z and it has some really interesting concepts like feral children or the organ transplant virus thing or even the dogs! (my favorite part was with the pilot and Mets) You just have to constantly remind yourself it was written by a white guy in 2006 and the movie isn’t even close to the same story

Why is it so common to use paper schedules at jobs. I was talking to my mom about that Elle series and how I didn’t think she needs a prequel series and should get a sequel series about her being a badass lawyer. So she tells me it’s a really good idea and I should write the screenplay and pitch it and I told her writing screenplays and writing fanfiction are different wheelhouses and Idk how to do that and she looks me in the eye and tells me to use AI.

Got to purchase iron lung and I was reminded of going to see it with my mom. There were three other people in the theater with us (a woman in the far corner and a couple literally right behind us in pre-bought seats) and at some point I hear the girl behind me go “is he gonna take his shirt off?” And then when it actually happened I could hear her quietly freaking out and her boyfriend asking what was wrong lmao

Was waiting to get into the Backrooms movie because we got there too early and the staff was cleaning the theater and the theater behind us was for the Michael Jackson film. A group of people were going into the Michael Jackson screening and when they passed by someone??? Spit??? On the poster???? And started cursing???WHY?!??? YOU’RE GOING TO SEE THAT EXACT MOVIE WHY ARE YOU MAD!??

Met a man today with one of my brothers’ name (spelled exactly the same) who’s sister has my deadname (also spelled exactly the same) and a nephew with my other brother’s name (one letter off) and I haven’t been this fascinated and confused in a WHILE

Finished my copy of Project Hail Mary and my mom’s immediate reaction was to ask to borrow it so I’m considering that a Win
