“I got asked to be someone’s personal heater today. She wanted me to stand beside her and have flames coming from my palms close to her but at a safe enough distance. Who do some of the people here think they are?” He was laughing until his ego came back around and he scrunched up his nose in irritation at his own question, the laughter ceasing immediately until it dawned on him that he was letting his restless mood get the better of him: he didn’t want to ruin their evening out at the mall for Bebe.
“... I guess it was kind of funny. Hey, I, I missed you, I guess,” mentally kicking himself, he was sure he sounded like a weirdo: they’d seen each other last only two nights ago. “I mean, I hate everyone, but- how was your weekend?”
