i have made the decision that i'm going to make a multi-muse blog for all of my characters so that they're all in one place and i don't feel so scattered.

i liked having them separated but i think it'll just be easier for me in the long run since i keep feeling like i'm ignoring my characters when i just feel too scatter brained.

so give me a bit to get that all made up and i'll follow people/give out the link. <3

𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕   𝒅𝒐   𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕   —   she   fights   against   the   instinct   to   lean   into   his   gentle   touch.   his   fingers   gliding   over   the   side   of   her   face   before   tucking   the   strand   of   hair   behind   her   ear,   lingering   longer   than   they   are   needed.   we've   been   down   this   road   enough   times   to   know   it   leads   to   no   where.   but,   somehow,   that   fact   alone   doesn't   keep   them   from   trying.   she   turns   her   eyes   away.   

he  knew  the  boundaries  they'd  mutually  put  into  place,  but  the  more  they  were  around  each  other,  the  more  those  boundaries  felt  muddied  and  tangled,  especially  when  he  can  see  the  look  in  her  eyes,  something  so  unlike  when  they  were  mindlessly  hooking  up. . .

she  hadn't  made  her  case  yet,  but  she  intended  to  convince  him  -  she  needed  one  of  his  prototypes.  the  most  recent  addition  to  her  bow  collection  was  pretty  stellar,  a  kree  composite  soul  bow.  it  was  attuned  to  her  physiological  responses.  with  every  perfect  aim,  there  was  precision  to  interstellar  levels.  the  results  were  damn  near  nuclear.

he's  not  stunned  by  the  sight  of  her.  she  made  a  habit  of  turning  up  to  his  place  unannounced.  after  a  night  on  patrol,  she  was  looking  to  rest  and  kick  back.  she  liked  watching  him  work.  knowledge  she  valued.  maybe  she  could  actually  learn  something.

 “if  i  were  a  rattlesnake  at  your  heel,  you'd  have  been  bit.”  her  lips  quirk  upwards  too.  she's  holding  the  blaster  with  one  hand,  trigger  finger  is  residing  along  the  barrel.  she  sets  it  down  carefully  back  where  she  found  it.

“what's  that  one  do?”  she  wants  to  touch  all  of  them.  the  sight  of  some  new  prototypes  being  worked  on,  tooled  about,  make  her  giddy. 

"you  don't  want  to  see  your  new  bow?"  he  quips  back,  returning  to  where  he'd  just  been  standing,  tossing  the  tool  he'd  forgotten  in  the  other  room  the  short  distance  from  where  he  stood  to  his  desk,  the  small  item  clattering  against  the  glass  desk  top.

Howard narrowed his eyes. The flickering neon lights hurt the longer he lingered around the city centre. He turned his left wrist -- twenty past eleven. He'd been on the job for several days by now and he was aching, bleeding inside to be done with it.

The music, the scent, the noise. Tinny, acrid, nauseating. All around overstimulating. These were the signs of a hungry, hungry caterpillar, and Howard knows he was in trouble. The sooner he dropped this datadisk off and earned his bounty for it, the sooner he could get his meal, and this gods-damned headache might just end.

He turned to the left into a narrow alleyway, past bar crawlers reeking of alcohol and vomit, joytoys whispering into his feed for a good time, and vendors shouting ads at the edge of his digital periphery. This was an assault of a kind Howard never thought he could endure, but endure he must.

The noise began to peter out the higher up the building he went, towards the rendezvous point. His contact had already been there, five minutes early.

Towering above the slums below, the view of the city from up here was breathtaking. Ugly, but breathtaking. It was a welcome respite to have the cool night air billow past him. The rooftop was lit only by one or two LEDs; while bright for their size, it was nothing as vicious. In fact, as he closed in on the stranger's location, they merely cast a dim glow against the concrete and rusting pipes around them.

"Password." He asked. If this was the man he was supposed to rendezvous with, he would have known it to be Howard's birth date.

Cael himself was deceptively average looking — average height, build, no visual changes about him. His abnormality is what was keeping him alive behind the cage of bones in his chest — a cyber heart that had replaced the original organ when he was born, and a camouflaged chest plate that mimicked his own skin.

Another thing to note about Cael was he was always perpetually early to meetings, gatherings, parties — fashionably late was never a part of his nature. Especially when it pertained to business.

Taking in the city from where he stood on the rooftop of a building he'd chosen at random, the mixture of smells and sounds were enough to overwhelm the senses if one weren't used to it or were spilling out onto the streets intoxicated, but Cael grew up in the city, so he was used to it...to an extent at least. He most definitely wasn't immune to it's dizzying effects at times.

"I didn't know you existed at this time of the night." She grins, slipping into her business persona. If his smile doesn't quite meet the eyes, her's won't either. C1RCU7 locks the tablet and sets it down so that she can set both boots on the floor. Cael was nice enough, but given C1RCU7's line of work, she wasn't exactly one that trusted easily.

"But funny you should turn up. I did get a little delivery this afternoon. I haven't unpacked it yet, so I don't know if your item's in it, but for a pretty please I'll go get it and we can see."

She'll probably go anyway. She needs to unpack the box, so may as well be now.

with C1RCU7 though, he let his guard down some, but not completely, out of all the people he's worked with for business, she was one of the handful that got to see more of a genuine side of him.
