Item 5:  ZOOM PANEL #4 TUESDAY, AUGUST 2 AT 11:00AM PT (Pacific Time): Fraser Cain, Universe Today Zoom Challenge: Fraser Cain from Universe Today described why space exploration is critical for the progress of humanity, but it's a big universe and we're going to need a lot of help, so it's time to get machines in on the creativity. Build a Von Neumann probe: a self-replicating robot or device capable of making a new version of itself. Is a 3-D printerbot, printing a new 3-D printerbot? Is it a knitted knittingbot, knitting another knittingbot? A dancerbot that makes its own backup dancerbots? Show us your most creative Von Neumann probe. Be sure to show us that it can be turned off — we don't want a Reaper situation on our hands! Post your videos on social media, tagging @fcain, @universetoday and #GISH.

ZOOM PANEL #5 TUESDAY, AUGUST 2 AT 4:00PM PT (Pacific Time): Lyle the Therapy Gecko Zoom Challenge: The position of Therapy Gecko has already been filled by our friend, Lyle. Dress up as a different reptile and dispense some life advice to a stranger. Post the video of your unlicensed therapy session on Instagram, tagging @Lyle4ever and #GISH.

Item 7:  ZOOM PANEL #6 WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3 AT 12:00PM PT (Pacific Time): Laura Jack, Compassion Code Academy Zoom Challenge: Laura Jack described how everyone has struggles that they often hide from public view. Make a reusable, portable sign (such as a chalkboard, whiteboard, or letter board) that says “I am struggling with ______________” OR “The truth is, I feel ______________” and get someone to fill in the blank with something that has been challenging them. Take a photo of them holding the sign and posing in the most happy, beautiful, carefree pose they can. Post your image on Instagram, tagging #GISH and @laurajackcoaching. Make sure you have their permission to post their photo! Laura would love for people to read pages 7-9 from the Compassion Code Starter Guide before attempting the challenge so they can be kind and thoughtful about their approach.

Item 8:  ZOOM PANEL #7 THURSDAY, AUGUST 4 AT 3:00PM PT (Pacific Time): Jeremy Abbott, Librarian/Lawyer, researcher of public spaces & access Zoom Challenge: Too many public spaces aren’t really public at all — demographic or socioeconomic barriers limit accessibility of some public spaces and facilities in discriminatory ways. Let’s do something about it: Find something in your neighborhood that is supposedly public but not truly accessible to all — like park benches with those annoying bars so you can’t lie down on them which makes them inaccessible to people experiencing homelessness. Find a way to resolve these secret barriers to entry or write a letter to city hall asking them to fix it. Post your solution on social media and tag @librarianjer (on Twitter only) and #GISH.

Item 9:  ZOOM PANEL #8 FRIDAY, AUGUST 5 AT 9:00AM PT (Pacific Time): Lily Hevesh, Domino Artist Extraordinaire Zoom Challenge: In the award-winning documentary, Lily Topples The World, Lily Hevesh says of her life before the domino community, "The old Lily was kinda shy and scared of opening up. I was just... like.... lonely, yeah [....] I didn't know how to be me because I didn't know who I was." Using a minimum of 50 dominoes, blocks, books or other 'topple-able' building materials, create and topple a word or a design that represents something unique to who you are. Record it as it topples and post it on Instagram, tagging @Hevesh5 and #GISH.

Item 10:  ZOOM PANEL #9 FRIDAY, AUGUST 5 AT 4:00PM PT (Pacific Time): Annabeth Gish, Actress Zoom Challenge: Annabeth Gish is a passionate advocate of The Unusual Suspects Theatre Company, which brings performance arts access to underserved young people. One of their programs is the "Neighborhood Voices Program," which encourages adults, elders, and kids to co-write a modernized fable. Take a page from their (play)book: Working with someone who is at least one generation younger than you, co-write a one-page intergenerational fractured fairy tale. Post your story online and tag @annabethgish (@annabeth_gish on Instagram) and #GISH.

Item 11:  ZOOM PANEL #10 SATURDAY, AUGUST 6 AT 11:00AM PT (Pacific Time): Bobak Ferdowsi, Aerospace Engineer Zoom Challenge: Curiosity Rover the Pup! Your cat is the Leo constellation! Dress up a pet in real life to become a famous space icon! Don't have any furbabies of your own? Draw or paint your ideal space pet. Use this fun mascot in a poster to promote the importance of STEM/STEAM in the lives of young people! Post your creation online and tag @tweetsoutloud and #GISH.

Item 14:  Is it a party hat or a piece of pizza? Why not both? Create a festive, edible pizza party hat made of actual pizza. -Kristin L.

Item 15:  (UP TO 30 SECONDS) In the (F)unknown, wherever we go, we never walk alone — we get around together by synchronized skipping. Show us your otherworldly routine with at least 5 skippers vibing to a rhythmic, techno beat.

Item 16:  I often make other people get tattoos, but this year I'm flipping the script and making you help me get one: Design a pointillism-style tattoo for my shoulder that incorporates a baby cheetah, a sockeye salmon and the words "wild and precious life" or something similar. The baby cheetah represents my son; the sockeye salmon, my daughter… and the phrase has deep meaning to me. I intend to use a mashup of the designs I like best, so give it all you've got. (Then, if you are so inclined, get a pointillist tattoo of three things that have deep significance to you — but you don't have to do this part to get your Points.)

Item 17:  What’s your GISH sign? Create an “astrological star chart” coloring book page for your GISH star sign using past GISH mascots as the astrological symbols, but instead of Taurus (the bull), it’s I.M. Possubull, and so on. Add your sign’s horoscope for GISH Week at the bottom.
