Tau.

Unfortunately, as well as fortunately, Tau gets so engrossed in his work he normally doesn't even realize the quiet ping his phone makes when he receives a message. That's the thing with a passion, it takes over every moment of your brain and time until you've given yourself to nothing else but that. At least that's what this passion is for Tau. How it manifests. As he sets his brush down on the extra sheet of wax paper, peeling off his left glove he dabs the sweat on his forehead with a tissue. Pleased with his work so far he deems it time for a break and it's good timing that he checks his phone as well. A smile already blooming onto his cheeks at the name that popped up, and of course what the messages entailed. A complete set? In the year it was published? An exquisite find and he wasn't surprised-but very happy to see they would be donated after the restoration or what... is truly not too much damage given the age of them. When they had met the first time, getting to know each other over coffee and learning about their shared passion for the restoration of old pages made it very obvious that Vitas what quite like him in the way that, he never wanted something to gain like monetary value or compensation or even praise, for doing what they do. For allowing the world to see the beauty that was hidden under mildew and dust for so long. He respected Vitas so much for many reasons, but that was a big one. Tau had set aside what he had been working on-a personal project, not for work-making sure the space would be ready to set them out on by the time Vitas arrived. So, when the other man made his presence known, the son of Anubis had a second chair pulled up to his table in the center of the quiet-albeit the very light instrumental music playing in the background- work room already waiting for him, a soft smile and an outstretched hand for him to sit was offered. "What a beautiful way to continue the day with Daniel Defoe~ Vi you have gotten me excited I must admit." Tau is very gentle spoken and very liquid with his movements so it isn't always obvious when he is excited, so he tends to say it. "Did you have time to get started today?" Putting fresh black gloves on he waits before even touching the box and taking them out to see, because they are not his. No matter how excited he might be.

Tau finds himself giddy over the fact that they were both at the right spots at the right times to see each other. Even from so far up or below. Ayden had been on his mind quite a lot as he'd been gone and to see his face so soon after arriving back couldn't have been a nicer feeling. Careful, airy steps made their way to the door so he could invite his friend in from the cold-The cold he now thankfully had shut the sliding glass door to, so his home should be heating back up soon-and with every bright fleck in his warm brown eyes he expressed so much appreciation for the man in front of him. "Oh Ayden.." His smile is just as warm and welcoming as he takes one of Ayden's cold hands into his own, squeezing it for a moment in his version of affection. "It has been far too long, how I have missed you!" Tau had never been told per say why December is so hard for his friend, but he did notice how every year the man just wilted around this time. A beautiful flower that still tries to stand so tall even when the frost is trying to take it's petals. Ayden still always stood tall, and it was so wonderful to see him blossomed and perky now. Of course he would always rather his friends be feeling their absolute best, and of course he is always willing to be the one to help them get there. He would be here for Ayden whether he was wilted, or like now when he stands tall. "I have to say I've been well simply because I feel I learned sooooooooooooo much while I was away this time. Though, I dislike that being gone, now has me unaware of how you have been, Ayden! Please sit sit I will light the fire, we must catch up." Tau strides to the open hearth fireplace, letting the logs catch to let a beautiful glow cast through Tau's mostly cream and brown toned interior. Warm and peaceful, a space that gave him the same feeling his friend gave him. Almost gliding around his house he returns with two blankets for the couch and a glass of wine for Ayden. Also the rest of the bottle. "Now please tell me what's been going on lately. Of course only what you wish to share you know I would never try to pry." To say he was excited to reconnect after so long was an understatement.

A trip was always nice because he got to bring back a lot of books he didn't have access to, meaning he has fuel for a least a few days since each page only takes him a swift skim to take in. Already halfway through these pages and he just couldn't stop, with each page came each step and even though he had e=been gone a while, he could still make the trip to the Flower Mill with his eyes closed. Unfortunately knowing where he's going doesn't mean he isn't going to end up running into something or-someone-and here he is standing face to face with a man that had collided with him. Already apologetic but also conscious of other's space, he doesn't reach out to stabilize the man, but worry does fill his brows and big brown eyes. "I apologize, I tent to lose myself in these things," With a gentle wave of his hand he offers the excuse of his book. 'Snow Country', by Yasunari Kawabata. An incredibly beautiful book that in Tau's opinion does absolutely warrant the amount of attention he was giving it-- he should just maybe give it that attention when he's seated already. "Can I grab you a coffee to make up for it?"

The son of Anubis never expected any type of reaction from anyone. He knew well that everyone is vastly unique and however they may speak does not indicate the type pf person they may or may not be. So when the man he bumped into is monotonous with his response, Tau didn't think anything of it. It must just be how this man is, and that is more than okay to Tau. The towering Egyptian offered a soft smile before gracefully reaching out to hand the book to his new acquaintance that wanted a very specific coffee. "I should probably wait to read it when I'm already sitting.. Would you mind holding it, though?" Tau repeated the order out loud to the guy as he walked in, as if reassuring him that the coffee Tau brings back will be the exact kind he asked him for. As he waits in line, eyes scanning over all the bright beautiful colors and decorations, he thinks about the man he just met. A venti caramel macchiato with no sugar. He compares the order to his own, an americano with Ristretto and a dash of oat. The other must not need much espresso to start the day which says much about him, maybe that he is a morning person, maybe that he is quite energetic on the inside, or even that he possible has a heart condition. Maybe he cannot have much energy inducing drinks. He wonders about all these things and more while he goes through the process of ordering, paying, and eventually walking back out to the front of the doors, both coffee's in his hands. He thought about these questions so much that once he got back to the man, even as he handed the Caramel Macchiato with NO SUGAR to Vitas, he couldn't help but ask. Curiosity getting the better of him as it most always does. "Does sugar and espresso cause your heart to act irregularly?" The question came so easily, one that you might not ask just anyone, but it was said with the same silk like tone that only ever goes above a certain decibel. He isn't trying to probe, but he figures it would be smart to know this information beforehand, because maybe they will become friends and Tau must be careful of these things. Until he realizes he is probing. "I apologize that might have been too forward." His smile is bashful as he scratches the back of his head. Oops.

Oh the things we do in Tokyo-

Tau never really took the time to think about the impact he had on anyone. His brain was already so filled with so many things every waking moment that the way he affected people didn't have time to enter it. Granted, he knew Invidia cared about him and that he was his friend and that they had fun going on adventures together and trying new foods, but he has never realized just how happy he truly makes his friend. Leaning against his desk in the basement of The Lion's Den, Tau has the sweetest smile on his face with his phone up against his ear. One thing he did register was the excitement in Invidia's tone and the way he bursted out with the nickname Tau enjoyed so much. Invidia was actually the first person to ever give him a nickname, and he cherished the way it made him feel. "You messaged a while ago it was hardly fast~" There's a soft teasing blimp in his tone, and Invidia must have perfect timing if he's ready now, because now that Tau was done with work, he was free for the night. "Mmm.. I was just leaving work actually. You have me way too interested for me to busy myself with anything else but your time." Ooooooooooo if there was one thing Tau loved, it was learning something he didn't know before. Knowledge in any way, even if it's just learning what someone has to say or show, was incredibly exciting to him. And at this point, Invidia had him at the edge of his seat! "Where should I meet you?"
