A tumour is just the start...

BUT - good news everyone!

Finally I come back - and remember I got this random message. To be honest, I thought that, then I have heard of so many people seeing The Force Awakens, then wanting to see the others. Any in is a good one

Hey there everyone. So it's been a while since I've posted anything health related, but I thought it was time for a wee update.

I am doing really well to be honest, had an MRI scan about 2 weeks ago, and everything came back as expected. The Oncologist has me put in for another at the end of January. That will give us a clear idea of everything that is going on in that head of mine. Lots of people have asked what Katie​ and I are doing this year, and it's a little hard to give a clear answer. As I won't get the all clear from the docs until I finish my monthly chemo in March. So for all those planning on doing stuff with us, plan away (Katie loves it!), we just can't give you s 100% percent commitment - just a 98.75% chance

The other major thing is https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/glovers/ is finishing at midnight tonight. The support we have received through this has been phenomenal. Emotionally, physically and financially has been astounding. We love all of you so much who have helped.

So I guess the story is, thank you everyone. At times I feel like I'm just cruising this, then I realise I was awake 6 months ago with a guy taking a tumour out of my brain. So I guess I get a little free pass. Thank you so much to Katie and my family for everything they have done to support us, we are so lucky to have the family we do.

Hey there everyone... ahahah - insert bad joke about no followers here :P

So I have just finished my second dose of follow up Chemo at the maximum amount they are going to give me during this time (and for the next 4 - 380mg daily of Temadol). Had a pretty rough day on day 3, but I think that was a combo of up early, didn’t sleep well that night, just lots of stuff. And ya know chemo as well. However, feeling pretty good sitting here so winning.

Had my first MRI after everything has gone on. As I was told, it didn’t really show much due to swelling from the radiation and from brain still calming down from surgery. Oncologist reckons everything looks hunky dory and where it should be. Have another MRI booked in for end of January, and that’ll be the big reveal to show where I’m at. It’s kinda scary when she says things like whether the tumour has come back and stuff like that, cause ya know, that’s not how the script was meant to be written. But there we are. So for now, I’m just looking forward to getting down to Christchurch to see my family over Xmas, and doing some touring around the South Island. Money is far from over flowing from our wallets so annoyingly that’s always a concern of mine, and urgh, dealing with WINZ trying to get a benefit FML

Hey - actually I’m lurking around on this still quite a bit. I’ve actually been feeling really good, so oddly I’ve been posting less and all round being useless online cause I feel like actually getting out and doing things.

As much as The Oatmeal at times can be quite obnoxious (despite my agreeing with basically everything he says)

I wonder with Bond whether it was product placement or British ‘fuck yeah we’re the best’ pride?

I think the thing with movies nowadays, is that there is always going to be product placement, and you just have to not overthink it. Have a laugh afterwards if you kind of realise that they crammed a product in, but otherwise oh well. Like the margaritaville guy who saves both his drinks. All round hilarious and ridiculous.

I think they are saying Spectre (the new James Bond movie - just fyi if you didn’t know it), is meant to be chock full of placements. But oh well.
