Jolly Effing Christmas || Eva & Taylor
Eva already knew what Taylor was going to guess the moment her lips parted and formed an âoâ shape, beautifully lighting up her face when she did that. That babe would never guess what. Sentimentality wasnât what Eva always did in front of Taylor, she had to get it at the right time, not if she wanted an earful of poor jokes and tons of back slapping - what she always thought was Taylorâs way of letting everyone know that she is hardcore, or a way for Taylor to bury her feelings lest she got hurt. It annoyed Eva sometimes, but she was so used to Taylor the jokes usually breezed past her without her even noticing. She just thought Taylor could do with a little bit less avoidance and more confrontation about her own feelings. It made things easier for Eva too, for reasons she could not understand. For some reason she wanted to take this friendship beyond laughing and fooling around and sharing each otherâs clothes all the time. It was natural, she thought, for a friendship so long, to mature into something closer to soul mate material.
"Guess again," she smirked, facing the floor as she handed the package to her, hoping she wouldnât laugh it off this time. "Real cool," she laughed, grabbing her present off the couch. "Real classy. Where did you get the wrapper? Walmart?" As soon as it left her mouth she felt slightly panicky. Hoping that Taylor wouldnât misread her words as a snarky insult, she threw herself onto the couch, white roses bouncing in their bouquet, rustling and throwing droplets of water everywhere. She placed it gently on the couch.
"Could I open it?" After Taylor gave her the go-ahead, she gently undid the wrapping, noticing how the tape was aligned with the edges of the paper, and imagining Taylorâs fingers carefully reaching out, fingerprints embedded into the tape, cursing as she held the paper together and firmly pressed the tape onto the surface, yelling âdone!â and flinging the package around after she finished. Then she decided she wouldnât have flung it around because it felt heavy. She opened the package to reveal⌠a vibrator. she stared at it for a while then it hit her. Her first vibrator!
She felt a huge bubble of laughter come up from her throat and she snorted. âOh, wow,â she said, and then when she couldnât stand it anymore, squealed with laughter, rolling on the couch and slapping Taylor on her thighs. âFuck! Taylor, this is fucking hilarious. God, it even has a adjustment slider,â she touched the slider on the phallic-shaped thing and burst into fresh peals of laughter. âThink you are gonna teach me how to use this? Should I shove this in or stick it at my clit?â Eva felt a rising blush creeping from her cheeks to her ears, and it has nothing to do with the heater in the house. Still a middle-classed nice girl-next-door at her core, no doubt, Eva was. Sitting alone in a house with someone else grabbing a plastic vibrating dick thing makes the house seem smaller, stuffier. She shrugged out of her pullover, feeling hot.Â
Taylor narrowed her eyes and shook the little present and furrowed her brow. "Guess again? What'd you go and get me? Boxers?" The taller girl asked with a smirk. She sat down next to Eva and placed her present in her lap, deciding she'd open hers after she got to see her friend's reaction. "Maybe I did and maybe I didn't." Taylor smirked away knowing that her best friend was only playing. Of course she had actually got the wrapping paper in Walmart because it was all she could afford after the presents she'd gone and bought. Two for Eva and one for her mother; the only people that mattered. Taylor's mother's room was the only room in the house off limits at all times. And to reinforce that it was locked and only unlocked a few times a year. On Christmas and birthdays Taylor would unlock the door and drop a present in before laying down on the bed she hadn't changed for years. She'd remember better times for an hour or two before returning to normal. It was an odd tradition of hers but she didn't have many others so she stuck to it religious. So religiously in fact that one year she had to decide between buying groceries and her mothers present and she went for the latter. She'd managed a day of no food before heading over to Blue's to scrounge what she could.Â
She watched on as Eva opened the present and all she could do was grin at the reaction it received. Taylor laughed and sat back happily, proud that she could get the girl all embarrassed. "Hey, you do whatever the hell you like with it, kiddo. And do you seriously think I know how to use one of those things? Like I need one. I get a enough from the girls around school to do me just fine." The brunette said with her usual smarmy smirk. Most would have said she was boasting about something that was necessarily true Miss Beiste was no liar. "Just thought you could use something practical and pleasure inducing this year. Good find if I do say so myself." Lord knows the boys around town didn't do much for her. They didn't do much for anyone and even from Taylor's point of view they weren't much to look at. She didn't like seeing Eva with boys from school because none of them were good enough for her. In her mind nobody was good enough for her best friend; though there was one person if Eva was willing to be a little flexible.Â
Taylor readied herself before picking apart the wrapping paper on her present. "So you're sure it's not boozed up chocolates?" She asked with a glance over to the red head as the paper came off with ease. Taylor looked back down only to see her face stared back up at her. Her and Eva, Eva and her; a collage of some of their best and worst photos depending on the perspective. The brunette let out a huff of a laugh, not all that sure what to say. She'd never gotten a gift like this. People gave her pills and things that were related to inside jokes. They didn't give her presents to make her feel things and here she was feeling everything at one time. She ran a hand through her messy mop and got up, moving over towards the fireplace. Taylor never used the fire place, mostly because she didn't know how to work it. But she was more forcused on the mantel piece. Normal people put trophies and trinkets up on their mantel, things they were proud, and with that thought in her head she rest the framed picture right in the center. The brunette stood back for a moment, just staring at the two of them. She wasn't smiling in some of the photos because she wasn't one for cheesy grins but she knew was happy. Taylor was always happy when Eva was around, no matter what.Â
"You did good, kiddo." Taylor said as she moved back over to her friend, pressing a kiss to her red hair before slipping a box out of her pocket and dropping it into the girls lap. "I'm glad I was on the ball this year." She said as she sat back down, wringing her hand subconsciously. Some part of her brain always knew what was going on or what was going to happen but she didn't have clue how Eva would take this. Would she think it was stupid? She'd probably think it was stupid but Taylor had liked the idea and her gut instinct was telling her that it was a good choice. The second gift was purchased per say. It was procured by a group she rounded up. She'd seen the necklace in a jewellery store, nothing fancy or anything, but it was nicer than her budget could afford. So it became more of a smash and grab procurement but Eva didn't need to know the details. In the little box was was a silver chain with a capital T hanging from it. Taylor was wearing a matching E on hers that was hidden under her top. "You know you can open it right, Red?" Her impatience was growing because of her nerves, she just wanted Eva to like it. Taylor didn't do sentimental or even nice at times so this really was a first for her. She wanted her and Eva's friendship to be a little more than booze filled chocolates and glittery things.Â
