Anyways do you ever think about how Mike and Mal are mirrors of one another. How their goals are both security, which they maintain via control. How Mal chases others away while Mike does anything to keep them close, and how they both do this until it hurts. How they see each other as a threat, trying to rob them of their safety and normalcy, when really they’re one and the same for better and for worse. How there’s a literal mirror in their headspace that they only use to communicate when they’re at their worst. Do you ever think about how Mal literally says no one will mess with Mike if he’s in charge. Do you ever think about how Mike was so scared of people seeing Mal that he dropped a fucking boulder on his head— and maybe he wasn’t just afraid of what would happen to them, but what would happen to Mal, even if it went unsaid. Do you ever think about how they probably cared for each other deep down, but could never look over their own anger for long enough to see it; about how if it weren’t for the shitty ableist out the writers gave Mike by erasing Mal, the two would’ve inevitably had to find a way to fix their relationship, because what other option would there be after spending weeks if not on-and-off years trying and failing to destroy each other, becoming perhaps more miserable than they’d ever been in the process.
